I'm so obsessed with this song! I've been listening this a million times, It's just amazing, the vocals are so clean and strong, the changes are so harmonic. This song hits you right on your miserable heart.

Lida Fernández The blend between harsh vocals and cleans is so majestic. Melodies and chord progressions nail it. I wasn't an Amorphis fan, but this song got me into them.

Don't be an unpleasant piece of shit. Damn why must Romania have such cunts lol.
The song is brilliant. Simply brilliant. It's among the best material from Joutsen-era Amorphis, and that's saying a hell of a lot.

Well happy for you. It just amazes the amount of people who have only recently found out about bands like Amorphis, Sentenced, Insomnium or even Nightwish when they have been around for decades.
It should not be about marketing but constantly trying to find new bands in the genres you like. And even how easy it is today with last.fm and Spotify that links you to bands to you propably like. Wasn't like that in the 80's and 90's :)
Kinda pisses me off than people are so lazy but good that you found them out.

To clear out the story behind the lyrics:
    Wikipedia - Lemminäinen:
Lemminkäinen or Lemminki is a prominent figure in Finnish mythology. He is one of the Heroes of the Kalevala, where his character is a composite of several separate heroes of oral poetry. He is usually depicted as young and good-looking, with wavy red hair.
The original, mythological Lemminkäinen is a shamanistic figure. In the Kalevala, he has been blended together with epic war-heroes Kaukomieli/Kaukamoinen and Ahti Saarelainen.
In one myth, he drowns in the river of Tuonela (the underworld) in trying to capture or kill the black swan that lives there as part of an attempt, as Ilmarinen once made, to win a daughter of Louhi as his wife. In a tale somewhat reminiscent of Isis' search for Osiris, Lemminkäinen's mother searches heaven and earth to find her son. Finally, she learns of his fate and asks Ilmarinen to fashion her a rake of copper with which to dredge her son's body from the river of Tuonela. Thus equipped, she descends into the underworld in search of her son. On the banks of the river of the underworld, she rakes up first Lemminkäinen's tunic and shoes, and then, his maimed and broken body. Unrelenting, she continues her work until every piece of Lemminkäinen's body is recovered. Sewing the parts together and offering prayers to the gods, the mother tries to restore Lemminkäinen to life, but while she succeeds in remaking his body, his life is still absent. Then, she entreats a bee to ascend to the halls of the over-god Ukko and fetch from there a drop of honey as ointment that would bring Lemminkäinen back to life. Only with such a potent remedy is the hero finally restored.

Amorphis is incredble. I've never seen a band go from death metal to melodic death metal with folk elements to progressive metal/rock back to progressive death and nail it every fucking step of the way. It's awesome to me they've been able to put out more mainstream friendly stuff without ruining the integrity of their music like many bands tend to do.

To those wondering about the lyrics, this is sort of a sequel to their classic 'Silent Waters'. It's a continuation of the same story from the Kalevala, where Lemminkäinen's body is pulled from the river of Tuonela by his mother; the bee essentially allowed the body to be brought back to life, with a drop of sacred honey.

If he didn't mention Tuonela I'd have literally thought they're doing an Egypt mythology album and the Bee was actually the Scarab in a sort of artsy approach (similar to how last one was about the Indian/Aztec culture)
But damn, that's a good one.. Never realized how rich the storyline in Kalevala was.. Wish there were series of those :)

These lyrics are about me (and my protectors aka the kings/princes etc) and so are the lyrics to the song Silver Bride. I am the true/only Queen / Lady / Princess / Star / Goddess etc and I represent The Bee and The Silver Queen and The Silver Bride and The Queen Of Time! My protector Chip has been involved in the creation of most lyrics and movies (he and the ClA included lots of subtle references to me in many songs/movies and made many songs about me) and included 2 of my main symbols aka the Infinity symbol and The Triangle in many videos...

    • @FrozenMermaid666
      @FrozenMermaid666 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

In the song The Bee, they subtly referenced me as the flowers cold as ice, which is a secret reference to me the only being who reflects flowers and my perfect personalities (each perfect personality represents a different flower) and, this reference was included by Chip -- the song Ice Queen is also about me, and I represent the cold/ice and flowers and many other pure and interesting elements, myself being the most complex being!

    A fire in the sky
Ablaze the spark beyond the stars
Its gleaming wings will cut their way
Through the silent paths of space
    Planets whirl, suns are lit
    Mountains fly, stars are dimmed
Its golden sabres tear through time
In the night of the river of death
    Fly the silent prince electors
    On the banks of Tuonela
    Bleach the skeletons of kings
Their skulls of sugar sickly sweet
Their bones piled up on the shore
    On bed of mottled rocks
    Amid flowers cold as ice
Pray the weak, the old, the poor
And when the tiny one from heaven comes
    Crawls inside the chosen skull
And when the tiny one it summons the others
To crawl inside the chosen skull
    They build their castles
    In the heads of kings
Bring life to the empty halls
    They build their castles
    In the heads of kings
And honey will flow once more
    Once more
In the night of the river of death
    Fly the silent prince electors
And when the tiny one from heaven comes
    Crawls inside the chosen skull
And when the tiny one it summons the others
To crawl inside the chosen skull
    They build their castles
    In the heads of kings
Bring life to the empty halls
