I’ve been using this desk on and off for 10 years. I hit it seriously probably once every two years for school productions, and have usually forgotten everything I learned before. What I’m looking at here is mastery. Don’t be fooled by how easy she makes it look. This desk is an absolute demon with pitfalls everywhere. Pay her!
I've operated the M7CL with QTip at a theatrical performance, and I must say, this desk is a beast. It is very hands on, the touchscreen annihilates the need of a computer screen (for example when I need to sort out harmonics and feedback on the microphones), plus the motorisation makes it very much alive. She is such a beauty, and the 48 + 4 channels just make me go "omnomnomnomnom" ;)
Excellent tutorial! I was just hired at a casino that uses this Digital Console and I want to make sure I know it by heart before I even start! You did a great job with this video :)
This is one of the better M7CL tutorials but there are a few mistakes throughout this tutorial. So anyone that is not familiar with this board, even a digital console, would be better off watching Yamaha's tutorial videos listed on their site.
She is showing you some routing and patching in the beginning. That will lose you if have never mixed on one. You can load your bands show from a thumb drive. You don't have to be a mastrer on the desk to mix on it. You just need to know basics, a few other things. I love this desk and I can't tell you how to get through the more intricate tricks. if you know how to mix on an analog console you need practice on the digitals. I have mixed monitors for festivals and national acts on this desk.
I really can't see what's going on here. It might be a good idea to try again with a higher res camera. Also, it's a little fast paced. Obviously you have an extensive knowledge of this console, but I felt a bit left in the dust!
She forgot to say to HOLD the select button of the channel you want to link while pressing the desired channels in order to link while being in the link screen! See I'm paying attention!

The M7CL is probably the easiest console to use, just like anything you have to play with it and work on it. Jump in and itll start making sense.
