If we offer 14, 33 & Bordeleau, that could be enough to get into that 6-8 range which will surely get us a chance at Buium, Dickinson, Parekh or Tij Ignila. Any of those 4 would be key building blocks for our rebuild
Yzerman must be pretty confident in Edvinsson’s development to let go of Walman. Funny that one of the prospective has a name so similar to Stevie Y’s.
Wings fan here... Yes, Edvinsson is more than ready, but he was supposed to be another piece of an improving D that included Walman. I do trust Yzerman knows what he's doing though, so I guess I'll just be patient and watch what happens over the next week.
@@zulluz9697 I know. It makes me feel real good about the trade. Looks like Greer is using his Cap Space as a great negotiating tool. Sharks will probably have a Top 5 Pick next summer and can train these young men to become champions.
Imagine if the Sharks on Friday selected the best all around player first overall AND then selected the best goal scorer in the draft…at 14th! :CACKLING:
Walman was a great pickup for the left side of the defensive corps but it does create a bit of a logjam on that side. Here is what I think are the top 5 on the Sharks left side: Walman, Ferraro, Thrun, Shakir and Pickles. Problem with this list is that there are two young players that will need time and two players that have to have playing time. Then there is Pickles that is riding out the last two years of his contract. Feels like one of two things will happen; 1) Ferraro gets traded or 2) Shakir or Thrun do not see as many minutes as I think they need for their development. This is not to say that they cannot play four left defensemen during the season but so far the Sharks have tried to avoid playing defensemen on their offside. This is going to be very interesting to watch in the coming weeks. I also think there should be another defenseman added on the right side. The reason is what we have now. On the right we have: Benning, Rutta, Emberson, Burroughs. None of those are middle pair defensemen. Maybe Emberson can become a second pair defenseman but that is a maybe and on the future. So, to create a balanced defensive corps they (IMO) need one more second pair right handed defenseman. How GMMG gets them who knows? He has been very creative so far. The Sharks are better today than they were yesterday and one more defenseman solidifies their worst weakness.
Does the trade make more sense if it was a 3 way with Det and Nash? It feels like the 4 trades between these teams make more sense in totality. SJ: Walman, 53rd, Egor Nash: Ozzy and Gibson Det: Kiskinen and cap space
Makes zero sense from a Red Wings perspective. Yzerman making odd moves. Nice trade for the Sharks got a top paired defenseman and a 2nd round pick for nothing.
14 : Yakemchuk / MBN / Connelly 33 : Badinka /Basha 42 : Frej / Eriksson 53 : Kivirhu Too much D but i don't see value at the point and please don't go on eiserman it's a bait 😂
The Eiserman thing you and others seem to have is soooo frustrating. With the 14th pick you want to waste it on a maybe? A one dimensional player with character issues as far as I understand. He will not be the BPA at all. Because he knows Celebrini when they were kids is a reason? Please. Because he can shoot good? That is something to maybe try in the second round but the 14th pick? We need defense in our prospect pool, not one dimensional forwards that have a greater chance of flaming out than making the NHL. Eiserman would be the second worst pick they could make, with the worst being Trevor Connelly. I also have read about him having character issues, as he is a guy that plays by the beat of his own drum. He stated he was going to concentrate on shooting and I think it was to get the scoring record. What about the rest of his game? Too much risk and to many maybes. I would rather take a swing on a defenseman which is something we need. Please, please no Eiserman. God please. At least Solberg has traits (physical, defense, plays with adults, going to the SHL) that gives him a much better chance to make the NHL. The Eiserman mold is something we have and can get from a guy like Emil Hemming late in the first or early in the second.
My guy, with all due respect, please take some speaking / radio voice coaching. Your mumbling can be addressed, you just need to make a conscious effort to fix it. Otherwise, it’s painful to listen to you for longer than a few min. Constructively yours, a sharks fan
I've been listening to JD for years. English isn't my first language, and I find his speech very clear. Everyone has their own way of speaking, with phrases or words they use frequently, which one can easily become accustomed to. Go sharks!
Walman trade sounds like a winner for the Sharks.
Good show! Sharks still need a lot of help. I am waiting for 2025 and 2026 drafts to round out this roster.
Great work as always. As a NoCal transplant stuck in SoCal, you are my go to source for all things Sharks related.
Hoping Grier can make a trade and get Zeev or Tij. 🦈

The Detroit Locked On Podcast can't understand why Yzerman traded Walman away and getting nothing in return except for saving cap space.
It’s literally 30 minutes of them Malding and crying

Think a Ferraro trade is in the works?
I was wondering the same thing.
Definitely a possibility. If they could flip next years Vegas pick and Ferraro for a top 10 this year would be awesome
I doubt the sharks trade Ferraro.
Maybe?
@@DanRaidersWarriorsSharksGiantsproblem is that we have a glut of D on that side with Walman.

Interesting no Henry Mews or Cole Hutson
They were in the mid 20s, just out of the sharks range
Still going. . .
