    One man band here do all phases of the small jobs. I've always used nail on. used mud on corners 1st time recently . I'll never go back to nail on that's what I have used since day one . Mud on was not commonly used or available back in the day 80s- 90s mud on is so much easier and slightly adjustable immediately after application . Thank you for further education

    Hey there, really enjoying your videos. I have gotten into the habit of wetting down my Beadex corners prior to installation. Wanted to know what you thought. Thanks.

    Hi Doc. Your project is really taking shape. Do you like Easy Sand or Dura Bond 90 or less for embedding any of your corner beads? Would you recommend using a fan to help speed up drying? Keep Doing Great!

    Personally I really don't care for use in the mud on bead I'm an old-school hanger that did my own corner bead a lot of what we would do is metal and when it came to Windows and corners we would dog ear the tops in the bottoms of the windows and it helps prevent the corner from cracking because basically you're tying all four sides together now don't get me wrong finished product does mean everything and speed accounts for a lot but if you can add Integrity to something as small as the corner bead it actually does make a big difference

    It's both your responsibilities to communicate. Since you were talking to a electrician perhaps you should have explained what you would do in that window situation and see if this is will work for the guy. Would you hire a electrician and then tell him how to wire your job? No, you would tell him what you hope him to accomplish and then let the professional do what your paying him to do. I guess we all could be more humble and better listeners.

    Thanks for all the great videos! Been a great help. After taping, (using tapping mud), is it ok to put 1st coat (of topping) on, both at the same time, before taping has dried? Sorry I wasn't clear the 1st. time about before tapping has dried.

    I'm surprised that window beads aren't cut at 45º angles, is the square gap between the horizontal and vertical beads not a problem?

    I need to know the trick to bring the beads out far enough so when you fill them in with mud, the metal strip is covered. Not the bead but the metal between the bead and the edge of the paper.
    I find that they are low sometimes and that i end up sanding the paper off the metal.
    Then what about taping the inside and outside corners. I tape the inside 90 before i hang the bead. But what about the exposed area at the outside corner between the horizontal and vertical beads. Does that need tape somehow?

    • @THEDRYWALLDOCTOR1
      @THEDRYWALLDOCTOR1  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pinch the bead a little that will help on not sanding the paper. Painters will caulk that sometime when needed I put the bead on usually before I tape but not always
