Ka-29TB is transport/assault helicopter for Navy usage. So it is used by the Russian Navy only and "МА ВМФ (Naval Aviation of Russia)" writing says it clearly. There were less than 50 built before the Soviet Union fell, all were left to Russian Navy, not a single piece was used by Ukrainian nave whatsoever. All the Ka-29TB nowadays are land-based helos except 6 of them serving on 2 newly built Project 11711 large landing ships: Ivan Gren and Piotr Morgunov (both in Northern Fleet).
Never been a big fan of the helicopter as a model, but watching the sky crane come together so well has been a revelation. If I ever got one it would have to be a bright orange sky crane with the fire fighting attachments, and call it Elvis.
Man, Nigel, I had a smile when you mentioned Jess shredding this protective piece of foam. ☺ Nice look at an interesting subject, thank for your work and sharing it!
Hi Nigel, Nice review. This is really a crazy looking helicopter. I'll be looking forward to seeing it built. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day. Jeff
I’ve got my fingers crossed Trumpeter will make a 1/35 Ka-25 Hormone B, my favourite of this family of choppers, with this much attention to detail. Built the Airfix 1/72 Hormone yonks ago and loved it.
The same mechanism is used on HB 1/48 Ka-27 and it is ok. The weakest link is the small gear which is easily broken by the loads. I had to replace it and put in quite a bit of sylicone grease to make it work.
Hello! I know that this question is slightly off topic. I would like to know your opinion on the quality of model kits from the company modelcollect. I'm quite new to this hobby, but I really like all the big maz trucks that they have for sale.
They all appear to be naval schemes. I believe it is described as a naval assault transport helicopter. The Ka-27 from which this was developed is used by the Ukrainian navy. The FAB on the ordnance can roughly be translated as high-explosive aerial bomb.

Thanks for the review Nigel. I have been thinking of getting one of these too.
No problem 👍

Hi Nigel, will you build this one? Would love to see this built "in the wild"!
Hi Nigel, Nice review. This is really a crazy looking helicopter. I'll be looking forward to seeing it built. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day. Jeff
Just the very fact that this subject was produced is exciting & interesting let alone doing it in 1/35 scale.
Looks like a nice kit
It is, but a bit pricey...
@@NigelsModellingBench true that, I like the kit…….but not enough to justify buying it .
@@NigelsModellingBench I saw it today at a hobby town USA and they wanted 205 us $ for it was wondering if it's worth it
great reveiw Nigel look forward to seeing it built
You and me both!
Nice

Have you got your Kotare yet? Mine arrived a couple of weeks ago in New Zealand. Looking forward to your review.
Not yet, it's on it's way apparently?
As always a great review Nigel thanks for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it
want to try to build one too. Im just intimated by detailing and weathering.
Not sure if there's a decal set out there for it but Ukraine does/did have the Ka-29 in their inventory.
Looking forward to see the build.
A great looking kit and the Quinta interior will set it off nicely. I think your right about those rotors, they do look flimsy.
We shall see

Great review! Wish they made it in 1/48 scale, cheers Trey
I think Hobby Bossy do??
@@NigelsModellingBench sadly no, it’s 1/72
Yes, Hobby Boss do it in 48 scale with ucrainian decals also.
Just saw a build of one on another channel

They are great little kits.
Do you have your Kotare spitfire yet?
Its on its way??
Thank you for this nice review
Thanks for watching!
Always thought this is an odd looking whirlybird... looks like a great kit.
That thing looks a beast Nigel. Looks like a great kit. Not got any Trumpeter kits myself. But it is pig ugly lol.
Sure is weird looking eh!!
@@NigelsModellingBench Most Russian choppers are lol.
An awesome looking trumpeter kit but i agree not the most flattering loking heli but interesting enough that makes yoy want to get one
You getting hooked on Helo's now?
I think it looks great, but the price is enormous. Maybe 1/48.

Yes, it's ugly but I like it. I haven't built a helo in many, many years but this one really piques my interest.
Just a comment for the algorithm
Hobbyboss decals are awful
