As a Michigan resident, I am very proud to have Jocelyn Benson as our secretary. Not only is she confidence inspiring, but she is doing a great job. And on top of her voting oversight, our office branches have never been more efficient and offer great service.

Ever since Michigan got rid of its previous, gerrymandered maps, the voters have done much better, even in statewide elections due to much higher turnout than in previous years. Gerrymandering isn't technically supposed to affect statewide races, but it actually does have an impact. Hopefully, Wisconsin will follow suit!

We love, Benson, Nessel, and Governor Whitmer here in Michigan, these ladies are smart, intelligent, and carry out the letter of the law. That’s why they all won a second time around and turned both state legislatures blue. As for Ronna McDaniel ( , a.k.a. former Ronna Romney, McDaniel,she dropped the name when her uncle became a thorn in the side of Trump, ) not surprised by anything she would pull, she gets as low as you can go in the trenches. I hope this is handled accordingly under the law.
I agree except for Whitmer. I canvassed for her and supported her and spoke with her. In the end she had some abysmal failures that have not been talked about on the news. But we have proof if she ever decides to seek higher positions. Plus she never answers questions directly. Every door I knocked on I asked people what were the biggest issues that were affecting their lives. not one person said fix the damn roads. Those are problems for people who have money. There are people who have still not gotten their unemployment from the pandemic. We have hundreds of recorded phone calls to show that she had no ability to make them do their job even though she's the one who approves their budget. Legal aid was overwhelmed with unemployment issues, which made it very hard for people who need legal services to obtain them. I actually don't know anyone who has called whitmer's office and was successful in getting help. It's despicable and incompetent that during a fearful pandemic and shut down that a governor and is unable to force an agency under her to do their jobs and take care of the temporarily unemployed citizens. I know many people that gave up the thousands of dollars that Michigan unemployment owed them. Do you know that in Grand Rapids the school children who are from neighborhoods that are predominantly black or brown have to ride the city busses to go and from school? You know how normally a school bus driver is checked out to make sure they're not a child molester and there are only children on the bus? Well the school children are mixed with any child molester that wants to get on the city bus. But the predominantly white neighborhoods have school busses. This is one of the complaints that her constituents actually had concerns about, not fixing the damn roads. Try asking her a question. I asked her three questions and she never answered one. She went off on a tangent. Just watch the democrat debate she had before the first election. One of my questions was about getting Justice for flint. she answered by saying can you imagine if this happened in Holland. Of course it wouldn't because Holland is mostly white and has rich people. And in the end our former governor basically got the tiniest slap on the wrist and a fine and people in Flint died and they're still dealing with the poisoned water. The difference is, if she was a republican with this record everyone would be screaming from the rooftops.
I also really would like to see not only TFG indicted for yet another attempt to subvert democracy here in Michigan but I think it's necessary to go after Rona McDaniel as well. Until 15 years ago I was born and raised in Wayne County and what they tried to do is beyond illegal and reprehensible.

I think other states will. We all know that trump will appeal the supreme court decision and whatever becomes of that will be the decisive factor for other states to get him off the ballot as well.
14 other states are currently evaluating similar measures. Expect several to consider barring Biden. The GOP is flailing in retaliation as 45's corruption sees light and they are trying very, very hard to make the 2024 election a moot point.
Several states did, but CO did it first and fastest and best, so most likely everyone else is now going to wait for the SCOTUS decision. I also think other states will. Colorado didn't do it overnight. It was a previous court case that got the Colorado Supreme Court involved. So it took two court cases to get it done in Colorado. Not sure on the amount of time that took (all total) but I'm guessing at least a month. So maybe we'll see something from another state by the end of January (fingers crossed).

The Michigan Sec. of State was very impressive, her articulate update of actions taken by Michigan to protect the election process was a breath of fresh air. This is in stark contrast to Republican actors that are unable to cogently defend actions taken by Republicans to disenfranchise voters.
Fun fact: Trump and his enablers tried everything they could to throw out the entirety of the vote in the 5 largest black majority cities in America. Those cities are Detroit MI, Milwaukee WI, Cleveland OH, Philadelphia PA and Atlanta GA. Had Trump succeeded in his efforts the disenfranchisement of those cities would have resulted in Trump winning MI, WI, PA and GA to go along with OH and Trump would have won the 2020 election. Trump is already casting suspicion on those same cities for the 24 election, proving that Trump will accuse anybody he wants to accuse in order to increase his chances of winning the next election.

I agree except for Whitmer. I canvassed for her and supported her and spoke with her. In the end she had some abysmal failures that have not been talked about on the news. But we have proof if she ever decides to seek higher positions. Plus she never answers questions directly. @@manbtm1 you're pleased with her because you don't need her. Every door I knocked on I asked people what were the biggest issues that were affecting their lives. not one person said fix the damn roads. Those are problems for people who have money.
There are people who have still not gotten their unemployment from the pandemic. We have hundreds of recorded phone calls to show that she had no ability to make them do their job even though she's the one who approves their budget.
Legal aid was overwhelmed with unemployment issues, which made it very hard for people who need legal services to obtain them. I actually don't know anyone who has called whitmer's office and was successful in getting help.
It's despicable and incompetent that during a fearful pandemic and shut down that a governor and is unable to force an agency under her to do their jobs and take care of the temporarily unemployed citizens. I know many people that gave up the thousands of dollars that Michigan unemployment owed them.
Do you know that in Grand Rapids the school children who are from neighborhoods that are predominantly black or brown have to ride the city busses to go and from school? You know how normally a school bus driver is checked out to make sure they're not a child molester and there are only children on the bus? Well the school children are mixed with any child molester that wants to get on the city bus. But the predominantly white neighborhoods have school busses.
This is one of the complaints that her constituents actually had concerns about, not fixing the damn roads.
Try asking her a question. I asked her three questions and she never answered one. She went off on a tangent. Just watch the democrat debate she had before the first election. One of my questions was about getting Justice for flint. she answered by saying can you imagine if this happened in Holland. Of course it wouldn't because Holland is mostly white and has rich people. And in the end our former governor basically got the tiniest slap on the wrist and a fine and people in Flint died and they're still dealing with the poisoned water.
The difference is, if she was a republican with this record everyone would be screaming from the rooftops.
I also really would like to see not only TFG indicted for yet another attempt to subvert democracy here in Michigan but I think it's necessary to go after Rona McDaniel as well. Until 15 years ago I was born and raised in Wayne County and what they tried to do is beyond illegal and reprehensible.

It’s fascinating how so many are showing extreme cowardice by avoiding the decision to bar Fat Donnie from the ballot. One had hoped that the Colorado Supreme Court finally standing up for the law would have led to many more states following their lead. Sad.
I think they're waiting to see what the SCOTUS does first.
I think other states will. We all know that trump will appeal the supreme court decision and whatever becomes of that will be the decisive factor for other states to get him off the ballot as well.
14 other states are currently evaluating similar measures. Expect several to consider barring Biden. The GOP is flailing in retaliation as 45's corruption sees light and they are trying very, very hard to make the 2024 election a moot point.
Several states did, but CO did it first and fastest and best, so most likely everyone else is now going to wait for the SCOTUS decision. The instant SCOTUS rules that the 14th Amendment applies to the orange traitor, I hope ALL STATES will immediately remove not only the orange traitor from the ballots but ALL HIS MINIONS, including legislators from all ballots AND at all levels from office!!!
I also think other states will. Colorado didn't do it overnight. It was a previous court case that got the Colorado Supreme Court involved. So it took two court cases to get it done in Colorado. Not sure on the amount of time that took (all total) but I'm guessing at least a month. So maybe we'll see something from another state by the end of January (fingers crossed).

Sec of State Jocelyn Benson and the many other state officials who stood strong, sounded alarms and served our country during a time of peril are really true American heroes and should be recognized.
The Michigan Sec. of State was very impressive, her articulate update of actions taken by Michigan to protect the election process was a breath of fresh air. This is in stark contrast to Republican actors that are unable to cogently defend actions taken by Republicans to disenfranchise voters.
Fun fact: Trump and his enablers tried everything they could to throw out the entirety of the vote in the 5 largest black majority cities in America. Those cities are Detroit MI, Milwaukee WI, Cleveland OH, Philadelphia PA and Atlanta GA. Had Trump succeeded in his efforts the disenfranchisement of those cities would have resulted in Trump winning MI, WI, PA and GA to go along with OH and Trump would have won the 2020 election. Trump is already casting suspicion on those same cities for the 24 election, proving that Trump will accuse anybody he wants to accuse in order to increase his chances of winning the next election.

Excellent interview....both questions & answers!👍Two parts of the conversation stood out to me. They were as follows:
(1) Ms. Benson's eye-opening summary of the democracy-busting strategy for Michigan, which was hatched/enabled by Trump, his inner circle, McDaniel, pro-MAGA politicians & MAGA-cult foot soldiers. Fortunately Trump's evil plan failed, because of the right decisions of two honest (truly "patriotic') election workers in Wayne County.👍
(2) Ms. Benson's forward-thinking concerns re likely efforts to subvert/control the election by Russia (again), China (again) & Iran. IMHO, she efectively communicated a vital 'call to arms' for the people of Michigan (and all other states)...that 'call to arms' being doing what it takes to protect the integrity of the upcoming elections, and - specifically - to do so by ensuring highly-motivated, well-intentioned & morally/ethically upstanding citizens volunteering to actively support the election process. Excellent! 👍
Quite the contrast to the Rethuglican use of the phrase "election integrity" as a guise for further suppressing the minority vote in America.
