Mind blowing scenery. That rock you sat on is it only recent that you can't ride up there? I've seen videos Paddy Doyle has a good one where he rides out there and there's others there for sunset. His face when be saw that drop though was priceless. It's becoming on the top of my bucket list now. Thanks heaps.
I think those teenage boys scammed us; you can probably just ride up by yourself. Not that it matters much; it was fun going up as a passenger on the back. I’m glad we did it and was happy that there were no large tour groups up there.
We got very lucky with the weather and left before the typhoon hit. Right now I hear the road to Ha Giang is blocked by a landslide and that buses are not currently operating. Have a look on the Ha Giang Loop facebook page for up to date info on the situation.
The views, especially the one in this episode with the little balcony, stupendous.
Just shows how tough those little bikes are, who needs a big powerful ADV.

You’re there at the best uncrowded time of the year, in the high season it is probably spoilt with too many tourists.
You bet! We got lucky with the weather though.
Hey mate, any concerns on the loop, or getting to/from the loop from Hanoi after the typhoon?
