    Cool ride.
    That is an old air compressor.
    The electric motor rotor with its stator, less copper windings like you pointed out.

    Well done to have achieved that challenging ride- beautiful scenery. Noted that you and your dad sat down on your bikes for some difficult terrain.
    ADV 101 suggests to stand on the bike and use your natural body torque to approach such difficulty. I'm a KLR rider and would definitely have been
    standing on most of those ascents. Just sayin.

    I need a nap watching you two muscle your way there, and picking up the bikes, but OH SO BEAUTIFUL AND WORTH IT. Well done

    Wow incredible views as well. Riding along that edge looked sketchy.

    Such a great video. I would be so worried about doing that on my main bike. I think I lived someplace like that, I would have something just for days like this. Fund adventure, thanks for sharing.

    You are to hard on your Dad, that being said awesome job especially on KLRs

    Interesting to hear you say that you have more control heading down the mountain, is that a widespread belief amongst the ADV fraternity, or is it a personal thing?

    • @AdventureTomek
      @AdventureTomek  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Might just be a personal thing. The 650 is a heavy bike for this type of trial as well

    You gotta get your Dad some bark busters before he breaks a lever out there. But dang, that scenery!

    I want to go ride next month some of the passes in Colorado, I am not an expert off-road rider by any means. I was planning to take this pass on my KTM 1190, but it looks like a very challenging pass. I know you ride off road all the time. Do you think it is easier or harder on the 1190 than the klr.

    • @AdventureTomek
      @AdventureTomek  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Harder on the 1190. Many because I tip toe on the 1190.
      Mosquito pass is very challenging due to the loose rock surface, if you stop or get stuck in the wrong spot very hard to get moving again on the larger bikes

    • @csiautodetail
      @csiautodetail ปีที่แล้ว

      @Adventure Tomek Yeah, I will definitely pass on the mosquito pass

      Get out of the saddle, stay loose, have a good attitude and commit. That 1190 will crush that pass...

    Question…what counter sprocket did you utilize on the KLR’s and did you do any carb rejecting for altitude on them. Been over that pass several times in Jeep and older carbureted ATV’s with rejetting.

    • @AdventureTomek
      @AdventureTomek  ปีที่แล้ว

      The rear sprocket was 2 plus from stock. Can’t remember the exact count.
      I assume the previous owner had to of had it rejettted since I have never had any issue at high altitude

    Do you guys have thermo bobs on your bikes?

    Damn. Them rocks have to be exhausting. Do you have to remain in the trail or are you allowed to take the side in the grass / brush?

    • @AdventureTomek
      @AdventureTomek  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s National forest, you should stay on the trial. No one is around to enforce those rules most of the time.

    Great video! I see you guys out there struggling manhandling your bikes. Don’t kill yourselves; “let the horse pull the plow”.
    But thanks for the video nonetheless 👍
