I agree with you, Owen. Herman killed for greed. Even his postmortem interests seemed to revolve around profit.
He was a sadist, watching his victims suffer was part of the fun. He didn’t live or work in WhiteChapel so he had no anchor point. No real reason to choose such a tiny square mile for his killing ground. Sure, he was a notorious, despicable person. But he is unlikely to be the WC killer. Not to mention, like most of the suspects, he’s too young to have been the Thames Torso killer.
He’s not buried in Chicago as would be expected. He was executed in Philly, my home town. I visited his grave in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Good job on this video! I look forward to your in-depth look at this monster’s reign of terror.

That is coming out next. The details of his life are both disturbing and surprising.
Not a high level human by any means.

Gr8 Stuff, Owen...His confession didn't include The JTR Killings, so it appears that he wasn't responsible for the Murders...The in-depth video on H.H.Holmes will be interesting and it is amazing that it took The Police so long to catch him....Hope there is info on Holmes regarding his thoughts on JTR, if he made any comments at all before he was hanged in 1896, Owen.😀🤞

The in depth video on Holmes will be out next. It may surprise a little. ( I didn't find any reference that he made about JTR though ) He was one very self adsorbed person. 🍺🙂👍

I've always thought that he picked up Holmes as the name was famous already🤔

Sherlock Holmes started being around the same time. But the Holmes name was rather common. It wasn't Smith, but still way more in use than his actual name.

Adam Selzer, who I think can be considered an authority on Holmes, has a TH-cam channel in which he argues, convincingly I think, that there is evidence that shows that Holmes was probably in Chicago at the time. So I consider Holmes a very weak suspect. If the preponderance of the evidence is that he wasn't in England at the time, and the only real reasons for suspecting him are that he was the right age to be The Ripper and evil enough to be him, had some surgical knowledge, and maybe some dubious diary entries, I can't consider him a serious suspect. Here is the Selzer video about Holmes that I mentioned: th-cam.com/video/29jN5CdMA10/w-d-xo.htmlsi=nk-n6Ugxl-8F17BJ

I agree with that. I feel it was someone cashing in on a name and getting some publicity. 🍺🙂👍
