Why am I crying? Been married for 9 years, three children, this is such a beautiful reminder that it's the small things in life that count. Just having someone to share all of those meals and daily moments with you is more meaningful than anything else.

@@recursion.thats only “cool” for people who are shallow and have no real depth or maturity yet. People who have really experienced life are seeking real depth with real emotions, not quick gratification that leaves one with nothing of substance after it’s over. I know this is alien to you right now, because you are inexperienced in these things, but some day, you may actually connect with another person and begin to make real memories, and you are gonna be blown away with how deeply satisfying it is, compared to the shallow and selfish rush that may have been your only source of pleasure to this point. But trust us who have gone there, the pleasure is deeper and richer than anything you can imagine compared to your experience of partying.

@@recursion. If you think so, buddy. I'm not going to tell you how to live your life. Only one advice. Spend some time with people who are 50+ with no family to check if you want to be like them in the future. For me it was no, no. I'm married for 7 years now, have 3 kids and never felt more fulfilled in my life.

This is what marriage is about- living out the ins and outs of daily life, the big, the small, the mundane, the extraordinary. Your spouse will be (should be) there for you to care for you, love you, support you, help you out with slicing onions because it makes you cry... It's not the grand gestures that dictate how good your marriage will be, it's the basic, day-to-day things that speak "I love you!" that makes married life so worth it.
With unrealistic expectations in our digital age, it's hard not to compare what social media posts there are about this or that cool wedding or proposal, but in reality, this is not what real life looks like...
It is THIS VIDEO that truly encapsulates it.
Well done, brought happy tears to my eyes. God's blessings to you both ❤️

What I love most about this film is that it captures what is being lost in the art of marriage. As someone who has been married for over 23years, what you learn is marriage is lived in the dull and mundane moments of life, and if you can master love in those moments, you are on to one of the secrets of marriage.

Maybe because that’s what social media likes to tell us is normal, when it’s not! Fights are normal, hard times are normal, giving up shouldn’t be. The world likes to tell us if we don’t feel 100% fulfilled and full of dopamine at all times we have a right to leave, when in reality marriage is so much more than just feelings. It’s a great commitment to sticking through the crap.

They may all move back home for five years to pay off school loans and cars, then move back during Covid 17 months, then help seventeen days after surgery this year, then stay overnite regularly to take their dad to ballgames, or visit their sister and her kids. Ummm we only had fourteen and a half months and I thought the same thing after three kids. It’s fine, companionship, but at 42 years, nothing like that young love… so don’t wish this fun time away raising kids.

This is beautiful. Happy for you guys. Too many people fall into the trap of thinking comfort like this means there is something wrong. Too many people think if it's not forever the honeymoon phase, it's not true love, and will run off to try to find greener grasses over and over. What you have there is true love. Cherish it.

@Matt Byrne I wanted you to know that I just love your film; in fact I have now watched it quite a few times. Your portrayal of “Married Life” is full of the kindness, acceptance and having fun together that all marriages should have. I also appreciated the fact that you both share all the “chores” that make up a modern marriage. So, while this is technically a “short”, it is long in wisdom (that many have, unfortunately, forgotten - or never learned in the first place!)
Thanks for making it - you brought a sense of comfort to this 71 year-old’s heart.
Btw, I have also watched - and equally enjoyed - your films on the Bread Machine and the RV adventure. All the best and keep making movies!

In recent years, the institution of marriage seems to be losing its popularity among many people. However, despite this trend, it is heartwarming to witness young couples still expressing great enthusiasm and happiness in tying the knot. It is a beautiful thing to see them embracing the joy in spending their lives together.

Nothing from the other world, this feature is simply showing two people living together (into a very special, but common bonding known as marriage) to get through...
    The only difference?
They are cooperating... now, in the beginning.
Let's hope they continue unchanged the whole trip... until the end.
Greetings to all of those that are into a nice couple, even with new family members since you had grown, and you do everything to keep it up the best way always, because you love and respect each other so much!

    Loved this.
My Wife and I got married in September 2023, after 5 years of living in separate countries (Covid and that), and whilst we're still adjusting to some of the changes, I would never swap the time I spend with her in our home, for anything I've ever experienced before.
The cuddles at night, the interests she pays in my sports, my video games, my tv shows. The meals we share or the walks we go on.
It's like I've found a better version of myself, whom loves me, wants to help improve me whilst also supporting who I currently am, and who will continue to provide for me for the rest of time and beyond.
I love you darling. Now. Tomorrow. Always.
Thanks so much for putting up with my stanky bed farts.

I grew up with parents that fought all of the time. The house was never safe or quiet. As I've gotten older and moved away from my toxic family dynamic I've begun to wonder what a healthy marriage looks like. To me marriage is always something loud, tumultuous, and violent. But I know that's not how it should be. I'm looking down a much better road now, one with a person who creates peace, love, and stability in my life. I want to be with him forever, but the fear of what I know marriage to be still lingers. Thank you for making this video. It's helped me to realize that being married can be a wonderful and peaceful thing. That it is good and not something to fear.
