glad to see im not the only one to think it looks like that. played this for the first time though like half a year ago and i was like, "...am i seeing this wrong?"
The base game is pretty straightforward, but extra mode is genuinely quite a challenge -- maybe not as much as in Kirby's Adventure, but you don't get the nice cushion against game overs that a save file provides. If you play the base game a tad lazily, extra mode WILL kick your butt!
damn, i used to play this game ALL the time when i was a kid. never bothered to time myself, but after a certain point i could beat it with no trouble at all, lol. though i never knew about the extra mode, so i might have to look into it and try it out.
the last time i played the game was when i was like eight though, and i can't recall ever seeing anything about extra mode, lol. not saying it's not there, just that i missed it somehow.
FeanixFlamage Once you hear extra mode it also tells you how to edit your max life and number of extra kirbies you start with. After mastering even extra mode I started reducing the max health and playing it with only 1 health as a challenge(I know it's possible to complete without getting hit at all since I could complete the game like that, but I always needed multiple extra lives because I wasn't able to play perfectly).
It's a pretty notable staple in Kirby. When reaching the end of a stage, he usually performs the dance, of which has minor variations but generally is around the same. Nowadays, this dance is most often seen after the goal game rather than right at the end of the level.
Runner introduction starts at 00:39. Run starts at 1:12.
You put the wrong time in the title, its 12:51 not 49:06
Thank you, fixed!
You may want to make it clear the run was restarted at 4:07 because it softlocked(boss died as it entered the door preventing the fight from ending).
Kirby volt
Such an entertaining runner! Kudos to the guy.
I did speedruns with this game as a kid when I didn't know what speed runs were.
Easy mode runs are where I started speedrunning. You could pick it up again!
Many memories of playing this game as a kid - love the music!
what an entertaining run!
I don't think I've ever played this mode before. I'd certainly remember Bronto Burt in a gimp suit.
EDIT: Shout-out to soft lock.
GBJ is real

I used to play this game all the time as a kid. Watching it played was so nostalgic!

My first kirby game used to love this game
One of my first games ever
At least Ebloody made up for his 3 minute run by going 2 minutes under estimate

The game tells you how to open Extra mode when you beat it though...
RobinLSL you have to wait past the credits for it, though.

This is the first and only game I've ever speed ran. It's been lots of years since last time, but I think I recall using 13-15 minutes on the game.
Great run, I used to play this when I was a wee lad and I would always die at Dedede.
They're all wrong, Bubbly Clouds is the best KDL song.
Bubbly clouds is great

To celebrate!
ShonkyLegs it's funny

Man, this game kicked my butt as a kid. I don't remember ever getting past the second boss.
