Thanks jeffery. And Andy and you bill for another master class video. Very interesting Come on England. 🫣🫣🫣 love it. Great footage mate. Thank you. See you tomorrow bill 👍👍👍👍
Very sophisticated glasses for just over a fiver. With all the seagulls we have and we add a knitted one - why not, it looks great😻. Jeffery's pier history is very good indeed and read with great interest. The painting 'pre pier' also shows a train unloading at East Cliff although no no details of platforms unfortunately. Well done Jeffery a really worthwhile addition to Bill's ever growing repository of local history - just love the history of the last 200 years. The story of the pier is reminiscent of South Parade Pier in Southsea which at a young age in the 1950s I could see it had been great pre war confirmed by stories from my parents in their courting years. All this wrapped up in a Shaldon visit too, great.😺
Cheers mate - Glad you enjoyed it. All the hard work of Jeffrey to be fair - Yes, that train was the original 'Station' at Teignmouth. They got off there and walked along the seafront ! 👍👍👍
Ah- Shaldon - such fond memories. First went there in the 60's as a child. My parents used to rent a house there and we kept on coming. Lost count of number of times have been there.
I was lucky enough to live at south view for fifteen years in the top flat with a balcony. We had views up the estuary and also over the sea. Had to move when my landlord sold up and the rent rocketed up to twice what it was! Still, what great years they were. Also fell on my feet as I now have a flat in Exeter with views across the city and over East Devon. Still love Teignmouth though. Thanks for the walks, and rail interest. Choo choo....
I'll have to look up at the top of South View next time I walk past. Nice place to live. Glad you are happy in Exeter - Plenty more Teignmouth Walks and Rail to come - Thanks for watching 👍👍👍
What a glorious day Bill and thanks for the lovely surprise visit to Shaldon . Lovely trip to back beach too oh my old cottage memories thanks Bill . Thank you Andy and Bill for the photos and thank you Jeffrey for the info on the pier . One last thing £6 for a pair of specs now that's what I call a bargain they look okay too Bill. I'll see you tomorrow stay safe ❤😊xx
Awww bill, I've only been back less than 2 weeks and the urge to come back is with me already. We had two separate days in shaldon and my they were brilliant. The town itself and smugglers tunnel and the botanical gardens with the amazing views. Stunning. I'm bringing my mum down to Minehead for a few days second week in July. On one of the days I think we'll get on the train at Taunton and come too Teignmouth. It's only 45 mins. That'll be the injection I need lol 😂😂
Yup. I can understand the draw towards Teignmouth. Once mum is gone, I could choose to live anywhere I want - But I'll be sticking to Teignmouth for sure 👍👍
Hi Bill, an unexpected trip to Shaldon, what a treat. A big thank you to Jeffrey for taking the time to collate all the information on the pier. Andy's midsummer photos were absolutely lovely as well. Was the tree that the bough snapped near the wild fowl hatchery? See you tomorrow mate. 👍👍👍
Another lovely day for today's walk Bill. Dare I suggest that summer is at last here 👍 . Is there any news on the bathing safety for the sea in Teignmouth, does the beach have any blue flags (or whatever they call them these days). Thanks Bill 🤗.
The bathing water is a political hot potato. We used to have blue flags, top quality water etc, and they used to shout it from the rooftops. Now, you don't hear anything 'official' except for complaints about the sewage dumping, and the overall poor quality of the bathing water... Again, just something else going downhill... 😥😥😥
Yes, the front bit with the machines is always open. As its the bit they make the money from... The little bit at the end, just outside the doors? Not so often 👍
Thanks for the name check Bill. I am happy your viewers enjoy the stuff to read as a follow up to your videos. 👍
Its fantastic Jeffrey - It really is - So grateful for your hard work 👍👍👍👍
