Thank you Daniel, I'm certainly no expert but I do try my best in what I do with my car in hope that other people can see what's involved when tackling these jobs and even learn from my mistakes when I get something wrong
Cheers Scott, I had thought about that too but as usual I just battered on with it. We're upgrading our welding arms for the spot welder so hopefully this will help with future projects as well as the Mk1
Getting perfection is impossible unless you are a robot, but she is looking good, I would be happy with your progress so far. It is hard when space is limited and trying to do stuff with not enough room to swing a cat, but you are doing great. Looking forwards to the next part..
Thanks Danny, space is a major issue but I try to keep the place nice and tidy and that helps a bit. Slowly getting there but I'm not 100% happy with the fitment so some fettling will be required
Nice work Sean, wish I had put my car at that height it looked so much more accessible for putting on the front end. Thanks for the reminder on the strengthening plates, I forgot them doh. 👍
Sean, Angus is really coming on it was a good move to go on to the front and leave the floors and bins for awhile sometimes you can't see the wood for the trees. You have lined up all the front panels better than BL ever could in the factory and i mean that as a complement lol. Cheers Dave
Hi Sean, It’s really coming along nicely now, you must be happy with the progress. I can imagine getting the front panel welded under the wings was a right pain! I am as usual looking forward to the next update. Keep at it, all the best, Norman
Thanks Norman, yes I'm so happy to finally have the front end on. The A panels will need a further fettle to close the gaps up but I have plenty of time to do that!
👍👍👍 Angus is a decent looking chappy now 😅 someone will always moan pal you know that, I didn't fancy doing it how you did it so I clamped the front panel and wings together then took them off the car to weld. Nice and easy for access into those hard to reach places. Gaps looking good, I'm fettling my door gaps too (ballache!)
Cheers Danny, this front end Was a ballache to do. It's on now and like you I need to address the door gaps and fettle the A panels. Will come back to that later. Thanks also for the coffees bud, you'll see early access videos and behind the scenes updates there too 👍
Hi Chris, the biggest rule of thumb is just to try and get everything lined up. These cars were more or less hand built so there are never any 2 the same
Whose panels are you fitting on the front Sean .. great progress .. loads of good knowledge .. will be doin drivers side inner wing .. door osts ans step using heritage panels .. watched yout videos on this and oearnt losds ... regards Ian .. fellow scot from dumfries lol 😆
Thanks Ian, the scuttle is heritage along with the drivers side inner wing and A panels. The front wings and front panel are magnum. A bit of fiddling was required with the wings but with a little patience they fitted
@BMCWorkshop Thanks Sean .. used magnum years ago.. they seemed to fit ok .. by mistake ordered a magnum door post and part step panel .. fits where it hits so sent it back .. got a heritage one with post and step on the way .. heritage stiffner and heritage inner wing . Cost more but they fit much better lol . Had car 35 plus years .. but needs a lot of work now .. not going yo scrap it after all yhis time of ownership lol 😆 Congrats on all your good work and advice Thank you.. 😊
@BMCWorkshop Agreed I got the step panel as well . Not using it and too late to send back .. cost more but less grief and better job in the end lol 😆 if a jobs worth doing...
OK I have to complain. Can you please turn the volume of the BACKGROUND MUSIC DOWN. You're going to damage my ear drums! So I turn the volume down. Then you start to speak and I can't hear you! So I turn the volume up! By now I've mist what you said. And so on. Please can we have a steady volume throughout - thanks Sean. Love the channel.
Thanks Richard, I'm pretty sure most of the (newer) videos are OK volume wise. I know for a fact the newest ones are quieter as the volume on the backing tracks are set to -6.5 from the baseline if that makes sense lol. All the best, Sean
Angus is really coming on. Keep the good work Sean your videos are very informative and helpful.
Thank you Daniel, I'm certainly no expert but I do try my best in what I do with my car in hope that other people can see what's involved when tackling these jobs and even learn from my mistakes when I get something wrong
Looking good mate 👍🏼
Thanks Simon
Nice work mate, Great momentum between you and Kevin on the cars just now
Cheers DB, yeah were doing not too bad at the moment. We are however taking a couple of weeks off between us to catch up with life
Another great episode when I welded the wings to the front panel I put holes in the front panel then welded it when it was upside down on the jig.
Cheers Scott, I had thought about that too but as usual I just battered on with it. We're upgrading our welding arms for the spot welder so hopefully this will help with future projects as well as the Mk1
Great progress. Love watching Angus taking shape and getting the bodywork sorted.
Cheers buddy, it's been a long journey so far
It's a great feeling Sean to put the face on, yeah it's a nightmare welding inside the wings, looks great mate 👍👍
Yes indeed Tony, I really just want this metal work to come to an end but still have miles to go 😒
Angus is starting to look how it should now. Good job Sean
Cheers Mark, slowly coming along 😄
Nice to see him coming back together, always a lifting moment when you get the front end on👍
Cheers Rusty Rover, he's certainly been a labour of love

Awesome Sean.
Looking really good.
There's a light at the end of the tunnel.
Tony.
Cheers Tony, I'm slowly getting there buddy.
you really have to be proud getting this far!!! Epic work. you really give motivation to us mini folk to get out into the garage and get stuck in!
They look great with a face nice work Sean bud
Cheers Alex
Nice work Sean, wish I had put my car at that height it looked so much more accessible for putting on the front end. Thanks for the reminder on the strengthening plates, I forgot them doh. 👍
The height I had it at was maybe a tad too high as I'm just a short arse lol
Lol, mine was probable about the normal ride height and was a pain. Got to agree it’s no fun welding inside the wing
Definitely not great welding in awkward areas Jim
Smart idea to paint bottom side of slam panel.. I will take that idea from you... thanks. it must feel good to be that far along now...
Cheers Randy, the project really moved on at great pace but has slowed down again lol
Sean, Angus is really coming on it was a good move to go on to the front and leave the floors and bins for awhile sometimes you can't see the wood for
the trees. You have lined up all the front panels better than BL ever could in the factory and i mean that as a complement lol. Cheers Dave
Cheers Dave, we still have a good bit of fettling to do to the front panels
Top class work as usual Sean ,Angus is starting to look like a Mini again
Cheers Peter, He's coming along slowly 😀

Nice work ! 👍🏻 I've got same to do , what is the rule of thumb to start datums ? Cheers
Hi Chris, the biggest rule of thumb is just to try and get everything lined up. These cars were more or less hand built so there are never any 2 the same
@@BMCWorkshop thanks sean is it best to start with inner wings first , then front panel etc ?👍🏻
@@chrismarshall7220 yes Chris, do all the inner work first then work your way outwards
@@BMCWorkshop cheers sean 👍🏻

Thank you.. 😊
@iangeddes3438 I used heritage steps and rear quarters as the magnum step panel didn't look good plus the profile is wrong
@BMCWorkshop
Agreed I got the step panel as well . Not using it and too late to send back .. cost more but less grief and better job in the end lol 😆 if a jobs worth doing...
I'm sure you could easily sell it on to someone who wants a bargain!
