It's almost like we learn over time that certain things we did when we were younger were not safe. Cough Lawn darts Cough. You know that bike helmets dcrease risk, same as gear on motorcycles. Adults can decided what level of risk they are comfortable with as everyday life is nothing but calculated risks. Personally, I lean towards caution when it comes to gear, riding is already a very risky activity and add on top of it I like to ride aggressively so any risk reduction I can get while still riding the way I enjoy seems like a no brainer.
I live in Florida and ride in all black gear in the summertime. I work at a paper mill working on machinery as its running and putting off multi hundred degree temperatures with 100% humidity in the summertime. You would be amazed what your body can adapt to. I promise if you rode with gear you wouldn't fall out from a heat stroke unless you were completely negligent about your hydration and even then I highly doubt it.
@@gsd7166 I’ve crashed many times 🤷🏼 havnt been to a doctor in 10 years. My bike spends 90% of its time on one wheel while I wear t shirt and shorts. Y’all just garbage
Look, I get it. The tactile feel of a bike without gear (just a helmet, not even gloves) is absolutely amazing. It feels great to ride short distances and hoon it, but if you're riding for longer, gear becomes way more comfortable. There's tactile disadvantages obviously; you can't really feel levers or your grips through gloves, it takes a lot of work to break in boot enough to feel the rear and shift lever, it's a lot of work... But I still ATGATT even for short stints because I want to survive in 1 piece. I used to ride without leggings and boots for years but here in rainy Ireland, if I got caught in rain, I'd be drenched. Means to an end. Plus, if I came off without gear, I'd be wanting to ride the bike even more knowing I cant for a while due to injuries.

Everyone just needs to ride their own ride. I ride a 850 lb bagger, and don't do wheelies, but I do enjoy watching a skilled rider pull them off. As for riding gear, I like to wear full leathers, but that's not happening in the middle of Summer.
Really don’t know why you don’t have more subscribers?? Got a much more likable character than these other youtube stars and straight beastin on them wheelies brah
My alpinestars tech air 5 airbag has been my best purchase - Literally can not feel it and 100x safer than nothing. Everyone makes their own decisions though. Ride safe!
Out of all the stunts he mentioned needing vans and thin gloves for the only one I've seen him do out the tons of videos I've seen of him, is a wheelie. He rides fast through traffic on the highway and wheelies. You dont need vans for that. I have Alpine Star SMX S riding boots and they have plenty protection for the street. I wheelie and can feel my pegs, shifter, and rear brake fine. I wear gloves that have much more protection than his and feel everything just fine. I haven't messed myself up like him either. So all this blah blah about jumping all over his bike and needing to feel stuff is cap. Just say you don't like wearing gear because its not as comfortable to you and be done with it.
Hey Brah, well I certainly understand your philosophy, and I don't usually say this about PPE, but you are pretty right. I am pleased that you wear a helmet, but apart from losing skin without leather, it doesn't really stop you breaking bones - you see that on the track with heaps of run-off. My mate crashed on the street in full leather and full length boots and his leg was shattered, so there's that. Hope it continues to go well for you. Cheers mate.
Honestly though, if you are severely injured....and have severe road rash, it might be just enough that your body can't deal with the cumulative trama.
One of those extremely light airbag vests wouldn’t interfere whatsoever. It sits like a completely deflated life vest. I’ve seen some guys with them so they can still wear a T-shirt and not overheat.
I love how it’s either full leathers or no gear at all for you. I stunted my F4i for years with a mesh aramid jacket, alpinestars smx2 air gloves and riding jeans. Hardly affects ergonomics at all lmao
Fr. I just don’t see a reason not to wear gear. Especially if I’m someone like gixxer brah flying through construction zones way past the speed limit and doing wheelies through traffic. Squids always think they’re fine cuz they haven’t had that one fatal accident yet
I was doing 80 on the parkway, a teenager doing close to a 100 hit me from behind while swerving and launched me to my back, I slid for a bit then was sliding on my arms and hands for a long time. I had a armored mesh jacket, gauntlet gloves and riding shoes. I'm 200 pounds and all my weight pushed hard into the pavement, shredded the armor and gloves but it all held. Zero chance I would have kept my arms, skin, muscle, bone would have been torn away. EMT said he sees so many guys bones half gone and skin and muscle hanging off like ripped cloth. I was able to go to work the next day.
As much as I'm a fan of Brah, I will never agree with this statement, even if I'm not as competent as Brah, I know riders who are more competent than him that will never leave home without at least their jacket. If they don't plan on stunting they will wear their gloves too. It dont matter if you feel lighter while stunting or if it's too hot, you need your upper body to be alive and that should be the end of the discussion. You can die from losing too much skin if you don't die from the impact. Stay Safe Brah ❤️

oh yes, It happens to the best of us. I'm 47, been riding since I could basically walk. Rode motocross for years, then got into sportbikes as a teen. That first track day put things into perspective for me. Making turns on the highway around a Tundra or Expedition is a LOT different than going into a turn with an experienced rider. They just knew how to brake better, how long to hold the throttle, etc. It was an eye opener - at least that was my experience.
@@Knoxvillemoto thank you for tagging me with this, I didn't realize he finally went, that being said, he did good for a first time rider at a new track, a little wild but he also had something to prove, if there was no cameras/internet and he could have slowed down a little he probably would have done better. We all think we are fast until we start tracking/racing
Every mate of mine who died on a bike did so while wearing full gear. You get to a certain speed where a helmet & leathers aren't gonna save your bacon so why bother. If you're riding sensibly or on a track then it makes sense, but going 10/10ths on the road == fo'get about it.

I'm 68 years old. I ride a motorcycle with about 75 hp. It tops out about 120 mph. I'm a fairly tame rider, I don't ride particularly fast. I always try to have something on, like a jacket, I always wear gloves, although cruiser gloves, not sport gloves, and lately I've taken to wearing leather over-the-ankle boots, although they aren't motorcycle boots. I have a mesh jacket with some armor in it, that I usually don't wear. I don't wear actual gear because a) it is too goddamn hot and b) it's too goddamn expensive.
not gonna lie all i could think the whole time he was saying he dont wear it for performance and because of the texas heat im sitting here thinking is that worth your life though or having your leg ripped off from a lowside at 180

My cousin was picked number 10 out of 300 plus stunt doubles for the movie ghost rider. Pretty crazy. He does insane stunts. And get this. He couldn't even pass his permit test. Yet could ride wheelies around a cone lol.
I only wear a jacket when I go to visit my grandmother. Every other time, my tweed jacket is 100% abrasion proof. Although I do ride a RE Classic 350 so speed isn't an issue.
What I don’t get is people yell “wear gear” like it will save your life.... no. It will save your skin not your life. My buddy that got killed on a gsxr 1000 was in full pro leathers. He hit a tree head on at 50 mph and killed him on impacted. My other friend went down at 190 In full gear and he slid down the road for quarter mile and he didn’t have a scratch. That’s what gear saves you from. It don’t save your life it’s saves your skin.
I mean technically you’re correct. But at the same time, we as riders aren’t suppose to keep hitting things. Gear is meant to protect you WHEN falling off the bike. The problem is, most motorcycle accidents and deaths (literally over 90%) is us running into shit. I guarantee if your friend didn’t have gear on sliding down that road he would’ve lost more then just skin. (Sorry about the lost of your friend)
People are so scared of everything these days it’s sickening. at this point in time it seems like people look for something to bitch about. If they can’t find something they’ll make something up. And you’re right most of them can’t walk and drink coffee at the same time without spilling it. Much less ride a wheelie through the gears on your favorite motorcycle!
They have boots that are casual and have good feel but are still protective. There’s also armored shirts from icon with d30 that are good for what you do and in terms of pants? Riding jeans would work fine. Gloves come down to choosing the right ones, typically the sporty alpinestars gloves have very good tactical feel to them. Just my two cents
Always wondered why stunters don't wear gear, this explaination makes sense. I'm a cannon rider and always followed the saying it's better to sweat than bleed but now I see gear won't work for stunters.
Knew a cat who rode a his CBX wfo around Lake Tahoe in sunglasses and thongs - no helmet, no gloves, no shirt. He said preferred no helmet because he didn't to survive only to become a quadriplegic.
Love the vid brahh. But idt anyones asking you to wear a track suit, AlpineStars makes a hoody with armor pouches and theres jeans that normal but with armor pouches. We just want the content to keep comin man.
Yo for the little wobble problem you are having, I saw a bunch of dudes on a forum saying the same thing about the fz’s apparently it has something to do with the rear shock
Jason, what riding gear will help that situation to not happen? Personally I think safety gear is pushed like it will protect more than scraped skin. I guess one of those blow up vests could help stop bones breaking but regular jackets won't. All they do is stop road rash. Boots can help with keeping toes not getting scraped off but if a person wants to feel the bike better for what they are doing it's a risk vs. reward decision they need to make.
It ALWAYS makes sense to wear gear, period. You can say you're not this kind of rider, it's too hot, w/e the excuse, but it's bullshit. It sets a horrible example for new riders, or anyone even on the fence of wearing gear. It gets over 100 where I live and I wear full gear every ride, and it's not even close to being bad 99% of the time. If you don't want to keep your skin, be able to function properly or eat on your own, that's on you, but to say "It doesn't make sense" or "You're not on my level" is ridiculous man, just promote gear so everybody can make SMARTER DECISIONS and be able to enjoy their lives if they do wreck. You either do 20 mph wheelies or go 170 on the interstate while swerving between cars. Riders who do that are the ones who need gear the most, and nobody said you had to wear full leathers either, there's gear for all types of riders and conditions. Blows my mind hearing all the excuses people make to not wear it, but whatever it's your choice. Next time you might not have road rash, it might just shred your arm to the bone, then what?
What gear besides a helmet and boots will protect from a serious injury? Do they make jackets that you could crash at high speeds and not get your arm shredded to the bone?
@@ryanrogers8211 Yes, they actually do, they're called leathers and armor inserts. It's why actual drag racing and track riders wear them as they're a requirement to be able to use the track. How often do you see MotoGP riders get shredded up? Never...

I get what your saying. But there’s an issue when what you love to do negativity affects others. Him wearing gear whatever that’s all him. You saying you love seeing him shred the MT-09. Yes me as well but it becomes a problem when that can affect someone else. Like the situation with yammie noob and that Porsche

@@Charlesbjtown Bicycle helmets may reduce a person's risk of a head or brain injury by up to 88 percent and after helment laws were put in place in 1999 there was a 20% decrease in bike-related fatalities among people younger than 16.

I almost needed skin grap from my chain locking in the rear sprocket..I was only going 50mph....Gear is gold!

I fully understand your point what wearing gear is a compromise
Wear what you want. You know the risks. You're a grown ass man.
I agree but pride comes before a fall, as long as u dont get cocky ur 💯

The Brah annoys people like Goku does lol
I feel like that’s pretty accurate
I love how it’s either full leathers or no gear at all for you. I stunted my F4i for years with a mesh aramid jacket, alpinestars smx2 air gloves and riding jeans. Hardly affects ergonomics at all lmao
Fr. I just don’t see a reason not to wear gear. Especially if I’m someone like gixxer brah flying through construction zones way past the speed limit and doing wheelies through traffic. Squids always think they’re fine cuz they haven’t had that one fatal accident yet
I was doing 80 on the parkway, a teenager doing close to a 100 hit me from behind while swerving and launched me to my back, I slid for a bit then was sliding on my arms and hands
for a long time.
Why df wouldn’t you milk that injury and just take off 3 months 😂😂😂
It's wild a loves trucker did that. As a trucker I always move over to give bikers and they've always given more respect to me
As much as I'm a fan of Brah, I will never agree with this statement, even if I'm not as competent as Brah, I know riders who are more competent than him that will never leave home without at least their jacket. If they don't plan on stunting they will wear their gloves too. It dont matter if you feel lighter while stunting or if it's too hot, you need your upper body to be alive and that should be the end of the discussion. You can die from losing too much skin if you don't die from the impact. Stay Safe Brah ❤️
i think another completely valid reason to not wear gear is just not caring lol
You’ll care when you go down at 100
Everyone has that alpha “I don’t care attitude” until shit hits the fan
I went down on a MTB a few weeks ago on a dirt trail, a pedal bike. Wearing nothing but a helmet. Smashed my hip and couldn’t walk for a week, wrecked my arm where it got cut real bad, sprained my opposite wrist, gashed my right side from my ribs to my hip. And had cuts all down my legs
And that was just coming off a bike going about 20 mph catching some air on a medium sized jump that I misjudged the speed of

oh yes, It happens to the best of us. I'm 47, been riding since I could basically walk. Rode motocross for years, then got into sportbikes as a teen. That first track day put things into perspective for me. Making turns on the highway around a Tundra or Expedition is a LOT different than going into a turn with an experienced rider. Every mate of mine who died on a bike did so while wearing full gear. You get to a certain speed where a helmet & leathers aren't gonna save your bacon so why bother. If you're riding sensibly or on a track then it makes sense, but going 10/10ths on the road == fo'get about it.
you should maybe try an airbag vest not too heavy and shouldnt restrict too much and they are soooo safe. i get it i agree tho i just wear sweatpants and a hoodie.. helmet and goloves too but yk comfort is very important can make you less likely to crash in the first place. the airbag vests are great just really expensive
Hey to each their own brotha, i could never hate. Like you said you probably have more skill than most of us, Stay safe man!

getting on a bike in the first place is putting your life in your hands, and that's your decision. same goes for gear.
I’ve always worn thin gloves, helmet, jeans and vans. I even wear cans on my dirt bike. Feel is everything when your doing wheelies.
I spilled gas on myself yesterday and I was really surprised when it didn’t stain
12:45 Uh scuse me sir, your Texan is showing lol
What I don’t get is people yell “wear gear” like it will save your life.... no. It will save your skin not your life. My buddy that got killed on a gsxr 1000 was in full pro leathers. He hit a tree head on at 50 mph and killed him on impacted. My other friend went down at 190 In full gear and he slid down the road for quarter mile and he didn’t have a scratch. That’s what gear saves you from. It don’t save your life it’s saves your skin.
also possibly your bones (especially on dirt bikes)
Much less ride a wheelie through the gears on your favorite motorcycle!
never come to germany for ur own good, here is the epitome of being scared and having rules for everything
Just my two cents
u prolly cant wheelie and u prolly dont have a motorcycle and i know exactly what hes talking abt and he knows a bit more than u so bye bye

The "if I die, I die" mentally is cool until you can't move your arms or legs and your mother has to care for you for the rest of her life
😭😭😭
Once he can't ride anymore because his injuries, he will regret it then
What gear besides a helmet and boots will protect from a serious injury? Do they make jackets that you could crash at high speeds and not get your arm shredded to the bone?
@@ryanrogers8211 Yes, they actually do, they're called leathers and armor inserts. It's why actual drag racing and track riders wear them as they're a requirement to be able to use the track. How often do you see MotoGP riders get shredded up? Never...

@@ryanrogers8211 I was answering your question, and never said EVERYONE should wear leathers, no.
