@@upperleftnorthwest4278 I have a 2005 4Runner daily driver/offroader with 220k miles and blasted clearcoat. Not worth a $5k paint job. But showing up with a trashy looking car puts on a poor image. Maaco offers a "barely good enough" product that matches my Amazon/Walmart lifestyle. Yippee.

that's a great looking color I had a Maaco paint my 2006 Charger R/T and they were able to get rid of the ugly ass faded racing stripes and painted it the original factory like metallic blue.......when I got back to the shop, I was shocked at how gorgeous my car looked. The specific location could have done a better job at masking my windows (I had to straight razor some overspray off them) and should have cleaned my mats they got dirty with dust, but overall for the low prices that the company offers. The quality is pretty damn good and if you take care of your vehicle, you can make that paint last for quite a long time with even the single stage jobs (cheapest route)
With this specific paintjob yes since there is a separate clear coat on top of the base coat like with oem paint. If you paid less for the single stage maaco both the clear & base coat are blended in which makes detailing very difficult
Way back in the day I had maaco paint an 87 supra, but my dad and I did all the prep work, pulled all the lights, grill, and trim off and masked everything ourselves, well mostly my dad as he used to be a bodyman and painter, but he refused to paint my car because he retired from that and didn't want to risk messing his garage up, anyways, it turned out excellent, except one spot on the front bumper where they accidentally dragged the air hose across it, but they fixed it with no hassle. Was tempted to use them again for another project I have coming up. But you're looks pretty good.

That’s the color I want the new army green color that’s on the new 4Runners, I own a 2021 Toyota 4Runner nightfall Edition, it’s a blue one, I’m wanting to get my 1991 Chevy G20 van painted in this army green color I think it looks badass Man, If not army green I like the new dove gray color too!
How much more would they charge to do a really good job? Removing glass instead of taping off, I dont like how cheaper paint jobs they tend to just mask off the windows & moldings, but then the tape lines you can see & feel
I honestly think it depends on how the car is stored after paintwork. I garage my 4runner so its been holding up pretty well. Im sure if you kept it outside the paint would end up bubbling & peeling within a couple years

I’ve been checking out Macco paint shop. I would want a color change no jams either, but I wanted a real pretty metallic shiny blue. Would they mask off your fender trim guards. I think the over quality depends on what shop you go to… what’s your feeling would you do it again, go to Macco??
I nean you can request to have the fender trim guards masked off but it would be better to just replace on your own. If i had a bigger budget i would go to a different body shop. For the condition of my vehicle Maaco was perfect

Ill make an update video when i have some time. Its actually been 2 years since i got it painted & its actually held up very well. Ive put about 20-25 thousand miles on the 4runner since the paint job & theres chips & some wear & tear but i keep it garaged when not driven. No clearcoat peeling or anything either

@@dand33911 i spent $300 in materials including primer, rattle can color matched paint, 2K clear & sandpaper to see if i could salvage the original color & i would happily pay maaco to do it again 10 times over. The labor in itself to paint is too much work

I think it depends on the maaco. The one i went to didnt give me that option.
