Hi, I’m Sandra Cameron. My husband, Larry Schulz rediscovered Al at a Mama Lu Parks annual harvest moon ball event in 1981. Larry was a producer for NBC NY TV. You did an amazing job with this documentary on Al. Larry was Al’s manager.Larry was so impressed with Al’s dancing that he said it must be passed on to future generations. He proceeded to promote Al and his partner that NYU dance historian Sally Sommers suggested he dance with. She won the harvest moon ball in the 50’s. Her name is Al was teaching at my dance studio and traveling to do lecture demos that my husband set up in universities etc. Al was mugged after he came back from Sweden. He no longer wanted to dance. Larry asked him if he new of any other Lindy hoppers from his era. He suggested Norma Miller. My husband and Norma collaborated and did a big show at NYC Village Gate which Larry produced. You show a clip from that show with Norma, Frankie and Al and Billy Ricker. We filmed the whole show which starred Harold Nicholas of the famous Nicholos brothers. When Al passed away Frankie Manning took over his classes at our studio. Norma introduced us to Frankie. The rest is History. We should talk because we have wonderful film of Al, Norma and Frankie from 1981 onwards. Congratulation for doing an amazing job that a North American should have done. Art is always appreciated more in countries where it was not born. South America, Bravo!
