Well done, great end product! Was wanting to do something just like this myself. It's really helpful to watch someone else do it, so I can know what challenges to expect. Thanks for uploading this.
Actually i melted the holes, and they didnt work. Spend the money on a nice set of goggles with a built fan, either the ESS Turbofan or the Smith Optics Outside the Wire (OTW) fan version. I found a set of the ESS Turbofans for $70, and it was one of the top 3 airsoft purchases I've ever made
I put it on the outside because my helmet has straps and pads at the back of my head, which makes wearing goggles underneath my helmet uncomfortable and difficult to put on. The goggles on the outside also help to keep the helmet in place.
with my hands. its a lot of guess and check and fitting against your face. if its too hard to bend, try taking the handle of a screwdriver on one side and press/roll it against a hard surface (table/workbench). the edge is a lot harder to work, I used a pair of pliers since I wasnt worried about scratching the paint off the mesh (it was going to be covered by the fabric).
My friend shot an enemy riiiight on the gap on the nose between the goggles and the mask. Work on it a little bit cause the guy had to stop playing that day 😂
ESS Profile NVG goggles. These are military surplus and you can find them on ebay for pretty cheap ($10-20), just make sure the elastic isn't all stretched out. Surplus lenses are almost always scratched up (and I've had one with stress cracks), but cheap enough to replace. The goggles themselves come in black, green, light tan (in this video), and brown (in my profile pic, great color if you can find them).
whatever is comfortable. for me the mesh is pretty close to my skin, which means I can look down my sights better. as long as the sharp edge of the mesh isn't exposed and scratching you, there isn't anything wrong protection-wise with having the mesh against your skin. and you can always bend it out a little if it isn't comfortable.
@hofinator7 I noticed u play at zulu. I was just wondering with your smp. With a .25 what fps are u running at. And what weight bbs do u use on the field.
+Cesar Santana I always run my SMP at or below CQB limits (less than 1.13 joules which is 350 FPS w/ a .20g). My regulator is set at about 55 psi, I've got a pretty short barrel (200mm), and I use .30g's, so its usually around 280-290 FPS, which is a little over 1 joule. With a .25g it would be about 310-315.
+Hofinator7 since the fps limit at zulu is 400 with a .25. And that is equal to around 1.86 joules. If I run .36 g bbs, and they chrono in around 1.80-1.85 joules. Would these joules be considered a "hot" shooting gun at zulu. Thanks for all the help
+Cesar Santana Should be fine. They will chrono the gun with .25s (if your gun uses an m4 mag). And if its shooting over, you can still use it but it will be considered a sniper rifle/DMR and you get a 100' minimum engagement distance.
Bro haha beggers cant be choosers my boy, it came out perfect, im scared to try to make mine, i dont wanna f up and have to pay 100 for a new one lol, but i got my goggles onto my helmet for no money at all, the mesh mask is gonna be an issue though

Was that some Pink Floyd there for a sec
thanks for the tutorial... I think I'm gonna rig my mask like that instead of using my flimsy helmet clips
That first one looks like an ultra breathable baseball cup lol
Your vids are awesome
Lol free bird. Nice one of my favorites
Dude I have a question, the googles is better put outside of the helmet, or inside?? how I can get better support?? its for paintball no airsoft.
I put it on the outside because my helmet has straps and pads at the back of my head, which makes wearing goggles underneath my helmet uncomfortable and difficult to put on. The goggles on the outside also help to keep the helmet in place.
Free bird nice
the newer masks have threading
I wish I could play airsoft :( I live in Australia doe
Aric Roy im sorry to hear that
me 2 :(
U can’t play in Australia?
They ban guns in Austrailia
It sucks I can't do this with my mask because the fabric is stitched on
Cam Gregory just carefully cut the sticking an hotglue it back on. Or use a different fabric
Unstick it use glue to put back on easy D1
hey i bought one of these masks, i have a very small face and the mask looks very big, how did you bend it to fit you face?
with my hands. its a lot of guess and check and fitting against your face. if its too hard to bend, try taking the handle of a screwdriver on one side and press/roll it against a hard surface (table/workbench). the edge is a lot harder to work, I used a pair of pliers since I wasnt worried about scratching the paint off the mesh (it was going to be covered by the fabric).
ok thanks

+Hofinator7 Awesome! Thank you so much!
how much did that heat gun cost?
You can find them on amazon or in your local hardware store for $20-30.
The mesh touches my face, is that supposed to happen?
whatever is comfortable. for me the mesh is pretty close to my skin, which means I can look down my sights better. as long as the sharp edge of the mesh isn't exposed and scratching you, there isn't anything wrong protection-wise with having the mesh against your skin. and you can always bend it out a little if it isn't comfortable.
+Hofinator7 Thanks a lot! I didn't know I could bend it that much!
