Egor seems to have more upside than Ozzy but it sounds like he was possibly going to head back to Russia instead of staying in the Predators' system since he wasn't happy with the opportunities he was getting. I don't expect Ozzy to pan out, but I wouldn't be surprised if Egor bounced for Russia not too far into the future.
Thing is that Afanasyev doesnt want to be on the AHL, there was a possibility of him going back to russia if the preds dont promised the playing time in the NHL since its his last year of his entry contract. If Grier went for him, most likely he will be part of the Sharks' bottom 6 with a new contract.

Makes sense, easier to make the roster in the worst team in the league rather than a playoff team

I loved Ozzie but it seemed like he could never really stay healthy more than him being a bust. Wish him nothing but the best.
