Yeah it was a weird ending. I tough it would end when they were boarding the train. Maybe to fill space they could have included some of the extra chapters.
I’m shocked that people doesn’t really talk about how Jiji even manage to live with that spirit haunting him since day 1 Man was being optimistic even when he couldn’t sleep for days
3:35 The songs sung by Okarun and Jiji are the famous anime "Slam Dunk" OP and ED スラムダンク - あなただけ見つめてる スラムダンク - 君が好きだと叫びたい They are really deep memories for us 30-40 year old anime fans
Okarun is singing the first OP, Jiji is singing the first ED. Both are iconic. Also notice the shoe squeaks while they do it, and the whistle when they stop.
Without spoling me too much, are my predictions for what happens/is about to happen warm or cold? (Edit: And obvious *spoilerwarning* in case rujon288 replies to this.) - The guys attacking Momo aren't spirits, they're aliens - and they're after her "banana"? - The aliens are the ones responsible for all the talismanic charms that drive away spirits in the house (they've planted a seed that spirits fight aliens)? - The spirit haunting Jiji is infact haunting/following him, and is not haunting the house? - Momo will be saved, either by her own violiton, or by Okarun/Jiji or by the thing haunting Jiji once Okarun and Jiji tear down all the wards or whatever? Cheers.
Dandadan goes crazy up to the last one, even with crazy cliffhanger. The cliffhanger intrigues the viewers to know more of the next arc so once S2 comes, they'll watch asap, while also teasing people to read manga (for those who haven't read it yet), thus promoting the manga in a way. Can't waiittt for S2 next year...
The reason why I feel it ended like that without much fanfare is because season 1 was supposed to be more than 12 episodes but some shenanigans in the background forced it to be cut into two seasons. Maybe to test if season 1 would be successful first or something.
Momo saying she was getting lightheaded was from the hot spring. Soaking in really hot water for a long time makes you woozy. Probably how those old men could get the jump on her.
Of all the places they could have stopped before the next episode, that was not what I was expecting. I don't know why, looking at it It's so obvious, I know what comes next, it is the best place to stop, but still! We do have an official confirmation from the author on Twitter that it will be back in July, so at least there's that.
I think this is... the exact spot the chapter that coincides with this ending ends on! So they're going perfectly in pace. Terrible place for the season 1 finale but XD I believe I read season 2 comes back this next summer, so we just have to hold on tight for a bit.
When last week everyone told me this will be the last episode of the season, I was confused. I read the manga, so it was clear they can't close the current story in one ep. So I'm still waiting for a surprise episode for Christmas, maybe with double lenght, so there will be a chance to end the season properly...
I really thought that they were going to add a bit of filler and end on the train but damn that's brutal. In the manga we only waited for a week on that cliffhanger
Had they finished with just one more episode it would have had a muuuuch better cliffhanger, at least for me 4:14 It's just that he is using formal speech (Ayase-san and Jiji-san) it's not uncommon when you are not closed or to adress elders or seniors in your field, but also there are those who fully speak formally regardless on who they are talking to because that's how they are used to talking (btw, it's not just adressing someone but your whole speech is different) 14:34 A reaaally really small detail here is that in the manga every time Ken apologised Jiji was even more reassuring and saying things like "it's ok it's ok" "well done" "you apologise a lot, huh?" it's really small and not emphasised at all so I get why they didn't feel the need to include it but I feel it adds to how good of a friend he is. At least I took that detail like that, maybe it wasn't intended to be taken that siriously, but as someone who apologises a lot it felt great to have someone say something nice every time, even if they didn't mean much by it
Nah honestly I think this is a very in character way for Dandadan to end the first season. If there are questions people are gonna want answers. That ties in with the conclusion of this first season. There was no conclusion and the answers will be found in the next. But I do agree it left a feeling of desire
@@AppoYT It doesn't raise that many questions tbh. Aliens or spirits (they're clearly not humans) are about to grape Momo and Okarun/Jiji found something weird with his house. It doesn't raise any more questions than most other episode-endings, but it does end in the middle of something horrible that most watchers would want closure on before going on a 6 month hiatus... It's a terrible point to end a cour on.
@@MinscS2 with that being said a lot of questions were already presented prior to the ending that were already unanswered. Like what is the spirit haunting Jiji and why is it haunting him. The people in the village might not be aliens or ghosts, they might just be human and what do they want from our main group. Why have jijis parents been cursed and he hasn’t. Where are most of the other regular people in this village. Episode 12 only adds to more unanswered questions. May not be the best point to end a cour on but it will definitely have people wanting to keep watching
Creamy Mami is a magical girl anime from the 90’s that’s based off a real person or something. I actually don’t know THAT much about it, besides the fact that one of the seasons ends with her being hit by a car. It was localized for South America, but the series ended with said finale whereas in Japan it continued with another season. It essentially traumatized children there by ending the series with an on screen death of the main character lol
Okarun started singing the 1stending of slam dunk, which is a sports anime, jiji being athletic likely wanted to match his energy and sang the 1st opening of the same anime lol
I love Dandadan, S-tier anime and easily one of the best new shows this year... *but* I also thought that end of cour/seasonal cliffhangers like this was a thing off the past, and it low-key make me wish that this season had ended last episode instead (or even better, run for one more episode.) This sort of cliffhanger works wonders between episodes, but having it in the end of a cour/season is just cruel, and not in a "thats so mean, teehee"-way but in a "thats just terrble, f*** you"-way. Having this season end like this isn't making me hyped for the next cour/season nearly as much as it's just making me pissed off... (And yes, I'm well aware that the next cour is coming in 6 months - thank f**** christ!)
They end right as everyone is in danger because that's where the arc pops off. This is a rather look arc compared to everything previously. Probably gonna take 5 or so more episodes from this point when it comes back in July
and it might be a surprise but this episode only covers 1 chapter of the arc, and this arc is also long! Longer than the last arcs!. But probably Season 2 will cover 2 arcs related to JIJI, since it covers 32-62 chapters

Actual dirty cliffhanger for anime only fans🤣Read the whole thing and i was still pissed of that ending. Just saying that season 1 has without a doubt some of the weakest arcs compared to what is in store for season 2+, its going to be amazing!
That cliffhanger actually left us confused if there's an episode next week😭
unfortunately not, but season 2 has been announced for July!
Season 2 is prolly more like Season 1 Part 2 hah
Yeah it was a weird ending. I tough it would end when they were boarding the train. Maybe to fill space they could have included some of the extra chapters.
Can’t believe we have to wait for next season which is over half a year
Ending the 1st cour on that cliffhanger was just pure evil
This cliffhanger was the most blatant way of saying "go read the manga NOW"
Part 2 is returning in 7 months but yeah I doubt people are gonna wait for 7 months after this cliffhanger.
