- Unboxing and assembly of the Delta 36-725 T2 table saw from Lowes. Also incorporated the Kobalt router table. I will show you how I did it.
UPDATE: I ended up bolting the table down on the other end using spacers. The thing is solid now. Also, taking off the ruler is much easier than cutting down an allen wrench. If you plan on installing a table, just mount that arm in the down position.
UPDATE 2: After using the Kobalt table for almost 2 years I can not recommend it. If you have the means, upgrade. Here is what I did: • JessEm Router Lift Ins...

I was in the middle of making some kitchen cabinets and my Delta 36-600 motor died on me the other day. I was sick. I bought a new 36-725T2 last night and I’m going to put it together today to finish up my project this week. Last year I bought a Kobalt router like your’s. I will definitely be attaching it to my new table saw. Watching you put your saw together with the router table is going to save me some time by installing it before I put the whole thing together. I think I’ll make a dust collection box for it too, prior to first firing it up. Thanks for the video. Now I need to figure out how to recycle my old table saw into something useful other than a boat anchor. I got my money worth out of it, but hate to see it go.

Thanks for the video. I have the same set up. FYI. There are only 4 bolts holding that ruler on the one end (they are underneath). Took me literally about 3 minutes to take them off and not requiring me to cut my allen wrench. Just letting other viewers know this before cutting up an allen wrench. :)
Yes, better way for sure. I also bolted the sides of the table to the angle iron using spacers.
What an unbelievably helpful video. I'll be going out tomorrow to get that Kobalt and attach it to my saw. Wish I would have seen this video before I put my saw together, it would have helped me a bunch.
Fantastic, glad it helped. Be sure to bolt the table down in the other two corners as stated in the update. I used a spacer and a very thin rubber washer on each side.
Thanks for the great video. I purchased my Delta 36-725 T2 Saturday and had it put together with the Kobalt Router Table in 2 days. It works great and looks very professional. I have a one-car garage work shop so this works great. I can't wait to start some projects with this beast. I had already bought the Router back in the summer and had it mounted to a cabinet but this works so much better. Oh, by the way, it is much easier to install the router before you fully assemble the table. I installed mine before I put the bars for the fence on and it was much easier. I hadn't thought to use a manufactured router table, very nice👍 I've had the same table for about 6 months now and absolutely love it for the price point. Used the alignment tool they supplied and had no issues with leveling. I was much like you and spent the bulk of time leveling the table tops and rails to ensure proper function. I wish the extensions were made from something else as they tend to not be flat in the center, makes it difficult to use as extra work space as they are not level. Only had to make a few minor adjustments using my calipers to align the fence with miter slot. Thanks for the video and idea.
Terry, thanks for the comment. I love the saw too and my son recently bought one. I got the idea from a Facebook group dedicated to the 36-725. Lots of good info in that group.
@@AlaskaWorkshop since you have had the setup in place for the last 6 months, what issues have you encountered?
@@terrmaso I have had very few issues with the saw except for dust collection. If I were to do it over I would have spent more on a good router lift and built a table. The Kobalt router lift is not smooth and accurate.

I have been using the router a lot. Love it but I really need to upgrade the fence.
I haven't used the fence much...but it is somewhat quirky to get adjusted. Time will tell.
I have been looking at this saw for a while.. with the router its a definite buy for the future. thank you for the insite.

Man thus video was just in time. I just bought a used ts3650 ridgid table saw for $80 and found one of these router kits for $90 on a local yardsale sight. Bought them both with the thought of marrying the two together, but wasnt sure how it would workout. Different saw, but I think after watching your video. Its gonna work just fine. It would be cool if you did a follow up video with you actuall using the router table with the fence on etc... Im just starting to try and put my own little shop together in a 12x20 shed at my home. All the help I can get is greatly appreciated. Thanks again fir for the videos.
Brian, I do use it in my workbench video with the saw fence. Not in love with the router fence. I use the router table on all my projects now.

Jim, I will measure the cast iron when I get home from the lower 48. I won’t be able to help with the kobalt table though, I have updated since this video.
Just a heads up I had went through doing this. I finally got around to putting the router onto the table saw and didn’t go together as easy as it seemed for others. I found out that the one piece rail system puts that crossmember out about an extra inch compared to the stock 2 piece. I had to remove the furthest out bolt and slightly rotate it down to get it all level. Cranked down the single bolt holding it in place and it’s not going anywhere. I’ll likely go back through and put a bolt through the side like you did and will take place of the one I had to take out. Still wouldn’t trade the one piece because the setup was sooo much easier.

Saw is holding up well after a year and a half. Worth it for sure. I have been looking to upgrade the router table though. I would definitely do something different.

Just a small suggestion. Use lock tight on all of your nuts and bolts. Obviously, a table saw will have vibration, the locktight will help keeping the nuts and bolts from shaking loose.

Great idea. My questions is, how did you manage to find a store that has the saw in stock? I've been checking the Lowe's stores with in 50 miles of me and they can't give me a time frame to getting them in stock, and tell me I can't order it.
I heard there was a supply issue, but I saw one in my Lowes yesterday.
Great video! I had the same router table on my saw and could not get the thing flush with the table top. You really made this look easy. Did you center your router table and put spacers on both sides or just move the table to one side?
I centered it and found some nylon spacers that fit on each side. I had to add one thin washer to make a nice tight fit. I struggled more with getting the table saw extensions flush than I did with the router table.
So working on putting my kobalt on my delta saw now. Did you run into an issue with one of the router handles getting in the way of the cross bar from the saw? It's really no big deal, I just removed the router handle and it fit, but wasn't sure if you ran into that issue too and how you fixed it.
I didn't even try with the handles. I will be getting a second router for trim work so I don't think this one will leave the table.

I just used 1 screw on the sides of the cross bar and moved it to the right side of the saw and left the handles on. I made sure the adjustment hole lined up for raising and lowering the router and it works great. I put 3 screws in the left side of table and 1 on each end. Works Great.

Thanks. I just grabbed what I had in the bottom of my tool box. For the sides, pick up some small plastic spacers....1/2in or so. Or just use washers.

@@radutenenbaum977 For simple cuts it would work. A router fence is split in two where you can line it up to the center of the bit. I am thinking of modifying the saw fence to use with the router side.
TIPS AND SUGGESTIONS FOR OTHERS:
I’ve had mine now for about 2 months…
I’ve also been doing woodworking for many years. Things I’ve learned over the time…
Unless your garage floor is perfectly level (which most aren’t, and tend to have up to a 1 1/2” slope difference - front to back, etc), I wouldn’t rely on the level ‘bubbles’ to setup your rails/wings. Having your wings level to the floor is irrelevant. What counts is the wings and rails being in alignment with the cast iron table top. Then, having the saw level as a ‘whole’. Afte that, calibrate your saw blade + riving knife. Next, calibrate your fence.
However, the level can be useful to help ensure uniform “flushness” across the table top and wings (left to right, front to back).
It’s also easier installing the “wings” FIRST, then the rails; much easier and better to get everything aligned. This may vary person to person, but a lot of people have suggested and recommend it. As doing it the supposed correct way (in the manual) is a pain in ass (especially by yourself) to correctly calibrate and align them.
Additionally, the thin metal scrap they call an alignment tool sucks. They should have made it thicker so it doesn’t tip over, or slide around. You can make your own “jig” by tracing (and cutting out ) the metal onto either HDPE, thicker metal, or glue 2 pieces of 1/2” - 3/4” wood to both side of the metal tool, just ensure they’re flush.
Lastly, ensure your table saw is getting adequate power, AND you’re using at least a 12 AWG+ extension cord (if you need one) or it will suffer performance issues if to many things are in the same circuit. Get yourself a power meter such as this one for $20. It will show you live how many watts is being used, cost per kWh, alarm if your getting to close to max load, etc. using.

Get yourself a digital angle finder. Such as this one: Klein Tools www.homedepot.com/p/Klein-Tools-Digital-Angle-Gauge-and-Level-935DAG/311131769
I use it ALL THE TIME. You can use it for calibration your saw blades on the table saw and miter saw, etc. It allows you to set a “baseline zero level” (even if your floor isn’t). So you use the table top as your zero, and any slighted tilt from 0 - 180 degree it will read out in the display, even tells you to go back/forward or up/down.
Also by yourself this extremely precise precision/alignment tool call “A-LINE-IT” which has many functions, one being perfectly aligning your saw blade to the fence:

I just put mine together and mounted the same router table. I found the crossbar supporting the router table held it a touch too high. It hit the router table on the angled area on the outer edge so I used a washer to space it away from the steel extension table and it moved it far enough down the angle to get it about right on the height. Did you have to do something similar? It didn't look like it to me.
EDIT: It looks like you put the bar in opposite the way I did. When I put it the way you did, the table was too low on the out edge. Did you shim it up?
As you found out, turning the support arm does the trick. I did not have to shim up the table. I did use shims(washers) on the sides.
@@AlaskaWorkshop I might make some hardwood or plywood blocks that straddle the bar underneath and screw into them through the mounting holes on the top of the router table that used to go into the legs. I don't like how it sits, but it works for now.
@@AlaskaWorkshop I just put two boards under the router table. They are 1X3's that span the holes the legs used to attach to and have a notch that goes around the table saw's support bar under the router. The notch is cut so when you screw the router down through the old leg holes it snugs the router up against the bar. Much more secure and solid.

It’s worthwhile to drop by a Lowe’s or two and check in person. My local Lowe’s showed as out of stock and yet there it was waiting for me. Got mine yesterday.

I see this saw in stock every year around November and December then it’s gone. I looked for one today and had the same issue. Luckily there was one near my dad so he will drop it off to me next time he comes to visit.

Man the only bad thing about this saw is it is a b***h to assemble and get within my accepted tolerance. (The blade, and fence are easy, it’s making the table top and wings all flare with each orher

Contrary to the tool reviews the Delta 35-725T2 is junk. The motor is garbage and the capacitors don't work. Out if the box if didn't work so I had to take it to a service center to be repaired. Would not recommended purchasing the saw unless you plan on having it in the shop for repairs. Out of the box it didn't work.
It does seem to be hit or miss on this saw. There is a Facebook group dedicated to this saw for more info. My experience, I have had the saw for almost a year and have had no problems. Hope you got yours running.
