I usually like tinned vegetables curries, more than the tinned meat curries most of the time. I like them on a baked potato as you suggested. Even though it's curry I do enjoy a bit on grated cheese sprinkled on. Glad you tried that. I had wondered what it would be like. I quite like their tinned spiced lentil and tomato soup. I think it tastes nice and is not badly priced. I would happily have it instead of one of the curries, with some naan bread to dip in it and a handful of fresh coriander sprinkled on. Nice one Pappa 👍
It looks quite good, but as others said its a bit too dear. If it was cheaper I'd get it to try for the days I wanted to be lazy. I like the tins of Bombay potato from Asda which are £1.30. But I add finger chillies to it as I'm a spice fiend.
Cattaroni had to have the last say 👍 Now there's one to add to the apocalypse larder. M&S pricey £ indeed, but when there's no electricity or gas, the Kelly Kettle will heat this nicely to get it down the gob. I'd serve this veg tikka with some warm damper. You can 'Tikka' ✔️ this one off the to try list. Cheers John 👍🤤😀
The trouble with all supermarket curries (even "high-end" ones, like Charlie B.) is that they just don't taste the same as BIR curries. My two local Indian take-aways do a vegetable curry dish for £4.20 & £4.50. I bet they're not far off 400g. The vegetable curry is the best bit of a BIR Biryani.✌
I get what you say regarding the supermarket curries Mat. For me Mumtaz do the best ones, but you can't get them everywhere, and I love the veg curry in a BIR biryani too :)
Hi Papparoni , another excellent and honest review here of this M+S product - I have to say after its hobbing it looked really nice in texture and colour but from your reaction did not live up to expectations ! a lot of coin for a veggie curry - why do we constantly have to pimp things up these days ? have a great afternoon mate :-)
Ah Rock me Amadeus - indeed ! / Nice - I have had this - indeed all their related tinned range. To be honest I had this and added cooked chicken from a Sunday roast into this and it was great. OK, not supposed to do this, but made a really nice chicken curry from left overs. / Mark.
Lol 3 quid!!! It's literally veg with tikka flavouring lol Probably under 50p if u did it yourself. This one's making me laugh. M n S is an absolute no go area for me.
A bit on the expensive side considering it has no meat, I suppose you could add rice to it, meat, some chilli and make a meal out of it. Probably safer than eating out....
Hi Pappy it's good to watch another food review, I'm having one of those chef cho chicken things. Oh yeah Jamiroquai has remixed some of his old tracks thought I'd let you know Pappy 😊
That looked very rich from the moment that you opened the can and despite lacking in the expected M&S wow factor, a better option than the economy tinned curries. The adding of salt and lemon juice certainly makes a difference, like going from eating a toffee with the wrapper on to without 😅 I have my extra additive for any curry that i have, which is the hot chilli sauce from Lidl, as it doesn't spoil the flavour and adds some oomph to a tikka or korma.
I thought it looked rich in the can too Uncle. The lemon and salt trick always seems to help, and your Lidl chilli sauce sounds great too, must try... :)
@@Papparoni It's called.. Tiger Bite Sriracher and its a large red squeezy bottle 🍼 for around £1.30. Flavourless as not to ruin the taste of what you add it to and lasts for ages.
@@Papparoni WOW, £4.50, i have not been in M&S for a while. I would sooner pay the extra £2.75 for a full meal wth rice or chips and support my local take~away.
I don't think I will be getting involved with that at £3 a tin £1.49 is top dollar for that and you could probably make a wheelie bin full of the stuff for a tenner and have the whole street round for a vegan gathering
It should be 'pap' it up. Nothing wrong with adding a bit of this'n'that to suit your tastes. It's standard procedure to add lemon juice and salt for a Papparoni curry review.
@@PapparoniI think you would be, even if I do say so myself 😂. Last year I made a chicken curry, my friend was going to the hospital and asked if he could take some to his cousin that had been there all night. His cousin really loved it and was asking who made it 🤗
I find the biggest drawback with vegetarian food is that you don't get to moan about the meat content and seeing as I'm a right moaning old b*****d, according to my missus, it takes away some of the enjoyment of a meal.
@Papparoni I also may as well use this opportunity to inform you of a new limited edition Rustlers Peri Peri chicken burger which I picked up in B&M today 😊

Thank you Emily. Do you know what, I looked at the cheese in my fridge and almost did what you do! :)
That was a rather lacklustre "Oh yeah" for 3 quid you'd expect a happy Pappy😂 top review mate
Cheers mate, I have to say that I was expecting a lot better!

Hahaa, a fellow spice fiend! I had a tin of those potatoes, it was yonks ago, and I seem to remember them being rather nice, must get some more... :)

Indeed so mate, and it'd be good when out in the bushes away from the hidden army ;)
I dont get how it can be called tikka when tikka means marinated 🤣

Good to know it can be used as a curry base mate nice one, and Mozart was happy that Beethoven decided to walk off set for this particular tune :D

Indeed Skorpion there are some dodgy places out there..
If you buy a packet of mixed veg ,and buy a jar of tikka sauce , and make it yourself , you be Quid's in ,and enough for 3 😋😋😋
Nice cheap alternative thanks Malcolm :)

Roger that Uncle, thanks for letting me know :)
Think I can make that myself cheaper and tastier thanks for the review and cattaroni said don't buy at the end xx😊
You can make anything M, I know, as I watch your channel :) And yes indeed, Cattaroni as ever had something to say!
@@Papparoni thank you for that paps much appreciated and yes she does like to be heard give her a hug from me 😊
Will do :)
You can generally make anything cheaper, it’s the quantities that are the issue ❤
Omg any vegetarian could make a homemade veggie tikka, but £3 is not worth it! Xx :)
My mom is vegetarian and said she wouldn't know where to start, nor would she lay out all of that till on one can, so she'll stick to egg on toast! :D
@@Papparoni Don't blame her pap!
Have you tried those m & s layered dips? I am going near a m &s next Friday and getting excited about trying them
Just looked them up Jane and I have to say the Mexican one looks good
@@Papparoni I am going to try them all 😀
That's the spirit! :D
I would never pay £3 for a tinned curry meal. The fact that it is a vegetable curry and not meat / chicken, should make it even cheaper.
In the M&S world, it is cheap Andrew, their tinned meat curries weigh in at a whopping £4.50.
@@Papparoni WOW, £4.50, i have not been in M&S for a while. I would sooner pay the extra £2.75 for a full meal wth rice or chips and support my local take~away.

Hahaa, excellently put Ladd!
Curry flavoured vegetable soup?
Pretty much mate!
Shouldn't have to liven it up Papp
Indeed Stephen, M&S should have it correct straight out of the can, especially at that price

Tikka just isn't spicy enough for me ! ☹
Know what you mean mate. When I order one, I have chicken tikka madras :)
@@Papparoni Yes,Madras is the minimal for me 😋
Papps that is so disappointing. The price was far too much for what it is. I know I could do far better. I love your "oh yeh" rating system 😂

Pretty average for an M&S product then Pap, you would probably expect a bit better at £3!
Indeed so Mr Atkinson, they need to polish their table ready..

@Papparoni you're welcome Paps, thought I'd mention it as it seems a while since you done a burger review last 😊
The ones with meat are better 😚
Totally agree with that Anne :)
