    BGC is the "Beverly Hills" of the Philippines. If the government could build that type of infrastructure in all other major cities around the country, it would do the country a huge favour. Long time political corruption has kept the country worse off and behind any other Asian country, sadly.

It's a great place to land and spend a few days in the Philippines in a safe (wide even sidewalks and no phone snatchers) environment to catch up on sleep and adjust to the atmosphere. • @gwapakaayobabe
      @gwapakaayobabe 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think it is still more affordable for the same thing that you get in the West. For the price of a little box in New York, you get something more bigger in BGC with more amenities, for example. Another would be, for an equal condo in Fort Lauderdale (both in beauty, amenities and great surroundings) you'll have that for lesser dollars in BGC. And that is why, Manila has now overtaken Dubai and Hong Kong for the luxury condos real estate. Yes maybe, more expensive than what is local but still very much cheaper than for what is abroad and certainly within reach of yuppies in the area.

    • @bureaucrazy1234
      @bureaucrazy1234 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @gwapakaayobabe it's not about price, it's about value. a $500k house with 3br and an acre of land is often a much better value than a $500k BGC condo the literal size of a shoebox with bad construction quality.

But Makati is still home to the Philippine's one percenters (meaning those who's families are even listed on the Forbes richest) are still in Makati. The very wealthy gated communities are there, with houses rivaling those in Beverly Hills, CA. The very wealthy Chinese are also in Greenhills, Mandaluyong and some in Quezon city. Those wealthy neighborhoods are rarely seen on TH-cam, because of course, they are very exclusive and have guards outside their gates (unless, you have friends or are invited).

      @@gangstagummybear3432what about Japan then, they like the Philippines were destroyed by bombs during WW2 , most of the 'old' castles and temples have since been rebuilt. The country is an archipelago which faces typhoons, earthquakes and tsunamis but they have incredible infrastructure throughout. Tokyo exceeds NCR , because it is well built, well managed, easy to navigate, the apartments are equally small and expensive in the centre, but because of efficient public transport you can live outside that centre cheaper and get to the central business districts and entertainment areas quickly, but like Cinderella you must leave before midnight because the trains shut down and partygoers will either party all night, sleep on the street, or find a capsule hotel or internet café to await the morning.
      There are also numerous parks where people can enjoy fresh air and nature, NCR has some places like Rizal park or the campuses of the old universities but not as many.

      BGC is a nice clean city, that's it! But it is just one area in the Philippines that is also nice and clean. That would be a fallacy to say that it is really clean as compared to other parts of the Philippines. Much like it is if I would say, that all of New York city or the US for that matter is so dirty based on what I've seen in Brooklyn....

    I have been saying it for years: foreign vloggers all want to live in BGC and pretend they're living in the Philippines, while they are actually living in a copy of whatever place they came from. BGC is about as far removed from the real Philippines as you can get. I have spent a total of 11 years living in Metro Manila, in a couple of different spells, and have been in Pasig for the last 5 years. It's much more "real".

      It's after a month of living there you learn where's this and where's that. I don't think one week in Davao City is worth your time. Living in Davao City as a single man was ok and walking around Davao City feels safer than Cebu City.

    The condos are so overpriced there. You can get a place twice as big in Thailand for the same price, in a huge international city with a million things to do. The nightlife in BGC is dead. Everything is empty after 9pm. There isn’t one popular filled up bar or club. It’s a joke compared to Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia. All those countries have packed bars and restaurants until 3AM. BGC is so boring. And the condos all have rats and roaches. They need to cut the rent prices in half, it will fill up, and become a nice international scene. But for now, nobody will stay there for those prices.
