  • 2022 may not have been a productive year for me, but 2023 is shaping up to be a highly motivating year! I will be at HeritageCon (March), IPMS Nationals (August), and CapCon (October). Let's take a look at what projects I am working on and what videos are coming down the pipeline.

    DISCLAIMER: I am not paid to promote any specific products or brands; I just use the products I find work best for me through my experiences. There is no reason for me to promote a bad product, as then I would not enjoy using it, not like the result on my model, and not be proud of publicizing it in a video. There's also no point in me doing this to keep up relations with a company if the only benefit would be getting more of the same products that I didn't like. I have not used every product out there, but from what I have used, I keep using the products I like, and that's why I use them in my videos. You can use whatever other products you would like to and you can feel that they are better - that is your opinion, and is perfectly fine by me, thus I hope that feeling is reciprocated.

    The German staff ordered the smoke dischargers removed after reports came in that small arms fire was causing the smoke dischargers to go off. Not all units removed them. Putting the helmets around the smoke dischargers was a way to try and protect the smoke dischargers from damage.

    Your old video about how to oil dot filter and other oil techniques , is one I direct new armour modellers to often , as it's a great technique. Forgiving for the beginner and give really good results, and as you say , if you don't like it-- it is very reversible . Can't believe that was 2017 though . Always liked your post build reviews, which virtually nobody else does ..."what's in the box is such a nonsense" . Hope you get you're mojo back this year and hi from the UK.

    Great review! I've really found your painting and weathering videos very useful. the techniques you teach have certainly increased my enjoyment of painting and weathering my builds. You mentioned that you will be attending CAPCON 2023 in Ottawa and that you would be doing some live demos. It would be great to see a live demo of your hairspray chipping, I've been struggling to get mine to look right and seeing it done in person would really help. Thanks for the channel update, will look forward to the various paintjobs through the year!
    I wanted to encourage you to try sculpting weld beads again. I'm certain your fine motor skills are good enough to judge by your painted scratching, and seeing you manipulate the tweezers in your next video 👍If it's been a couple/few years since you last tried it you probably just need to try again to prove this to yourself. Or maybe you just need to try doing it with a different putty (more on this below). Honestly, I think making the C-shaped tool might actually be the hardest part!
    On epoxies, I can't remember how short the curing time is on the Tamiya stuff but I think it sets relatively fast? If it does, deffo worth trying something else like Kneadatite (Green Stuff) or MagicSculpt. Although I'm not a fan of it, even Milliput might be better, assuming you have any..... and assuming it hasn't gone off in the box! 😁

    • @Panzermeister36
      @Panzermeister36  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the awesome comment! Yes, I really should try the welds again. Honestly, it's not a skill issue, but more of a time issue. It takes a while to do the welds by hand and if my projects drag on for too long I can get burned out. I did finish the T-34 turret yesterday using Archer weld decals for the turret and it was very easy....I should have just done that years ago!

I connected the wires between the units based on some reference photos...it's not entirely accurate but it's close enough.

    One project in a year? That sounds familiar! I did only one project as well. Got around 9 models in progress in various level of completion. For me the worst part is always weathering and I usually give up on that and start assembling another kit.This year I decided I go full steam ahead with one kit at the time. Currently I am working on T-62 by Zvezda. Quite a good kit.

    • @Panzermeister36

    Hi, In regard to the panzer art bags, well judging by the narrow tracks hung with the s hooks there it seems that they were meant for an earlier P3, built picture be damned.
    With regards to the T-34-57, did you sand off the little platform on which the two jacks sit? Or the rod box stays a bit skewed o your model? The panzer art mantlet is way too narrow and you probably need to shave off the shield entirely and glue what remains to the kit shields, so you could also simulate the blowtorch cut on the top of it.
    Did you change the rear tow hooks to the weird j shaped ones (see cosbear's site for reference, or any other place)?

    • @red0guy
      @red0guy ปีที่แล้ว

      Also the rounded mesh cover seems more of a prewar feature of the t-34, for the 57 I think the regular, squared, should be used.

    • @Panzermeister36
      @Panzermeister36  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Gabriel. The tracks shown are actually "type 2" which are the standard wider tracks, just without the slots for the ice cleats that we usually expect. These tracks are common if north Africa, but are more common on Ausf.H and J. And the H has a different front as I discussed that fits the part better, so, maybe that is the mystery solved!
      For the T-34/57, I believe I made these changes you've mentioned back when I built this thing 2 years ago. But I'll have to double-check. I'm pretty sure the mesh with rounded edges is correct for this factory production. But thank you for the heads-up about the PanzerArt mantlet!

    Great video. 👍 I find it odd everyone who builds the panzer III always want to cover the driver or co-driver position hatches with sandbags.? I've seen an M that's got grain bags on the front but there clear of the entrance hatches.. Anyway I'm really looking forward to the Tamiya 70. I have saved all my steel wheels off an old Dragon kit. And if I want to go full R-tard on it I can remove the ones I have off of my Tamiya Brummbar. Then add all the Dragon set onto the Brummbar. And have a full set of Tamiya for my 70 kit. Very excited for it. I have the VERY old Dragon 70 but it BLOWS. 😁 looking forward to anything your posting forsure. Anyway God bless

    • @Panzermeister36
      @Panzermeister36  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello Clayton. Those hatches aren't actually useable by the crew to get in and out. They are purely for maintenance of the transmission. They have to climb up through the turret, or use the hull side escape hatches.
      The Tamiya L/70 is definitely getting a lot of people excited! Glad that this ugly duckling of a vehicle is getting some attention.

      Smart Kits are the now standard series with many details, photoetched metal, often individual-link tracks (or DS tracks), etc. The term smart kit is to separate them from the 1990s "imperial series" kits. Black Label kits are something you need to avoid. They are all quite bad.
