- You've seen the shopping and the wrapping. And now (finally!!) I have the birthday video ready to publish. It's fun having back to back birthdays. I really can't say why. Maybe it's that the birthday joy and energy goes on for a couple extra days. You know how kids are? The lead up to the birthday is just as exciting as the actual birthday and then there's the post birthday fun of playing with all the new gifts.

My mom would use a peeler like you did to make chocolate curls but it helps a lot if there cold or frozen so the chocolate 🍫 bars don’t break

Ermine frosting, old recipe, also known as boiled milk frosting, I make a chocolate one, it’s delicious, when I do the white one I add a little Tahitian pure vanilla extract. Put the chocolate in the microwave for like 5 seconds, or set it near something warm, makes it easier to shave chocolate curls. Happy Birthday Maria and Joe.

Good evening Jennifer. Just watched the video. You were concerned that the cake was too dry. I understand it was a little dry, but to make sure it doesn't dry out more after it has been cut, I put a small glass of water under the cake cover with the cut cake. It helps keep the cake moister after it is cut. Of course, being the baker you are, you probably already know that little trick already. If not, I hope that helps next time. Have a great week. I was so disappointed when my Dad told me I got a little sister for my birthday , I really wanted a puppy! I understand the back to back birthday situation!

We love the cooked frosting! I learned the hard way to be patient and let it get completely cool before adding the butter and sugar. Can you say butter soup??😂😂😂

We enjoy getting the flatbreads from Aldi for pizza. We cook them on out pizza stone in the oven but the black stone would work well.
I keep them in the freezer and just make up my pizzas and put them right into the oven sometimes still frozen and the cook just fine.
My homemade cake recipes that we like has you folding in the egg whites last to create lightness and moisture
Just a suggestion for the dry cake mix. Try adding a tablespoon or so of dry pudding mix to each of the four portions. That should help add some moisture.

Try a box of vanilla instant pudding for moisture. Pudding is amazing in a cake mixture.
