But.... I just made DeltaChase2.... That's supposed to be my new DeltaChase..... (Oh no.... if this game gets more popular, and not the one I want to get popular.... IT WOULD BECOME MY NEW DELTA CHASE! 😱)
We.... probably could.... But I have a bigger Steam game in the works that I really want to get back to. Game jams are a lot of fun, so they keep distracting me from it. 😅
@@HelperWesley oh, that's an issue indeed, I thought it was something related to GDevelop 😅 Thank you for the explanation ♥ and great job on your submission, looks EPIC ! 💪
@@Don-zo3ts Sorry, I can't really say, I just sort of stumbled in to this position. 😅 But if you want to work in the game development industry, or work with game engines, all you can really do is get the skills and experience required for the job you want, and keep an eye out for job offers in that field. Best of luck with it. 👍
wait you didn't actually mention where the game placed in the jam? I feel like that is what these videos are always kind of building up to at the end, but then this one just ended
The towers do a lot of the heavy lifting, and since they fire at the same rate on all of the games, and the enemy waves start and move at basically the same rate, it generally works out. The position of the players are synched, and so even though they don't tell the other games to trigger traps when they do, them being in the position to trigger a trap on another players game makes it trigger. So there will be a couple of enemies that slip through the cracks, but since you can't see the other games, you probably won't ever notice it. 😅🤞
GDevelop's built in multiplayer lobby system is pretty awesome. It handled all of the networking stuff for me, and I just focused on the game part. But it still took 3 days of no sleep, basically neglecting our health and families. Ya know... the usual jam stuff. 😅
@HelperWesley I meant on a logical aspect, how you managed to synchronize all, you just said " instead of giving all the same version to each player, when the host win, loose or end a wave, all other version synchronized to the first version", yes, but shouldn't it be the opposite? 😶😶😶 They should all merge to one, send to one, not receive from one. 😶
@@Ryöken17 I just scrambled and came up with the set up on the fly. 😅 The host is in control of the game and doesn't bother to wait for the other players. So if they kill all of their enemies, they just sit and wait for the host to finish, and if the host finishes first, it forces the other games to delete their enemies and start a new wave at the same time as the host. The player positions are being constantly sent, but other than that the only time information is sent is when one of the players places/delete a tower/trap, or when the wave/game ends. It's probably not the best system, but it works. lol
@@Ryöken17 The result of the wave in their game doesn't matter, technically. But them placing towers and triggering traps in their game, will place towers and trigger traps in the host's game, helping the host beat the wave, and winning the game for everyone overall.
There was almost no sleep had during this jam
You definitely had a 3 hour nap Saturday afternoon. lol.

Sorry, gentlemen. I'm late, but not missing. 🍷
🍷Gentlemen.
What was the issue exactly of ludum dare website not running gdevelop built-in multiplayer ? The multiplayer is supposed to work on any platform 🤔
The site blocks any external links, not just multiplayer, it wouldn't even let the links to open a url work.
@@HelperWesley oh, that's an issue indeed, I thought it was something related to GDevelop 😅
Thank you for the explanation ♥ and great job on your submission, looks EPIC ! 💪
...why couldn't you have just linked the two objects together with the link action?
Uuuuuuuuuhhhhhh...... I just found that linking them with a variable was easier during the rush of the jam. 😅
Sir do u own the G develop official channel 🤨
No, I just work for the GDevelop company, that's why it's my voice in the videos. 😅

Not great. 😅
261st overall, but the only reason we got that high was because Art CRUSHED IT and got 35th in the art category.
it seems kinda unplayable in multiplayer since the game state , enemies, traps are not synced
