This is the story of how I overcame a mental obstacle from my early days of Axis Invasions. Just for a change, I have used an Aussie AI voice to tell the tale.
For anyone who may be interested, my image of the gaming wombat was created with Leonardo AI and animation was added later using the AI from Luma Dream Machine. Text to Speech was via the Textmagic website.

Good for you Wombat!! Always satisfying to get that challenge in the rear view mirror… I have been invading in Central America for quite sometime. Sometimes I can hear what is happening in their living room. Not sure why, but have gotten pretty good at getting out before the invasion starts. Could it be my settings? Anyway, congrats on that kill.

Today I connected to Australia/Asia to find your mortal enemy. What a surprise you were the first hit.
But I found him too directly after you. Was camping at the phone at the Wombat Maneuver place and made phone calls every 45 seconds. The whole map was cleared and trapped. I stepped on one trap and disarmed several ones. At the end I died because I was to stupid...
Awww.. I'm so sorry you didn't score a win. That would have been the icing on my mental demon cake! BTW, you are not stupid. This camper is soulless because he has no love of the game. FWIW, when I play, I don't set any traps, just to give the invader a chance. There's nothing less satisfying than invading someone's game and getting blown up after taking a few steps.

@@WombatCombat-YT in my opinion, the melle kill is much more effective but more difficult to perform because you have to get close to the opponent.I know.. i am master of that😂

I can definitely see why alot of people leave these games! I got caught out loads when i first played the game too! Personally i love flipping their mines and turning the map into my playground, i usually dont rematch after🤣
Yeah, I have done that on the odd occasion too, but only when I have plenty of time to spare.
I think nearly everything is ok. It’s just a game. Some take it too serious. I’ve read things like he is mad when someone doesn’t accept a rematch or stuff like this. Maybe he only wants to finish the campaign. If I enter a pre trapped level sometimes I leave, sometimes I stay. Some campers are only noobs with not enough experience. The first time I played the game I did’t know the function axis invasion and my whole body was shaking when the invader entered. I didn’t know focus or the invasion phone at this moment.
What I want to say is that try to stay calm, have fun and enjoy the game. I need to laugh the most because of the stupid things I am doing.

I agree too, but this person affected me in my early days, and I was triggered again when I saw him this time. I don't mind being killed, and as a rule, I don't play cleared maps anymore, but this one was personal. 😆

To be honest I also made a 50% finished map, where I started some tests with sneaking. I tried to get in the blue areas without being seen. And it this situation I thought it's a good idea to place some traps. 😈
The highlight was a mine in the corridor between the radar and the individual guard. And it was salted with a pinch of TNT. 😇
If an invader is camping or waiting for you at the radar and you produce an alarm at the gun battery they are running like headless chickens.
But I really had some nice duels in that map because it was not completely trapped and still enough NPCs alive. It was a trainings map for me to learn the "getting invaded"-physics.
Did I feel bad when someone hit a mine? Honestly no. And funny fact is that the most kills were done by myself.
If anybody stepped in one of the traps and is reading this: Sorry!😁Shame on me. But I try to become a better man....

I don't mind the challenge if they are playing on authentic with a cleared map. It is the Prestige players padding their numbers on easy with a cleared map I dislike, but I will take the challenge on the odd occasion.
That would definitely be fairer, but this guy doesn't play on authentic.

Lol.. as of right now, I'm at 1150. I've been told to hurry up to 2000. I'm sure then I'll be told to hurry to 3000 and so on. 🤣

So are you changing server location now? I’m UK and play Western Europe. I have a blacklist of folks I won’t play but I rarely get matched with them - I think there are just so many more players and you rarely have to wait more than 2 minutes. Lag doesn’t seem to a big deal but it’s a long way to Oz!
On another note are you just invading or playing Allied too.
Yes, once I learned how to change servers, I went all over the world.😁 The only issue I have is I need to chase the day. Australia's time zone is a long way from Europe and the USA. Middle East and Africa seem to suit when it is evening here. I do play the odd Allied, but it's mostly Invasion.
i do set up traps and mines wherever i pass also, just in case, but i've never setted up the field for invaders hunting. maybe i should this some time.
I'm OK with setting traps to protect myself from AI coming from behind or to thin out the numbers, but when someone completely clears the map and then places mines everywhere, that to me is almost like cheating. When Chris and I play co-op, I never set traps (and also ask him not to), as it is 2 to 1 and we have a major advantage.
