The last two didn't really "return" though, did they? If they're only credited as composers (and not arrangers), it's likely because they made the original track, not the remix.
Add in that the Khura'in tracks have an almost identical group of instruments, and they blend together. I think this will be a good thing in-game as it will feel more connected, but for listening purposes it's kinda meh.
I'm generally surprised at how good the OST is after all. It feels video gamey like the OSTs for the main games in the series used to. Still have a little soft spot for DD's OST but I like how much more synthy and beepy a lot of this music is.
They did a better job than I thought they would. Still quite salty about Phoenix's objection theme being the same. Ending up with 0 new objection theme is a real bummer. "Cross-examination" themes are really good and will work well to set it apart from DD. "Defendant Lobby" from Apollo's side is also quite good, DD wasn't up to par on this track compared to AJ. I don't know what "The Basics of the Case"' equivalent is in previous AA but it is a terrific track. "Core" is incredible, the best with AA1 and AJ. "Confess the Truth" works well as a remix of DD's but doesn't quite get to the level of AA1 and 3. Also, the "Trial" track in Apollo's side is good but not to the level of AA3. I believe this track is especially important because it had some incredible use outside of the beginning of trials in AA3 as it was made to perfectly made the mood and we never got the same kind of use from this track ever since. I guess I'll wait until I play the game to hear it in context but it doesn't pack the same punch as AA3's. A much stronger soundtrack than I expected but still hampered by the lack of new objection themes. I still consider them as game themes rather than character themes so it still strikes me as a lack of identity from the game itself. At least DGS is there to fill my need of fresh content and with Yasumasa Kitagawa as a newcomer to the series, I know the musical future of the series is in good hands.
Y'know how the logic theme always plays during the opening statement or during prosecutor's argument? That's where "The Basics of the Case" plays. It's essentially, "the prosecutor's logic"

One of the best, if not the best, Ace Attorney soundtracks. So many great songs, but overall the music is good, which is rare among the rest of the series IMO. For those of you who love the "Menyo Yamashino Theme," this is different from the piece you hear in the game, so enjoy that! Now I'm wondering if that second half exclusive to the official soundtrack is referencing something. There's a leitmotif or melody there that calls back to something but I can't recognize it off the top of my head.
All ethniclike music It is quite Japanese in the core But with added things like (At least I think it sounds like. +AlphaBagel I think this one's exactly what Iwadare had wanted, but later added synth since the strings are too weak. The synth does sounded a little out of place though, so for me it's a little better (if only the strings are stronger...)
I swear certain songs in this upload have layering problems. The changes in Objection 2016 sound more like one of the layers is missing than a change. It feels like the background layers are louder in certain parts.

The second game was pretty good, but I skipped a lot of it. The third game was amazing, and Dahlia made an amazing villain. That one was automatically my favorite of the trilogy. Apollo Justice was my least favorite. Dual Destinies made up for that. And I've been waiting for a few months for this game and it was worth it. Especially the music. The something I was talking about earlier is how amazing it is to have nostalgia from music you've only been hearing for 6 months.
Well, but there's a CD with the best of the Ace Attorney music coming soon that features two bonus tracks, and maybe one of those will be the final promo theme!
There's also an extra instrument at the beginning (I'm too tired to look it up) that was also used in the Last Promotion version of DD. Now that I think about it, this version relates more to the Last Promotion version of the SoJ objection except not orchestra.
Also, there's a few parts (Notably the intro) where the electric-guitar type instrument/synth is removed. In the original version, it's there, but here it's either gone or significantly reduced.

It's a good OST, though in my opinion Dual Destinies has more hummable tunes. This OST has some really great gems, don't get me wrong.

+AlphaBagel I think this one's exactly what Iwadare had wanted, but later added synth since the strings are too weak. The synth does sounded a little out of place though, so for me it's a little better (if only the strings are stronger...)

I swear certain songs in this upload have layering problems. The changes in Objection 2016 sound more like one of the layers is missing than a change. It feels like the background layers are louder in certain parts.
It's the OST versions not the upload itself.
No, that's what I mean. There are parts of the OST where it sounds like the layering is off, but if you've heard it as it appeared on CD then you know better than me of course.

I started watching Ace Attorney games online at March 2016. The first game grabbed my attention. The second game was pretty good, but I skipped a lot of it. The third game was amazing, and Dahlia made an amazing villain. That one was automatically my favorite of the trilogy.
Apollo Justice was my least favorite. Dual Destinies made up for that. And I've been waiting for a few months for this game and it was worth it. Especially the music.
The something I was talking about earlier is how amazing it is to have nostalgia from music you've only been hearing for 6 months.
DatBlooper99 The Investigations games also have amazing music, the second one more than the first in my opinion.

Holy shit, the Objection theme is a hella lot different here.
Yep, no synth.
There's also an extra instrument at the beginning (I'm too tired to look it up) that was also used in the Last Promotion version of DD. Now that I think about it, this version relates more to the Last Promotion version of the SoJ objection except not orchestra.
Also, there's a few parts (Notably the intro) where the electric-guitar type instrument/synth is removed. In the original version, it's there, but here it's either gone or significantly reduced.
