Those Mk2D carriages were beautiful - in both design, livery and comfort - better still when hauled by a Deltic! InterCity had some very stylish advertising at the time.

These trains had proper restaurant cars as well. None of these aircraft meals in first class and the rubbish train shop you have now in standard class.

Instead of imposing LTNs which just shove congestion problems onto surrounding roads, how about we bring back British Rail for freight and swap road tax for rail travel subsidy - more rolling stock and reasonable fares. We have only one planet, one Mother Earth. We have to do something and already the tin can has been identified as something which needs tro go. Electric cars aren’t the solution, reducing the number of cars IS.

Trainspotting as a lad of 10 years at Selby saw all the deltics regularly.. still have the notes!...

I had thousands of miles with deltics from 1978 onward but I have no log of having St Paddy.

Guessing this must be pre 1976, as there's no mention of the 125....or any shots of one. Perhaps around 1973 or 74? Good piece of archive footage!
Yes. It's probably c.1972-75 as ST Paddy has the pre-TOPS number D9001.
