Reason why it didn't taste like fish is because it didn't have much fish. Mung beans (munggo) - hate to say this but it's usually cooked with a small bit of pork and shrimp as I know you don't eat pork. Ask if it has 'baboy'-pig/pork next time If their English is limited.
im literally laughing when you ask the girl about her teeth being so white. the reason is people who live in province near a beach their teeth is strong and white because of their salty water. their tap water is a bit salty and thats the water they are using when brushing a teeth. so its normal to them of having a healthy teeth.
