    you dont need to put the cuttings in water to see the root buds. just look at the underside of a healthy vine, and you'll see dark nodules at a segment joint, they are what become water roots , or stabilizer roots, or stay root buds, depending on their proximity to soil/water. if you have a vine which grows near the soil, you'll know what i mean by stabilizer roots, they usually come down in 2's, and are rigid

    did you switch the water or do you keep the plants in the same water allergy the time?

    • @AnnasViolets
      @AnnasViolets  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I keep them in the same water. Only add more, when it evaporates

    Hi, hope you are well. Your plants looks great, amazing to see root growth after 1 day!
    I was wondering if this plant can be kept in water indefinitely like Pothos? I love the look of this plant & I’m planning on using it to keep nitrate levels low in my aquarium.
    If not, do you have any other suggestions? Thanks in advance :)

    • @AnnasViolets
      @AnnasViolets  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Rustin. I have never tried, but I would assume that it can be possible :) Try and let us know :)

      @Rustin-wy6yf ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@AnnasViolets I secured them onto the aquarium roughly 10 days ago. Since then, I'm seeing strong root growth (up to 15cm) and new leaves forming. nitrates levels have also decreased by 30ppm (originally 60ppm). Let's see how long it can thrive!

      Hi! How's the inchplant doing in water? I have a few planted tanks myself and was looking for plants that would do well in a paludarium. :)

    • @Rustin-wy6yf
      @Rustin-wy6yf ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@thundrthighs3538 Hey. It’s doing rather well actually. I secured 2 cuttings to my tank and they’ve grown around 20 leaves each.
      My tank is slightly overstocked & my nitrates stay around 10ppm.

      @@Rustin-wy6yf Mine has updates too. :) I stuck some trimmings on a floating log in my 50 gal planted tank and it has grown so much roots. I haven't dosed the water with fertilizers yet but it's been under a grow light and it's flourishing really well. Thanks for suggesting!

  • @maxsteinbach359

    To promote new growth, should I be cutting right below or right above the node?

    • @AnnasViolets
      @AnnasViolets  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      A little bit above the node, if the stems are leggy and the nodes grow far away from each other. If they grow thick, better cut in between

      Hi Kanna, in warm seasons (spring and summer) I grow mine outside on the balcony, but they will not survive winter in Europe. I would say 15-16 C should be the lowest. In which country or climate are you growing it?
