I would try those 2 colors together. Although not an exact match, they do compliment each other. It might match closer to where the stripe meets the next color. It just might surprise you! 👍👍👍👍👍

I really like Caron cotton cakes as well, I think it's my favorite cotton-blend ever... and I use a considerable amount of high-end yarn so Caron cotton cakes for me is bonus.

I love working with cotton. My favorite cottons in order from first to last is caron cotton cakes, coboo, i love this cotton, comfy cotton, all for garments. The above cottons are all cotton blends. If i were making kitchen items any 100% cotton is good.
Really appreciate this comparison video. Sometimes it is so difficult to figure out the differences when you haven’t used the yarns before. Also appreciate the explanation as to whether a yarn is a light number 4 or thick number three. It is difficult to tell unless you have the yarns to compare. As I have not used either of these, this is very useful information. Thank you.

I learned the basics from sc bc from my Nana when I was alittle girl, but never took crocheting seriously until recently . I have come to truly enjoy it and I feel renewed sense of my worth. I was really depressed that I couldn't work and provide for myself anymore. Crocheting helps alot. I feel good again. Your videos are easy for me to follow and the garments come out very nice. I have used this yarn in a solid color to make a shawl. It worked up well. I believe it it's somewhat of a tubular shape and and a bit stretchy. It wears well.

I like both. I made a summer cardi out of the comfy cotton (whip cream) and am working on a tunic with Caron cotton cakes ( silver cloud). Comfy is a bit softer.
Hi Crystal! Good morning. I saw the Caron cotton cakes when you were doing a shopping video a while back. I was so excited I had my hubby run to Michaels and get one for me. I really like the Caron cotton cakes better than the comfy cotton. Both are soft but I don't like a lot of the colorways in the comfy cotton. They're both great Yarns and they both definitely will be used by me for different projects. Thank you so much for introducing this to us. :-)

I purchased comfy cotton, Mai Tai color, and it looks like there is a white strand wrapped around the varigated and I do have trouble occasionally with splitting because it's not wrapped tight, but I do like it anyway. It is nice and soft. I will have to get a Caron cake and see if I like it now that I have seen your comparison. Thanks!!!
Have used the Caron Cotton cakes and agree a fair price would be $6-$7. Made the Calico flower scarf using the calico flower color yarn. It did turn out nicely. Followed the pattern and stopped at the 60 inch recommended length before the edging. After doing the edging had quite a bit of left over yarn. I would recommend anyone doing the pattern could easily go another 5 or more inches in length and still have enough for the border. Found the same thing, that the solids don't match the closest color in the strips but the solid worked well for the border on the blanket I did with the strips used for the body. Wish the colors were a little brighter. Thanks for the review and comparison,

I have used both. I made a swim suit cover up and a summer sweater with the Cotton Cakes and a summer tank top with the Comfy Cotton. I went down a hook size with the Sumner sweater and the garment felt heavier in weight when finished. The summer tank still felt light weight with a smaller hook size.
I think the solid coordinates nicely with the stripe, especially when you consider that stripes often ease in and out of a color when changing. I'd use them together.

I have made bags and tops with these yarns. The patterns I’ve made with them are pretty airy and the bags I’ve made using your pattern the one you just made a couple of days ago and I really love how it came out ❤️❤️
I love them I have been making the mens cardigan sweater with it I am on my 3rd one with this yarn I use the same size crochet hook you use for the sweater it comes out beautiful for a cover up or for those cool evenings I love this yarn but I never pay full price

This is an older one I haven’t seen, but I absolutely love the Caron cotton cakes and the Lion brand comfy cottons. My next would be Caron’s simplynsoft, but they’re SO soft, it gets a little fuzzy after extended use.
I want both!!!!! I think the Caron Cotton Cake would make good shorts or pants bc of the acrylic blend making it more durable. Possibly, not 100% on that, but from what I've read about bottom outerwear making them in cotton can snag and stuff.

I made a floor length maxi skirt with this to try. I found it very easy to work with, it blocked great and I found it airy and not too heavy

Comfy Cotton is my verwhichy favorite yarn ever! I love the cream color, which I'm using to make a full size bedspread! The drape is beautiful!

I love the Caron. It's a nice tightly plied yarn, so it's quite dense, and doesn't split. It has FABULOUS stitch definition!
