New to detecting here in New Jersey, US. I've been a surfer my entire life and you're 100% spot on with your judgements of where items will be lost & then located. I've personally lost stuff in ALL of these locations. Haha. I've been out 3 times so far, with average success. Simplex+ is my weapon of choice, tweaked out it does pretty well in wet and dry sand we have here. Thanks for the video.
Ive been trying to find a video that covers this subject,as thoroughly as you just have, for a while now. Thanks very much! I shall be putting these tips to good use on the Yorkshire coast.
Great video Paul 😉👏 very helpful .... most of my beach when tide goes out is black sands ... I need me vanquish ... haha 😂 as my ace 250 doesn’t like it .... constant says I’ve a target 🎯 .... of nothingness.....getting the nel Hunter coil ... heard meant to be good 😌 ... I only do beach detecting 😉😊
Ive been detecting at a tourist resort location on a tropical island and finding gold rings everyday, favorate find so far was an ounce coin while snorkelling and detecting, and found a gold half sovereign queen victoria 1892 coin on a gold necklace when i started detecting, amazing hobby!
Many years ago, I took an oceanography class that taught us that sand gets deposited over summer and washed away during stronger waves of winter storms. Any thoughts on how this could be used to a detectorist's advantage? Nevermind-I spoke too soon. You covered it.
I live on Cape Cod surrounded by beach and noticed you have the same detector I use, Vanquish 540. What settings do you use on the beach? I seem to have the best luck in jewelry mode.
Hi there, lovely part of the world you live.. if its working well for you I wouldn't change anything, keep it simple.. I do use jewellery mode majority of the time all metal with the iron volume set to low..it's

Nice 👍
Thinking of starting metal detecting and live near lots of low spots on beach .. why is black sand good for searching?
more dense than general sand and holds finds and keeps them in good condition
@@paulcee Thanks
Thank you 👍
No worries!
Very informative
Glad it was helpful!
where did you get the green cover?
Should help you bit.ly/green_coil
I never do well on the beach, usually enough for a bag of chips! 😅
a bag of chips isnt cheap so your not doing too bad.. cashless society going to make it a bit tougher
Niche ♥️🙏
