    I have that loose baby hair texture and the amount of frizz and married roots is hell. I thought locking my hair would make life easier but with every retwist I get more and more frustrated. I'm pushing through it thought because I've wanted locs forever, and I'm here for the long run but still experimenting with what works and doesn't

    Finally I've been waiting to see this video. My hair texture is the same as yours and so I'm just going to embrace the frizz. (I have no choice) I have hair that grows out of my locs as well. I'm going to try to satin scarf to help minimize the frizz. Thanks for the video.

    I use the interlocking method and my hair is still friiiizaaaaayy. I don’t even exercise. After every wash my hair becomes a hot mess. 😩😩😩

    My hair(locs) is definitely similar to yours I've learned to cover my hair (locs) up with satin bonnet or use satin pillowcases when sleeping or satin scarf I use to use just anything to wrap my hair up but I love the satin bonnets and scarfs much comfortable

    I personally think frizz also comes from the weather also and sweat

    Very informative video! Also wanted to say that I love your smile 😊. I have coarse and thick 4c hair, I went to a loctitian and she did instant locs for me, which I really love. I wear a silk bonnet religiously 😂, but I still get a lot of frizz (extreme frizz really). I notice that it's typically frizzier when it's dry, what moisturizing products would you recommend, please?

    Question about maintaining the whole loc... My locs are 3 months old. I've experimented with retwisting the roots only and retwisting the whole loc. I love the less frizzy look when I do the whole loc, but I also like the fullness I get when I only focus on the roots. Will maintaining the whole loc make them skinny in the long run?

    • @KrystalLuvNhearts
      @KrystalLuvNhearts 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      JM Ardrey that's the same concern I have which is why I have only been retwisting the roots.

      JM Ardrey I just watched Keisha Charmaine's video on 11 tips for beginner locs (or something like that) and she said to retwist the length as well as the roots to train it into a uniformed loc. It's mentioned in this video too. Keisha's locs are really nice.

    What is proper maintenance/products though? Should I be palm rolling every day?

    • @maia4042
      @maia4042 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      MarlonOwnsYourCake do not palm roll every day! Your hair will thin out. Definitely use a natural water and oil mixture daily to moisturize. Usually I palm roll very lightly when I separate my locs after the shower

    Great info! I have sisterlocks and experience frizz, after just a couple of weeks, post reti. I think that it's a combination of my hair type and the lack of moisture contained within my hair.
    Thanks for sharing! 🤗☺️

    Great info as always! Speaking of natural hair.... with the large amount of natural hair people that we have in the DMV area, do you ever go to any of the annual natural hair events? There is almost always a gathering taking place with lots of positive energy.

    Is it best to dry my hair with a hooded dryer or handheld, or doesn't make a difference?

    • @thedigitalloctician
      @thedigitalloctician  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hooded, always. It’s more diffuse heat vs concentrated and direct like a handheld dryer.

    I think it's my lack of discipline with wrapping my hair. Additionally, I think using a durag may not be the best for wrapping at night.

    • @thedigitalloctician
      @thedigitalloctician  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you have to be consistent with wearing a cover at night.

    • @chiefrocka1363
      @chiefrocka1363 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I used to use a silk durag religiously every night, no fail, but I noticed the parts of my hair around where it is tied would become unraveled and looser than my other starter locs. I bought silk pillow cases and it is much much better. No need to wrap anymore.
