Thanks for the preview. We hiked up the Glen yesterday and it was totally awesome. Water flow was better than in your video and quite magical. Hiked down the Indian/North trail thinking we would avoid the steps down. Boy were we wrong, but at least they were dry
Useful tip for non pros: wear a shoe that you don’t like or an old one (make sure it is still comfortable) because it will all be covered in mud by the time you are over
Heh:) I just came back from there yesterday. wanted to see more vids on youtube :) I absolutely loved Watkins Glen. We hiked it through 3 times. Stayed at the campground right next to it. Also went to a Taughannock Falls State Park on Cayuga lake. Another awesome place.,
I was just here recently, it was a great hike to do and it was free right now. I enjoyed filming its as well and wanted to see what others had filmed here. nice work! :)
Thanks, Watkins Glen is such a cool place. I see you had a few videos from NYS. If you make it our way again, definitely check out Letchworth State Park. Thank for watching!
Thank you for those kind words. Unfortunately I cannot update the video, TH-cam does not allow it. I am sure every falls has a name. I just went with the landmarks identified on the park map. Thank you so much for watching!
No worries, I was not offended at all. I wish I could update after the fact. But in order to re-upload, you need to delete the old one and lose the links, comments, etc. I love learning the names of each feature. I really appreciate the nice comment.
You will love it. With the recent rains, the waterfalls should be flowing more than in my video. I am not sure if the visitors center is open or not, best to call. It changes often.
I took my wife here from all the way in Toronto when we were dating and she loved it so much we did our engagement photos a year later. Especially in the spring when the waters are heavily flowing does it really feel like you're on a fantasy set like Lord of the Rings etc...
Per the NYSDEC page, Pet Policy: A maximum of two pets are allowed in campsites and day use areas unless prohibited by sign or directive (not allowed on Gorge Trail). Pets are to be supervised at all times and either be crated or on a leash not more than 6-feet in length. Proof of rabies inoculation shall be produced if requested by staff. Pets are not permitted in playgrounds, buildings, golf courses, boardwalks, pools and spray-grounds or guarded beaches (this does not apply to service animals).
Unfortunately Watkins Glen is setup for loads of tourists. There can be bus loads. There are several amazing gorges in the Ithaca area that are slightly less crowded.
Came here with my three year old this summer and had to carry him up all 800 steps. Lol great workout
That’s a good workout for sure, see you outside!
Man this is a cool spot, it's cool to see all the rock formations throughout the trail and the waterfall itself is a good one!
Super cool, even more impressive when there is better flow going through. It can roar through the Glen.
this park is so beautiful
It is a real gem in NYS. Thanks for watching!

Glad you enjoyed it! Hopefully you see some of the other great places near by in Ithaca. See you outside!
Loved the gorge trail at Watkins Glen. The cascades and waterfalls were non-stop.
There are so many amazing waterfalls in the Watkins Glen to Ithaca area. I wish I hit Watkins Glen at higher water. Thanks for the comment.

Good tip, the stone work can get pretty sloppy.
Worst tip you can give hahahah get the shoes for this type of activities and that's it.
I haven't been there in years. Awesome video, Mike!
Thanks so much!
It’s amazing! We went there last week but all gate was closed. We’ll come back again. Thank you!
Looks like the gorge trail open on Memorial Day. Definitely check it out.
Thanks for letting me know I was going to visit in a few weeks not if we wont be able to see everything
@@dollabillz4210 I heard that they would open the gate from memorial days weekend😊
I stay very near to it but never got a chance to visit this place. Will plan this time. Good work dear.
Thank you, you will love the hike through the gorge.
Recently in July 2021 visited this place with my better half. Nice spot . We enjoyed.
Glad you enjoyed it. NY State has so many things to offer outdoor enthusiasts.

Very cool, there are some great waterfalls in the Finger Lakes region.
Wonder of nature 👍
Watkins Glen is a beautiful place. Thanks for watching.

@@OutsideChronicles Thanks!!
amazing video we were up this way a couple weeks ago but we didn't get down to WG now we have to go back!!!
It is a super cool hike. One of the most unique I have ever been on.
Amazing.
Great video! Haven’t been to the Glen since my Boy Scout days. Need to get there soon!
It is beautiful. I would suggest when there is a bit more flow (ie rain). Thanks for watching!
We are supposed to be in this area in June and can't wait to be there! Great video guys. Lynn and Danny
You will love it, the waterfalls should be flowing much more in June than when we went in this vide. Enjoy!
Love your content.
I was there today. Will be posting my video too 🤝
Watkins Glen is super cool, hopefully it was not too busy and the falls had good flow. I will look out for the video.
WoW!!! What a beautiful place.!🤙
Totally check it out if ever in the NYS Finger Lakes region. Really unique, not only with the geology and waterfalls, but also the stone structures.
Lots of fun!
Glad you enjoyed Watkins Glen, such a cool place.
Nice man! Just visited there with my wife/kids and did a video as well - such a cool spot.
If you liked Watkins Glen, be sure to check out Letchworth State Park.
@@OutsideChronicles Thanks! Will do
You did a great very professional job. You need to put in a marker for Pluto Falls, the final one going up the gorge.
Thank you for those kind words. Unfortunately I cannot update the video, TH-cam does not allow it. I am sure every falls has a name. I just went with the landmarks identified on the park map. Thank you so much for watching!
It was an extremely minor criticism. I have never seen a better video tour through this impressive gorge.

Amazing video and wonderful park. How did you mange to get there from Manhattan please?
Google?
I live in Buffalo, NY. I drove!
Is the visitor center open? Going next weekend. Can't wait

My eyes say yes but my knees say no. 😢
Great video
Thanks you! Thanks for watching!
A great place been their a few times....
Yes, it’s not a long hike, but worth it if you are in the area.
Great video! you make really great videos. What do you use to edit videos?
I use DaVinci Resolve to edit my videos. It is free and there are a ton of tutorials on TH-cam. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the video. It is a beautiful place.
I'm headed there this weekend. I'm hoping it's not crowded.
You will love it, but I would expect a crowd on the weekend. Get there early.
@@OutsideChronicles thank you!! If it's way crowded, I will go south to the waterfalls near Montour Falls.
I took my wife here from all the way in Toronto when we were dating and she loved it so much we did our engagement photos a year later. Especially in the spring when the waters are heavily flowing does it really feel like you're on a fantasy set like Lord of the Rings etc...
Yes, very Middle Earth looking.
Wow
I wonder if they allow to use drone?
Not without a permit in NYS Parks
You didn't mention how long it took you for each area.
It is not a long hike, time depends on how fast you hike, how many pictures you take, and how busy it is.
I want to go!
Don’t hesitate, it is a cool place!
We are making plans to go this month!!!
We finally got there, it's beautiful, so many trails, it was great!
@@bonitalawrence8436 glad you enjoyed it!
Where do I begin?
At the bottom of the Glen: parks.ny.gov/parks/watkinsglen/maps.aspx
2:05 I see Wisconsin. Weird.
wow! Good catch!
Can I go with my dog?

Shame about the crowds. Just plain ruins it for me. I'd rather go to a lesser place with nobody around
