Every 4th I go to Wyoming for the 4th and where I stay is a couple miles away from this fly in community where basically the neighborhood all has planes and you can take off from the strip in the neighborhood but there are 3 pilots who privately own 3 f5’s and they fly them around on the 4th it is insane how much adrenaline these planes give you even if your not flying them
@@speedbrake Still kills me that i can get a mig 29, but i cant have a 14 at any price. The only downside to a 5 if you can even call it a down side is the need for air starting. Anyone else remember going deaf with 47As?
Camel TX That’s awesome! Are they friendly If you know ? I’ll be near RFD soon and do you think they’d mind if I’d ask to go in the hangar and take some pics of her?
@@seanboi8600 I don't know the owner, but he seemed pretty friendly to me.. I'd contact Kaney and tell them you're a spotter and ask if you can talk to the owner of the F-5. Also nearby at RFD is Code 1 Aviation, which works on L-39s.
Camel TX Yeah! I’ve heard of them too, sorry i keep asking so many questions and all, but do you know anything about Code 1? If they’re friendly and don’t mind? Thanks mate!
Watching paint dry would've been more productive than the first 5m30s of this clip. Could've at least done a walk around of this beautiful aircraft - wasted opportunity.
@@speedbrake Nice try. But you know what gave it away? The "look very closely in the background" part, when the aircraft was recorded in close range throughout the video. I remember because I watched intently less than an hour ago. If not for that I'd have definitely watched again since I'm a subscriber and would've taken your word for it ☺️
The F-5 is such a great looking aircraft!
F-16?
wow a fly worthy Nortthrop F-5A freedom fighter, great to see this one ❤️👍

I use to work in the blue hangar in the background. Have you seen the MiG 21 that flys out of RFD?
I've seen the MiG 21, but I haven't seen it fly yet.
I am physically attracted to F5's, is that wrong?
Rockford? Was this one of the birds courtessey aircraft brokered? Last I heard Thornton still teaches TC in the tiger.
It is Rockford at the north GA ramp... I don't know who brokered this one.

Get that guy on the ramp some hearing pro!
It looks like he has orange ear plugs, visible at 4:54
@@speedbrakeoh good phew you’re right. I was thinking he was having his eardrums blasted out! Lol
The Iranians have built an upgraded version of this plane looks 👌
Do you know the current market price of f5?
I have no idea, but contact Code 1, I think they know, and there may even be one for sale.
@@speedbrake yeah I see a f5e tiger 2 listed for 1.5 but I don't know and there's another listed for 700k
Nice! Are these always at RFD?
I believe this particular F-5 is based at RFD at Kaney Aerospace. Some of the other jets in the background are from other places.
