I use to go here as a child I am 63 years old an haven't been back since the late 1970s. Thanks for posting this video. I can remember running down in the Glenn as a child. The air was so cool. Wish I could make it back one day.
Thanks for Watching! Great Waterfalls! In addition to the Watkins Glenn and Eternal Flame Falls videos just launched, we will have even more Waterfall Videos out in July! Don't miss the Colossal Niagara Falls and two amazing secret spots in Illinois just south of Chicago!
We were there on Sunday and my son had so much fun. We usually hike to the rainbow falls and then walk back. But this time my 7 year old wanted to keep going. We walked the whole gorge trail, then walked up to the rim trail, and walked across the gorge bridge. It is so beautiful there and can't wait to go back. There are other great gorges and waterfalls in that area. Some of our favorites are Havana Glen park, Robert H. Treman State park, Ithaca Falls, and Tauhannock Falls State Park.
I’m 10 minutes away from WGSP and I have visited hundreds of times. WGSP is one of my favorite places in our area. Your video captured it so well. It was like seeing something I’d never seen before. Thank you so much for sharing our park. ❤❤
Thanks you so much! We love comments like this! Have a great time and thanks for watching How To Have Fun Outdoors! Subscribe! It really helps the channel!
Friends would casually mention that WGSP was nice, beautiful etc. Then on a trip back to Buffalo from Maine someone suggested we take a detour and stop here. I was mildly interested. OMG! Blown away!
Pete, this park is amazing! You guys have to go! Letchworth and Niagara videos should be out soon! Coming also! Did you check out the Eternal flame falls video yet? 💦💦🔥🔥
Hi it is amazing, may you suggest me , the easiest way to entrance from which gate? I will bring a group here for about 30 persons mix young and elderly, main entrance is the best way and accessible? Thanks for your advises
Hi Budi, I would recommend the front main gate. Plenty of parking, big open area with gift shop and visitor center. Thanks for watching How To Have Fun Outdoors! Share the channel with friends!
A very nice video! Photography was excellent. But sorry, there are at least 10 other NY state parks with more visitors every year. Niagara Falls State Park alone attracts almost 10 million people a year! And of course, it's one of the great wonders of the world!
Hello Alice and Tom, Very informative video. Thanks. Can you advise where you purchased the harness back pack for your lovely furry darlings? WE are taking our Morkie with us and he weights 15lbs
Thanks for watching. Not sure on the cabins! But we feel Western NY is a great place to stay! If you stay the night you can actually do wine and Watkins in a day or even letchworth and Watkins in a full day. Great place to visit! Letchworth video will be out Sunday! Niagara Falls the week after!
Dogs are not allowed in this area (inner trail). However, if you have a little dog and you can have him in a backpack like the ones we have in the video and they are not on the ground, then they look the other way as it is no different than having a baby in a backpack. The park people were all super nice to us. If you have a bigger dog, they will not allow for sure. However you can take bigger dogs on the outer trail with no issue. Unfortunately the views are not as good. Hope this helps. That is the benefit of Yorkies!
We will be traveling with just one Yorkie. Do you have video monitoring and temp monitoring in the van for them. I'm interested in what systems everyone has... Thanks
Hi Sherry, great questions. Yes we have both. In our coachmen beyond we have AGS temp control. It works from winter Vermont to Florida. It will automatically kick on the heat or AC in summer. You must have this type of system to travel with animals. The van can get very hot fast without a temp control system. We also have video monitoring. But we try to take the dogs everywhere when possible. We have a lot of travel gear for them. Water and food for them is key. But our Yorkies are more like golden retrievers at this point. They swim and hike all the time. Amazing dogs. Good luck with yours!
Thank you for the tour! We are visiting in August. Do you mind telling me which carrier you use for your dog? We have a havanese who will be coming along and he doesn't seem too comfortable in the current carrier we have for him. TIA
Hi Sheela! We got the carriers through Amazon. They are Pawaboo Pet Carrier Backpack! Here is the link: smile.amazon.com/dp/B08TBNYCWZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_BS1CD670VRZHE44D92WW?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 Both Rocky and Gypsy love it!
We try to visit in the evening. Less people and better filming with the evening lights. We also nailed the timing for rainbow falls at Watkins and getting to see the rainbow! On Watkins we hit it perfect. Letchworth we were a little late as the park is so huge. I recommend a full day for Letchworth and Niagara Falls!
Thanks for not telling us the exact time to see the rainbow waterfall . That was nice of u to just screw us like that . Like cmon what time . How do u utter that sentence out and not say the time . Messed up for real
Lol our fav comment ever. So this is a little tricky as the day of year changes the time of the day. In addition, pending clouds, sun, etc are all variables. But to answer your question for us it was around 4:47 in the beginning of June. Hope that helps @ST69 and Thanks for watching How To Have Fun Outdoors!!

What kind of shoes did you use to go to Watkins Glen State Park? Regular or waterproof hiking shoes? Please advise. Thanks!
You can use both. We have tennis shoes. But nice water shoes would be ideal in summer. Thanks for watching How To Have Fun Outdoors!
Love your content.
I was there today. Will be posting my video too 🤝
Thanks and Thanks for watching How To Have Fun Outdoors! We will check it out.

Right from downtown. Thanks for watching How To Have fun Outdoors! SHARE/LIKE/SUBSCRIBE!
Great video! What time of the year did you go?
I've always gone when it's too chilly and packed, or too warm when there's no water
Early Summer! We agree with you! Early summer is best! Thanks for watching How To have Fun Outdoors! LIKE/SUBSCRIBE/SHARE

Good point! We looked it up and you seem to be correct. I guess the ranger was just a little too bias. Thanks for watching How To Have Fun Outdoors!
Very nice, what did you film on?
Thanks for watching!!! GoPro 9 and 12 Pro.
Hello Alice and Tom,
Very informative video. Thanks. Can you advise where you purchased the harness back pack for your lovely furry darlings? WE are taking our Morkie with us and he weights 15lbs
Amazon! I will try to find the link for you. They work great!! But they have them. Thanks for watching How To Have Fun Outdoors!
Hi guys, nice video, nice place! Are there wood cabins for rent close to the park, and do you think is worthy to spend the night in that area?
Thanks for watching. Not sure on the cabins! But we feel Western NY is a great place to stay! If you stay the night you can actually do wine and Watkins in a day or even letchworth and Watkins in a full day. Great place to visit! Letchworth video will be out Sunday! Niagara Falls the week after!
how long can you tour the park
You could spend a good 3-4 hours there. If you did lunch even more. Great place.
@@HowToHaveFunOutdoors thanks bro
Is okay for solo trip? It's safe to go alone?
Yes, very safe. It is a great park. Thanks for watching How To Have Fun Outdoors!
I thought they don’t allow dog in this part of area? I’m visiting in two weeks so is dog allow?

They're going to have change their sign one Governor is forced out of office!
Yep, at least the park will still be awesome!
Hi, is it the same trail going back down?
This is the inner trail! Thanks for watching How To Have Fun Outdoors!!

Hi. It looks pretty empty. Did you visit at an early time?
We try to visit in the evening. Less people and better filming with the evening lights. We also nailed the timing for rainbow falls at Watkins and getting to see the rainbow! @@HowToHaveFunOutdoors thank you for the reply. What time would you recommend visiting? And also did you go during a weekday?
Weekdays are always the best. Try to get there around 2-3. Monday to Thursdays are best for less people at the National or State parks!
Actually Niagara Falls State Park attracts 9 million people a year. Hard to beat those numbers.
Agree! Thanks for watching How To Have Fun Outdoors!
Como se llega a cuánto tiempo queda de NY😊
Gracias!!
Queda un poco más de cuatro horas. Nosotros fuimos y venimos en un día
Gran parque estatal. Gracias por ver
