      As a born Muslim, I can also relate to this. A sense of community and belonging makes all the difference in our journey of becoming stronger Muslims. How can we expect our Muslim communities to be good to reverts, when they are not even supportive to the born Muslims? To them, they only support financially, people in other corners of the globe, or compete to fundraise for bigger and better masjids, rather than provide moral support to their own who need moral and social support. I have been experiencing this throughout my life, and if my iman was any weaker, I would have left it years ago.

    I agree, the first 5 years of a revert/convert are critical. I learned very early on that, I’m on my own when it comes to Islam. Sadly, the Ummah is very racist, and if you are not included in a Muslim Community, it’s very hard. Taqwa is very important, and your one, on one, relationship with God is pertinent. Alhamdulillah.

    I really appreciated this. I'm a revert from Canada and I come from a Catholic family (I was always disturbed by the teachings/practices)
    It's definitely better to have a community or supportive group who constantly remind you of Allah (SWT), especially if people in your own family or friends have rejected you. When you're lonely, I think contemplating on a surah we can relate to is helpful - for me, it's the story of Prophet Ibrahim (AS). And I found fulfilling tahajjud/night prayer always hits different

    There is a big lack in emotional intelligence when people try to give dawah to others. People need to remember everyone's journey to Islam is very personal and different to someone else's. What is guiding one person may not suit someone else. I had a lot of people tell me to stop listening to certain sheikhs or stop reading about Imam Ghazali and his teachings because of sufi influence. And yes, doubts are really hard to shift when people start with the unsolicited advice. If something is helping you to stay on deen or get closer to your deen, hold onto it and stay away from people that will be the cause of pulling you away from it.

    • @dexydex514
      @dexydex514 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This advice seems to be genuine and harmless but it's really dangerous, if people started following their emotions, desires, miss understandings and calling that as their own personal journey, then they may end up surely getting out of the path, following scholars who uses quran and sunna is never a wrong thing to do, and if they told you not to follow a certain sheikh and told you the reasons why, then instead of using your emotions and getting lost, do the right thing and make research, if you think that would be too hard for you and it doesn't help you to stay on deen because of the doubts, sadly that is a no excuse, once you acknowledge islam is the truth, as a fact not a belief, anything that you would face that wouldn't put your heart into ease, it would be a matter of jihad, matter of you finding out why is that the truth, and why your initial thoughts are wrong, the good part is you will be getting rewarded for it, and this works for everyone.

    • @saaleha6603
      @saaleha6603 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dexydex514 @Dexy Dex Yes, absolutely. Following the quran, sunnah and authentic hadith is literally what we should be doing because they are facts. You can still be following sheikhs that follow this and people can still find faults somewhere, so yes your jihad is always to seek the correct knowledge and seek the truth for your Imaan. Everyones journey is still different from one person to the other 🤷🏽‍♀️

    I'm a revert,from my own experience I was bombarded with a lots of restrictions and knowledge by Muslims colleague. In short, I was overwhelmed that time and distance myself with them because I loss focus . I knew I am in the correct direction but pushing me hard to the Deen to learn all at the same time is next to impossible. Subhanallah, by time, I learned and still learning.Test after test came to my life, Alhamdulillah I survived with the help of Allah subhanahu wa taala
    Please, if you encounter new reverts, don't be harsh in teaching them. Guide them slow until they felt comfortable and don't judge them when they commit mistakes. Just continuously explain clearly the teachings of Islaam and remind them of Allahs mercy,

    Gabriel described what a huge wave of doubts feels like perfectly - it hits you more in the stomach than the mind. You literally feel sick in a weird phycological way when you realize "oh wait maybe this isn't the truth" and that cognitive dissonance can linger for so long, especially after that initial "high" of very strong iman that one can experience in their first few months or years of finding islam.
    As someone still going through that conative dissonance everyday, I can say it's one of the hardest positions to be in because it's like the only position to be in where if you are wrong, there can be detrimental aspects in this life and the hereafter, and there's no way of knowing for sure if you're right or wrong because everyone has their own biases when giving their perspectives (believer vs nonbeliever). I recommend to ask and seek answers for the doubts but also above all else, turn to God and just confess how lost you feel and to guide you to the truth sincerely and genuinely everyday.
    Other than that, I think it's a huge help having conversations like these about doubts and dealing with doubts as people in faith because we really all experience the same feelings and thoughts, we just guilt ourselves in thinking we're the only one's experiencing this so we keep quiet and the issues become unsolved.

    • @Sheragust
      @Sheragust 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Remember that according to *Quran* *3:7* 'Shubuhat' or doubts are put there deliberately by god as a test.
      So having questions isn't a problem it's just working as intended.
      And don't let your mind trick you into overthinking, this is just a general advise.

    My very first Ramadan has to date been my favorite one, nobody even knew I was Muslim but I prayed every single prayer I could, fasted all days I could, I broke fast on my own every night and it came all so easy, the only sadness I felt was from my family not experiencing this wonderful time with me because they’re not Muslim.
    Alhamdullilah for that time but I found that being around born Muslims who don’t take that time very seriously (like they are used to ramadan only being about food- not eating, later preparing food for hours then eating with whole family) will really bring you down spiritually, you almost feel ashamed to do extra acts of worship and being labeled „too much“ or another extremist convert. Similar thing with hijab.

    The reason Muslims are leaving is the same reason Christians, Jews and Hindus (unofficially) are also leaving - post modernism. And also in a world of reason, if religion doesn't contain reason and becomes ideological, people tend to leave.

    On the identity point, look at this organization called Islam 4 Europeans. Basically their idea is to create sub communities for converts of European descent in the West to establish a Western Muslim identity in respective cultures. Similar to how Blacks and Hispanics have made some of their own sub communities in the US with large amounts of success.

      Peace be upon you....
      May Allah swt grant you guidance & beneficial knowledge...
      Allah swt says in the Qur'an
      Az-Zumar 39:53
      قُلْ يَٰعِبَادِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَسْرَفُوا۟ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ لَا تَقْنَطُوا۟ مِن رَّحْمَةِ ٱللَّهِۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَغْفِرُ ٱلذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعًاۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
      Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful."
      I don't know how long you're doing your duas & how you're approaching ....
      And if you have issues with hadiths then you need to study Hadith Science & Jurisprudence (Fiqh) as well...
      And these doesn't work on social media by the way .... You need to study with knowledgeable scholars ...... Just ask yourself do you have a traditional Islamic studies on these fields... Nothing great comes out of nothing..... We need to work on it ..... past scholars spent all their lives into study & research... & what we have done ...... most of the muslims haven't read the Qur'an fully yet ... Far from reading the scholarly works ...
      May Allah swt grant us guidance & beneficial knowledge....aameen

    It’s different in the Salafi community we are all very close even though there’s clashes at times with different masajid it’s still very close and better than a regular masjid because of the high concentration of Qur’aan and Sunnah and they know the rights of people and remain United. We get called Wahhabi but we don’t care

    Honestly dont think many of them are leaving islam, but that they are just starting seeing islam as christians view christianity, from a more cultural and historic lense rather than spiritual/religious, which is ofc borderlien apostasy but that's due to the rampant materialism thats not stopping any time soon.

    Allah says that if a group of muslims leave islam (it can also mean to neglect islam), then He will make another people to go into islam. What i'm seeing is that the number of Europeans/Americans coming into islam will replace the 'muslims' who leave/neglect islam. To what extent Europeans/Americans will come to islam and born-'muslims' will leave, that's a guess

    Thought piece regarding Salman Rushdie....
    This is what my fellow Muslims should do when someone insults our great Nabi (SAW)?
    I believe that when someone insults our Nabi (SAW) it is nothing but a test from Allah'tala.
    Allah is testing us to ensure we maintain our composure, our restraint, our patience, our tolerance against those who degrade the image of our beloved Prophet (SAW).
    Whenever we detect an insult, we should approach those who have no respect for our Nabi (SAW) and embrace them with compassion and humility.
    We must do this to show how amazing Islam is - in that we persevere in the face of hate and criticism. We must love and respect those who hate our Prophet. These are the teachings.
    When these evil people see what Muslims are, and what Islam teaches they will immediately abandon their own belief and accept Islam.
    Our beautiful deen will grow faster than ever before. Alhmadulliah.
    Allah will be pleased as we've passed the test and we will all enter Jannah inshAllah.
    What is happening now is a failed test. After every insult our Muslim brothers and sisters go on a witch hunt against those who insult, with assaults, killings, bombings, stabbings, death threats, violence, anarchy and general mayhem. Even those who silently support these radical Muslims are failing the test. Those who were thinking of embracing Islam will now turn their backs on the greatest religion of Peace because of these extremists. This makes Allah'tala very angry and you will bring his curse upon you.
    Once you fail the test there is no coming back. Jahanam is your final resting place.

    See, your title is giving an impression, it's a rapid action and majority is taking interest in this. Very negative.

    The problem is that new Muslims are being advised to read books of deviants. Abu Hamed Alghazali was one of those who understood Tauheed as „Nobody is in existence except for Allah“. And this is completely nonsense. I would advise you to read books like „The book of Sunna“ from Imam Harb Alkermany. He was one of the disciples of Imam Ahmed Bin Hanbal.

    I have no doubts in Islam. Because I know the meaning of Islam (Submit and Kneel to the Creator's Orders). Who am I to discuss and argue with His commands! I'm nothing, I'm just grateful to Almighty Allah that He decreed to create me a human being not a pig or an ant. Even if Almighty Allah created me as a pig. Then I will submit to His commands. Who am I? I'm a nothin without His wish to create me. By the way, everything in the heavens and earth are submitting to Allah Almighty and they do what they're commanded to do by God. Except human beings and jinn, they have the ability to not submit and argue about Allah's judgements in His authority and power.

    Many people who convert to Islam or revert back to Christianity is because religious organizations provide a sense of community, comradely, fellowship and a sense of belonging. These powerful emotional needs are fulfilled, even if religions are not historically and scientifically accurate or just myths. "ignorance is a bliss" Matrix-quote., ,
