      The crab is my favorite personally. You should make a crab boss that summons crabs and can control the water level in the room, making it harder to move around. Also, it would have a laser eye that can damage the player.

    saw the notification while at work and immediately wanted to watch it, very excited to see this game being overhauled as it got very repetitive after a while, mainly due to not much changed considering its a roguelike
    i still do believe you should add more enemies, environments, etc
    it will add a lot more variation and replayability, along with more weapons that can be obtained IN THE GAME rather than the hub
    ofc you dont have to take the advice but its just my personal thoughts

    I'm a big fan of rogue-like games, and I'm pretty impressed. Great job, and just a suggestion: The player and some enemies don't fit the dungeon vibe. I see it more like an army/tropical island environment. Maybe you could use islands and combine them with portals or have army camps in a tropical forest; that would make it more unique. But that's just my suggestion. Overall, it's a really well-made game. Good luck!

    First:
    The new art looks really fun now. Can't wait for the finished product!
    Some ideas I had after playing it online:
    potential bug:
    only once but when moving in direction of a wall and getting it I got stuck in the wall but could dash free
    The Ghost boss:
    It is not obvious what you have to do. Because all other ghosts become material over time the first two times fighting him I waited until he would materialize and only thought the crystals where decoration. It should be more obious what to do
    All my "upgrades" I spent money on in the shop felt like downgrades. I don't like the womans ability because it is basically just a dash and it is very underwhelming to spend money on a character that seems to be weaker.
    The same goes for the machine gun. It didn't really feel weaker but not like a worthwile purchase either.
    Edit: Not all upgrades. The robot feels really balanced with his shield ability leading to different strategies than the power shot of the first char.
    +1 Bullet, +40% power:
    It felt like the special ability of the first character got weaker because it is only one bullet. I theorize that the power of the special abilty is linked to your normal power and thus decreased without giving extra bullets.
    I don't know if it is intended but also not always two bullets would spawn but just one after taking the upgrade.
    In general upgrades lagged a bit behind and it took a few shots until they where implemented. Not a huge problem however because as soon as a new room was entered the upgrades where loaded. It was just a little bit annoying when trying out the new upgrade in the same room.
    It is also weird that I'm not able to shoot at bees when they are flying above furniture yet they can shoot at me.
    Health is to uncommon. I regularly have several rooms following each other without health but I get special ability recharge even though it is full. Sometimes getting +2 health upgrade and not being able to heal up to max afterwards was really frustrating.
    Maybe make it more indicative if the next fight will be a boss fight.
    There should be a warning before your shield expires (with the robot). Especially an auditive one because most of the time your focused on the enemy and not yourself so you wont know when it expires, but at the very least let it flicker before running out.
    Definite bug however I was not able to reproduce it:
    I don't know how but in one game I would dash whenever I pressed any movement key. It was like I kept holding the space bar down. Probably input lag.
    Bug/Lag:
    I sometimes got damage right before the spider attacked with her ability. In that cases the game lagged for half a second.
    This is all I have to criticize. In general the game is really fun to play and I always liked getting right back in.

      I'm surprised you got stuck in the wall, I thought I fixed that bug. 🤔
      I definitely need to add particles coming from the crystals to the boss, so people know they're connected.
      And yeah, I'll probably put an indicator of some kind in the top center of the screen showing how close you are to the next boss fight. It might help people know what they're working towards/where they are on the curve.

      @@HelperWesley I wasn't really inside the wall. I was on the left corner of the lower entrance that sticks into the room. I got swarmed by enemies and hit whilst moving towards that corner. After that I could not move left or right when walking (I don't know anymore if I tried walking up) but I could simply dash free. The animation played but it felt like I was moving into an obstacle that I could not see. However it only happened once and I was not able to recreate it so it might just have been a weird lag or me overlooking some obstacle or something in that instance. I've updated my comment to differentiate between potential bugs and bugs that definitly are bugs.

      I admittedly don't know everything about asepeite. Does that trim every frame differently? Or does it snag the the biggest frame and use that?
      Because I needed every frame to be the same size.

      It all takes time.
      I tossed out a bunch of half finished games before I figured out what I needed to do to finish a game. Game jams helped too.

    Bro the the player is going to go thorough the rooms alot so that portal mechanic needs more juice, the portal also doesn't makes sense, through a protal the player is supposed to be teleported to the other room but the camera transition from the room the player is currently in to the other room he is going to and we can see the rooms are just side by side, so it isnt much different than a door, when the player touches the portal he should maybe like do a spinning animation and and just instantly go to the other room and play the spining animation in reverse and a screen shake to top it all off it makes much for sense for a portal

      I'm not bold enough to compare my game to the best games out there in the genre. But I do think it's a lot of fun, and i think itll deliver a different experience because of its focus on the leaderboards.

      Also I'm absolutely and 100% certain that if you, or anyone tried their best you or them could get good at it. So don't compare yourself, just use others art as inspiration! And try your best. That's important too.

      Sorry for the late response, the biggest thing in pixelart is that people think that if you just learn pixelart it will be fine. But you should make an effort to improve all your art skills! Practice the fundamentals of traditional art and digital art and pixelart interchangably. By improving everything else you improve how good your pixelart skills are. Make sure that you also know that no matter how far you get you are never above watching a tutorial. I always watch tutorials to make myself get better even when I think I'm as good as can get, and then I realize every time I'm not! And that's a good thing! It helps you to improve. And if you ever feel burnt out never force yourself to draw things that you don't want to. But still draw outside your comfort zone. So many people draw and say "it's their style" but by saying that they are pushing themselves into a box! And that makes it much much harder to draw when you do that.
      Tldr:
      . Always practice every art form
      . You're never above rewatching a tutorial
      . Never use your style as a crutch or excuse
      . Don't ever think youre better or worse than anyone (that just tires you out)

      They're supposed to be spikes on the ground, it's a short range AOE attack around the crab.

      sorry for the late response! Well I sorta just used the designs from the game, and then just doodled something in pixelart because why not. Alot of pixelart is just trial and error like every other art form. just takes a bunch of practice
