We do see Aira's dad in that flashback. And Jiji does talk about how his parents are in the hospital (later in the manga we see them as well) but we hear NOTHING about Okarun's parents I am concerned for Okarun's home life
Probably the invisible parents trope? But I do hope we get some insight in that later, besides him being rather poor, and never in trouble for being out late and away all the time (at least he shows no sign of it) I also want some background on Momo's parents, and why they are gone (guessing something big and spiritual) Or
@@Bulsara777Same thing what I think. God Seiko might as well adopt Okarun at this point, better than letting him go back to a home we don’t know what his parents are like, if they exist at all.
Okarun expresses that Momo is special to him, to which Jiji basically goes "nuh uh, she's more special to me!" and then they basically launch into a ten year's old one up battle. It's adorable because Jiji isn't trying to steal Momo, he's just trying to be a better friend in a weirdly competitive way. Which I think sums him up the best: Jiji just wants to be everyone's best friend.
One thing that really hits me about Okarun's relationship with Jiji is that it's basically the average friendship between an introvert and an extravert. The introvert yaps their weirdness out into the world and suddenly, a loud-ass person decides to adopt them. It's a dynamic I've seen a lot and even happened to me sometimes, and I find that adorable
Yup, my best friends have often been the extrovert that keeps pushing me to be apart of the group Can be frustrating, but also it has been great for me - esp as I was more ready to accept it
@@arbitraryifyYeah I’m definitely an introvert but I have hang out around other classmates that are loud and outgoing. It’s kinda nerve wracking but also feels good in a way.
I love Dandadan, S-tier anime and easily one of the best new shows this year... *but* I also thought that end of cour/seasonal cliffhangers like this was a thing off the past, and it low-key make me wish that this season had ended last episode instead (or even better, run for one more episode.) This sort of cliffhanger works wonders between episodes, but having it in the end of a cour/season is just cruel, and not in a "thats so mean, teehee"-way but in a "thats just terrble, f*** you"-way. Having this season end like this isn't making me hyped for the next cour/season nearly as much as it's just making me pissed off... (And yes, I'm well aware that the next cour is coming in 6 months - thank f**** christ!)
Okarun and Jiji was singing Slamdunk op & ED. (The lyrics of said songs are about confession of love). And to add with the reference, Jiji and Okarun circles around with the basketball guard pose with the addition of the iconic basketball shoes on gym floor squeaks to hone in the basketball reference. The reference was surprising since Dandandan usually does tokusatsu base references. I think most people in the west all miss these reference as for Asian countries the Slamdunk op & ED are as about recognizable as dragonball's chala head chala or One Piece's first op.
Isn't it natural Jiji become interested on Momo? He hasn't seen her in years and she became obviously interesting. One might argue as superficial comparing it to Okarun quite inocent devotion. But Jiji isn't wrong and he got moves. Dust on hair my ass. Okarum must keep leveling up himself and his game.
2:11 in episode one, Momo tells Okarun that her parents died when she was young. As for Okarun's parents, we still haven't met them 180 chapters into the manga. So, dunno?
I had a theory that Queen Sensei might be momos real mom, but now i'm not so sure. I didn't know Queen Sensei's hair color because we don't see it in the manga. Queens mannerisms do we remind me of seiko and momo. Also did anyone else notice how momo was acting just like seiko in this episode. She is totally seiko's granddaughter.
It ended an episode too early. I hate the ending because it's not even like a normal cliffhanger for the series. It feels like it just cuts off. That's my only complaint.
loved this episode and season as a whole, only complaint you can kinda tell with that ending this was more meant to be the end of a cour and not a whole season, felt like kinda an awkward spot to leave off on
Not a fan ending the season in a middle of an arc. Imagine if this anime flopped and they cancelled Season 2, it ends with Momo getting pinned down by creepy pervs in a hot spring.
@@cmdrjanjalani to be honest it wasn’t a flop to begin with given it has an audience so most shows leave off on a cliffhanger to keep an audience invested
@@watchforever1724 keyword is "Imagine". My point was a "What if" if the show didn't do well. It's a hit and reality-wise, it was going to get it no matter what happens at least as a 2nd cour but I just commented how dark it would have if this was the only season given how it ends. Heck, it felt like we will just have another episode next week with the way it was presented.
