I like all your videos ,, you have a really nice way of showing how the farm works all the little nuts and BOLTS that it takes to keep the farm machines rolling I really appreciate it ,although I understand more of it already than some ,, myself having grown up on a farm in Iowa ,,and worked on a neighboring farm all through high-school and most of my 20s 2 thumbs up for a job well done
In the heyday of soybeans here in Georgia I can remember them being harvested with a row crop header. Seems that it might be a better way to harvest them than by using the grain header. I wondered if anyone in your area is or still uses a row crop header for soybeans? I can probably answer my own question by saying row crop headers have more moving parts and the yields probably aren't greatly improved with its use. I seem to remember they would have a separate header row device that would grasp and hold the soybeans before the actually went into the augers and then up through the feeder house on the combine. I bet someone could enlighten me on that topic.
onelonleyfarmer I guess that's why I knew of them because I sold JD parts in the 80's. I can remember selling rubberized belts for replacements for the header. Sorry your beans didn't turn out exactly as you wanted but I like your attitude because yields on all crops and fields vary from year to year. Will be looking forward to harvest of the rye Tim is planting.
Haven't watched them all (yet!), but love your clips. Used to work a lot on farms in uk, back in 70's and cut 800 acres a year (wheat and barley) with a 12 ft Massey. 21 + full days combining, and no drier. Would now be 4 days or so with a Lexion whatever. But, it was fun, and you, with your normal, rather than prairie, fields bring a delightful picture of us farming. (us as in United States rather than us!)
I just planted rye grass all in my yard, wish i had a seeder instead of throwing it out but it sure has worked and the neighbors are like what the heck. LOL
Nice harvest,The fish emulsion you use for deer repelant,do you think it is helping with your yield. I farm in michigan and we started using folier supplement applied with a sprayer 2 years ago,It has shown an increase yeild,But we also battle the evil deer so your fish spray interests me.It could do double duty.Once again great harvest,I very much enjoy them.
That corn picker is sooo cool! Is there a window or something so that you can film whats going on inside of the machine? I would love to see how it picks the crops apart. Could you possibly set a go pro camera in your field and let the picker scoop it up and let it run through the conveyors so we can see what's happening inside? That would be some awesome footage too. Thanks so much!
could not get to ur web site proxy error on my computer. Put up link on your home page like all the videos. Green jacket with logo u r wearing in the cab. Free advertisement lol looks nice keep on keepin on lol
The deer demolish my soybeans (or corn) a good 40 yards or more from most of the field edges. The outside edges look like someone has been in there with a weed whacker. The deer belong to the state but the state isn't interested in paying me for the damage they do to my crops.
We are cutting beans up here in Ontario too. Our moisture is running in the 14% range but it sure is nice to see them coming off. Then its corn time :*)
I wish I could have emailed you some rain ,, I live in southwest Iowa USA we didn't have a drought we had a wet summer we got 25 inches of rain from may 10th through august ,,10.5 inches in june alone and another 9.5 in august,,,,we had so much rain that the local water table rose 24 inches ,, we had 4 new fresh water springs pop up on my property as a result of all the rain
It seems to me if you had bigger trailers for your beans you wouldn't have to handle them so much. I bet a big sea container on a trailer would work well.
Just a thought... When you go to move the beans out of the barn, couldn't you use one or both of your loaders? I would think that would be much faster than auguring them out.
I googled "bushels per hour 8 inch auger". 1900 bushel per hour using 5 horsepower electric motor. I don't think you could match that with a loader- or even two. Not to mention the fuel used. HTH 57
We just got our beans planted yesterday. Did no till on 63 acres.
call me crazy i'd make a daily driver out of the 'modl A'
I can't plant soybeans. Farm Sim doesn't have them.
Awesomeness videos OLF keep the videos coming
hey bud keep up the videos there interesting
How come your rotor light is on? When you press "set" it doesn't go away? Would drive me nuts looking at that but that's just my OCD talking
The light is on because I broke the eye 😳 and I am waiting for a new one
Another one of your great videos Wes. Keep them coming I never get tired of watching.

Nice field of beans. We just startred picking around here, and most are averaging 75 bushels per acre.

jbm banter i remember those they where produced by john deere.. i don't think that any other companies made them..

Too funny! Welcome to 2018! My how times have changed!
I just planted rye grass all in my yard, wish i had a seeder instead of throwing it out but it sure has worked and the neighbors are like what the heck. LOL
A tipper trailer for the tractor would be handy for you, just reverse into your shed an tip your load.

You ARE kidding about running a camera thru a combine, I hope. Google internal workings of a combine. HTH 57
That's not possible. The camera would be crushed. You would perhaps need a camera the size and shape of a marble for it to happen.
go pro camera would get munched along with the beans and squashed into pieces
I am 10 years old and have been watching your videos for years. My name is Hunter and want you to keep up the good work and good videos.
Wes, do you think the improved yield on the beans was worth the total cost involved in getting the "fish juice" on them?
Beans, beans the musical fruit! The more you eat the more you toot!... :)
U had a drought in Michigan we had rain once a week thro almost the entire summer in Michigan a lot of soybeans run 110 bushels.
The best we ever had was 82 bushel we fertilized forcorn but ended up not growing any
I just realized you do have a front loader attachment for your tractor. Realized it when I caught up on your videos.
could not get to ur web site proxy error on my computer. Put up link on your home page like all the videos. Green jacket with logo u r wearing in the cab. Free advertisement lol looks nice keep on keepin on lol
Whats more profitable wes? Soybeans, corn or hay?
Wes don`t u plant corn any more i haven`t seen any corn fields?did u stop planting corn how come Wes
Getting soybeans out of the storage would be so much easier with a front loader, and would probably cut the time it takes in half.
Hmmm I don't remember this video and I thought you'd given up on crops other than hay.
You take care of Tim he is a good kid and give him credit where it is do.Put your arms around him sometimes and tell him you love him.
Looks like u got some damn good soybeans there Wes keep the videos coming I really like your channel man it awesome

I always like to see the results of a growing season and hard work. Thanks.
Im going to buy some stuff off your website in the next few weeks i like it alot! keep farming and making videos good job!
I'd offer to come hunt the deer, but I suspect we'd just chase them in a circle! LOL
great video wess!Love the combine work!ole Tim was getting er done!
did a cut and paste from above info, it works and I have ur web site
Awesome stuff! Video of the head being attached would be great too.
Nice soybeans how bout some stories while harvesting
Good to see the beans rolling in the and Tim working that drill well
we want more of this, love harvest time , I can smell thoses beans from here
For interest purposes about how much does a bushel of soya beans weigh please?
you'll have to hunt for it but its in there somewhere extension.missouri.edu/publications/DisplayPub.aspx?P=G4020
60 lbs per bushel
60 lb
TR 96 has got to be the best harvested ever produced. They got that one right.
We are cutting beans up here in Ontario too. Our moisture is running in the 14% range but it sure is nice to see them coming off. Then its corn time :*)
Wish our beans were as weed free as yours. Pigweed is just a bear for us to control.
nice combine action wes more of that please...
Im commenting ive rated and subscribed 👍
I wish i had 80 bushel beans only got 40 hear it's been so wet this year
Did you figure the yield for the other 8 acre parcel?
he doesn't raise muc
maybe just cuts beans and does hay thats what we do
Why don't you use Grain Bins for your soy beans?
What is the Stop the Pipeline sign all about? Good vids Wes
Love the vids I like any videos u do keep them coming lol
Wes, I sent you a PM about your website. It won't let me login. Help, I need a new hat!
Just log in as guest😀
i know that kid Wes!!! hahaha he is pretty cool haha
do you grow any other sort of grain than corn and soybeans?
really like the combine videos!
Don't feel bad Wes. Up here in northern Canada we had a drought to. But you guys are lucky we have 3 inches of snow already!!
I wish I could have emailed you some rain ,, I live in southwest Iowa USA
we didn't have a drought we had a wet summer
we got 25 inches of rain from may 10th through august ,,10.5 inches in june alone and another 9.5 in august,,,,we had so much rain that the local water table rose 24 inches ,, we had 4 new fresh water springs pop up on my property as a result of all the rain
same here..... missed a few rain in late july and had nothing in august... raining now though... when I dont want it .
wildcoyote34 its the same in WI rained like crazy. I know no one who was able to make 1st 3rd or 4th cut dry hay that didn't get rained on
hey wes you should put a camera on the wagons so we can see it fill
Why do you plant rye after soy beans
Not shipping to Canada yet? :(
How much land do you farm :}
I want to see more videos like this
awesome :) keep up the awesome work!
Good you got it in before the rain.
how often do u plow your fields
you remind me of my uncle Kevin
I love watching you work with your tractors and family.. My kids love watching you too..
Beans beans and more beans lol
It seems to me if you had bigger trailers for your beans you wouldn't have to handle them so much. I bet a big sea container on a trailer would work well.
It would weigh like a freight train and compaction would be an issue. Not to mention, movin that thing over the road would be dangerous. HTH 57
Yeah RK Harm we need love to bro. Maybe Wes will see this and let us know something
they should be up on the site in a week
Nice to see different machines working please keep up the videos. I suggest you let Tim do a video something different:)
Looking good....busy busy.
Awesome videos man
A real good video!!!
When ur taping in the combine could u put the camera looking forward instead of at the ground
awesome video as usual
We've unloaded barley inside a barn until time to sell, Buildings make great grain bins.

Super Nice

How do you attach the header to thhe combine?
watch 'capturing the grain platform' he made it last year
Just a thought... When you go to move the beans out of the barn, couldn't you use one or both of your loaders? I would think that would be much faster than auguring them out.

57fitter
