A lovely walk to a lovely place. It looked magical. I will have to ask my mum if she’s ever been there. Thanks Bill, catch you tomorrow after work. 😊😊😊
Hi Bill, I was more than a bit impressed that you managed that the morning after curry night. 😂😂😂 What a great video and the wonderful drone footage. When I used to come on holiday with mum we used to go to meadfoot beach and park up and have a picnic. One year she said let's go to Watcombe Beach. Well we got as far as the car park and she said let's go to Meadfoot after she remembered how steep it is to get down. See you tomorrow mate. 👍👍👍
Hey Bill deepest respect to you for taking that route. I know i would have struggled both directions 😅, even though a beautiful beach at the end. A few years ago we went to Maidencombe beach, bit closer to Teignmouth which is equally lovely, less steep and the cafe still operational by the beach. Maybe a future adventure of Bill's?
Hi Bill, when we stayed at Teignmouth last December we took a day trip to Clovelly in the Torridge district in Devon. The cobblestone path was very steep indeed, but it was a very worthwhile journey. Your video brought that very much to mind.
Hi Bill that looked lovely but no way would I get down there especially with Frank the pug in a pushchair so thanks for taking us with you x by the way twice once in St Andrew's Scotland and yesterday in Filey Yorkshire people have stopped and said they have seen Frank in his pushchair in a video before I was over the moon your video's are going out far and wide keep up the great work 😊
Hello Bill what an amazing video beautiful . Thank you so much . Thank you for the pics and all of the info and of course the drone footage . Àww Mum what are we like us Mums we are all.the same 😂 I hope you had a good rest when you got home I'll say bye now Bill see you tomorrow ❤😊xx
Hi Bill hope you're well and recovered from that walk. A most enjoyable virtual walk too somewhere different to be honest I got out of breath just watching. What a beautiful place, as you say a hidden gem i can see why the locals wanted to keep it a secret. Best wishes stay safe Jon and Karen.
spent my childhood on that beach learnt to swim there happy days..... the first section on the hill down to the right over the wall used to be a film studio in the 1910s i believe
A great place to learn to swim for sure 👍 & I have heard something about a film studio in the back of my mind, yes. Or at least a famous film star of the time that used to live there... 👍👍👍
Hey that was a very snazzy intro, always surprises. What a lovely cove that is - would love to see it but I know I just couldn't manage that climb and as you say down hill on such an incline is hard work too. Still you have given us a good look around, thanks.😺
Glad you enjoyed it - Yes, VERY STEEP... But if you are not in a rush (& it isn't quite so hot as it was then) then I'm sure you could make it in September 👍👍👍
Well done on walking that up and down ,very reminiscent of what I used to ride on a mountain bike in the 90s ,early 00s . That certainly is a very beautiful beach and you certainly get the perspective of it from the drone. I think I’ll have to pay it a visit very soon.
I'm 42 and I find it a struggle I often nip over to the watcombe chippy and sit in the gravel car park eating them the walk back up and down burns the lovely fish and chips off. My first time down was a bit of a shock 😂.
Same Pam, I have a problem going downhill because of vertigo and the walk back up would leave me in a breathless pool of sweat and tears so a definite no no for me.
@BillsPhoneTeignmouth elbury cove outside paignton is another nice place a bit of a walk but not as bad as watcombe beach. Elburry still has lord Churstons bathing house.
Bill cracking video! That is one steep incline I think a skateboard to navigate it!!!!!! and that view of the blue sea through the trees, I cant believe you have never been there?
Great. Nice history and drone. And that zoom in to your location very impressed. Although I'm not sure the world is round. I've not been that far out to check. 😂
Thank you very much! Yes, Id seen that effect used in a few videos, & it was surprisingly simple! Obviously little point in using it for Teignmouth, but any future 'away day' vids will be making use of it 👍👍👍
Bill here’s a new trip idea, you should come to Falmouth in Cornwall which is where I’m from. There’s a nice prom to walk along and a good walk around Pendennis point.
In an ideal world, I would - I have been there in the 90s though - Thing is, even heading to Watcombe beach requires me arranging cover for Mother - I cant go that far away from her really 👍
The beach at 8:12 on the other side of the head land is called Whitsand Beach. Back in the 70s you could get around to it on the rocks except at high tide and you could climb down the cliff at the rear which is a 45 degree slope. I doubt I could take either route now. The path at 6:25 is the coast path to Maidencombe a bit to the east of the cliff face seen 8:09 in the woods. There is a view point at its end where you can take, left , an easy walk to Maidencombe; or right, the coast path, which is a bit up and down.
@@BillsPhoneTeignmouth Maidencombe is very similar. There is also a pub with a beer garden which is very close to the car park and the coast path. The beer was good three years ago, never eaten there and I assume they have the normal selection of soft drinks. There is also a Steep Hill up to the main road from the pub, where there is a bus stop. It has a defibrillator half way up, hopefully it has never had to be used. There is a less steep hill that heads south but is quite long that meets the main road at bus stop opposite next Brunel Manor. The bus runs hourly I think.
Oh Bill thank you so very very much, absolutely loved it, sorry I forgot to mention how steep it was. Much love Ju xxx
You are very welcome Julie. Glad you managed to see it 👍👍👍

Fair play - Not sure if I'll be going back or not - But at least Ive been & made the video to prove it 👍👍👍
@@BillsPhoneTeignmouth yes sir. And I admire you too 👍👍
Nice beach the steps must be a killer
Steps were actually OK - Its the steepness of the road part that got me 👍

Glad you enjoyed it - Certainly different - And VERY STEEP 😂😂😂
@@BillsPhoneTeignmouth oh yeah lol you did say

Thanks Al, Glad you enjoyed it 👍👍👍

Definitely worth a visit mate - But genuinely steep! 😂 None of that was 'Put On' for the video 👍👍👍
@@BillsPhoneTeignmouth I can believe it mate, you have my respect-hate too think what I would sound like, might scare the wildlife 😂😂
🤣
How pretty is that beach Bill but sadly I'd never get down and back up thank goodness for you efforts Bill ❤😊xx

Great video Bill. Love the drone footage- which one do you use?
Thanks mate - Its the DJI Mini 3 Pro. Got it cheap as the '4' just came out. It does what I want it to do 👍👍👍

I could really do with a good winch like that one.
