Im on the fence if i should get the nomad or the ares 2023 version (ares now has a 2wd geardrive aswell. just like the nomad... So basically .. which deck did you like more? :)
If you simply compare the two boards to a 2WD gear drive, there seems to be no difference in power performance. However, the movement performance will be slightly different due to the difference in the use of the split-angle deck. However, on the other hand, since the wheelbase of Ares is a little longer, the stability of the movement of the two boards seems to be difficult to determine. The deck is carbon or wood... I think that would be the biggest criterion.

I wonder how long can this gear drive survive before changing the 'white' part. Is here someone who made 1k miles on it or more? I would love to hear your feedback.
The white part is not just plastic, but a type of engineering plastic called POM (synthetic resin material). It is a material that is already used in various fields such as automobiles, electric and electronic products, household goods, and industrial machinery due to its excellent rigidity and wear resistance. And it also has the characteristic of suppressing noise generation compared to metal during friction.
Are they using xt90 or xt60 connectors for the battery to the esc. I havent opened mine yet. Thinking about having a top mount 14s2p molicel added for more range.
Just ordered the middle verion. It use gear drive. But I have a question. If I want to change the tire to ST. Should I also change the geardrive and install belt to use it?
If you wanted to use ST wheels, you should have chosen the Nomad belt drive version from the time of purchase. It is cumbersome in the gear drive state, but you have to remove the gear drive and install the motor mount of the belt drive. However, this is not a simple task.
@@KAMiJUINs yup I understand that the belt drive is go to for ST wheels. just curious if gerdrive is also possible. I think I will modified it somehow, but for now AT wheels is enough. thanks man

Overall is a good performance board but I don't see the point of using multi-layers materials for a stiff deck( Battery enclosure box showing not for flex for sure) if they are not intended to let riders feel the flex. Why not using carbon deck to save some weight. Could it be for the aesthetic reason? The deck does look eye-catching. Kind of like the Hoyt Tabor.
Well, I don't think multi-layered composition is just because of flexibility. A while ago one of my subscribers asked me about the 3K carbon deck break. It's been about two years since we've had a lot of carbon decks in earnest, and I think the carbon decks that were released in the early days are starting to have problems with durability. Carbon is strong and light, but it is more than a certain thickness. Different companies may have different standards, but carbon decks used as boards are usually made thin, so it can be difficult to guarantee durability. In that sense, I think a multi-layered wooden deck can have better durability against repeated shocks. Especially where the truck is mounted...
From what I’ve heard as well, Acedeck didn’t want the tier 3 Nomad N1 to be over $2000. So the board is wood; which is cheaper And the cells are unfortunately 40Ts (which have half the life cycle of molicel).
What do you think would be a better choice? the Gear Drive / 90A / 14s3p Molicel P42A Or Gear Drive / 90A / 14s4p Samsung 40T. What’s the difference? (Besides range and power). Longevity? Worse battery sag?
14s3p moli = Max discharge rate 135A / battery capacity 635.04 Wh 14s4p sam = Max discharge rate 140A / battery capacity 806.4 Wh Of course, the larger the capacity, the better range. Since the power is generated as much as the current output of the ESC, both are the same.(90A) Also, if the max discharge rate is higher, the voltage sagging phenomenon will be less.
@@KAMiJUINs - holy crap this is convoluted… So the 40T’s will have less sag, even though their life span is like 250-300 cycles. But molicel has a 500 cycle life and, from what I’ve read, does better in cold temps. This still doesn’t help make my decision any easier 😅
As far as I know, the life cycle of 40T is not that short... In particular, in terms of cell stability, 40T is evaluated to be better. If it were me, of course, I would go to Samsung.
Thank you for watching :) And Overall, it wasn't a bad range. As I said in the video, I had a really aggressive ride. In my experience, if I had cruised, I could have recorded around 35 miles.

14s3p moli = Max discharge rate 135A / battery capacity 635.04 Wh
14s4p sam = Max discharge rate 140A / battery capacity 806.4 Wh
Of course, the larger the capacity, the better range.
Since the power is generated as much as the current output of the ESC, both are the same.(90A)
Also, if the max discharge rate is higher, the voltage sagging phenomenon will be less.
@@KAMiJUINs - holy crap this is convoluted…
So the 40T’s will have less sag, even though their life span is like 250-300 cycles.
@@KAMiJUINs - thank you for your input 🙏.
@@KAMiJUINs- Samsung 40T - max capacity: 4000. Discharge current: 45. Life cycle: 250/60%
Molicel p42a - max capacity: 4000
Discharge current: 45. Life cycle: 500/80%.
🤔
This seems like a great board, but it weighs as much as my e-bike! 🏋🏿♀️
Boards with gear drives are a bit heavier~
Wow 14S Board !! Nice
Thank you brother :)
That's a beautiful powerful board for sure, but 25 mile range for a 143 lbs rider?!? That's very disappointing 😢
Thank you for watching :) And Overall, it wasn't a bad range.
As I said in the video, I had a really aggressive ride. In my experience, if I had cruised, I could have recorded around 35 miles.
sick vid and board but the price on these are the same as a dirt bike, yeah nah
Because the types of fun are different, I think it's difficult to compare simply by price.
Thank you for watching :)
Dirt bikes are 1000 USD?
