"Is this the spirit of motherwill? Because the game just crashed." 😂
The Damage type System was originally Used in Chromehounds
A Multiplayer Focused Mech game with Similar levels of Customization to Armored core made By Fromsoft for the Xbox 360
It was The game that Introduced the Faction Territory pvp system and The Online world bosses in AC5 and Verdict Day
Chromehounds was met With Mediocre Reviews and sales
Inspite of its Innovative features back in 2006
Chromehounds was an underrated multiplayer masterpiece in my personal opinion
I hope that Fromsoft will eventually make Chromehounds 2 with better netcode and Crossplay
That Game would Geniunely succeed in today's Multiplayer Competitive age
Chromehounds is the both the single greatest multiplayer experience I ever had, and the most underrated sleeper hit of all time
Gotta try it :D
I heard a lot of good thing about it. might try it after I buy a new pc
@@ruikiri yeah about that.....
@@ruikiri
The servers are dead
And the single player Content is less than Verdict day and Even less than AC5
Chromehounds was a far more Multiplayer Focused Game than AC5 and Verdict Day
The moment the Servers got shut Down
Is the Moment more than 80% of its Content became unplayable
Unless Someone built some Cool stable private servers on pc
There is no Way to experience most of chromehound's content
Be prepared for more Reaper Squad.
Here's a hint: Their leader is very...interesting, to say the least.
To kinda cheat the damage formula, KE weapons tend to not have a huge amount of damage anyway so go for ammo and fire rate like the miniguns. It's going to be scratch damage anyway so might as well get as many scratches as possible. CE and TE tend to have huge numbers so unless they got every part resistant it's going to be effective. HEAT rockets for instance have like 3K damage. Even with all CE resistance it's hard to get a number that high, so it will almost always be an effective hit. It's also why that blade is working so well for you. Your defense should be the reverse. High CE or TE and around 1.5k KE (it shows up at least once almost every mission), just avoid the one damage type you can't build for.
Whats fun about miniguns is despite usually being "ineffective" weapons because of how they work and how damage is calculated in the game they are largely unaffected by that stuff.
Another way to get past Defense though is to have a high Impact Force weapon pairing so you can inflict Armor Break on your target which reduces all their defensive stats by 20%
nice
The point of KE weapons aside from scratch damage is impact force. Most KE weapons above the obviously lesser ones deal a decent amount of impact and are reasonably accurate to boot, such as large missiles and sniper rifles. I've found that even when the rifles say "ineffective"--whether they ricochet or not--the amount of impact force generated remains, so the beginner rifle that you get at the start (non-junk of course) is one of the best for this in all categories, paired with a lightweight sniper rifle and wither vertical missiles or large missiles in a dual-shoulder frame make for an extremely deadly AC for pvp and most pve

Take note devs: When a toggle specifically to disable 1 or 2 sound files would be a huge improvement on your game, you should do something about that.
You can choose diffrent voices for the system audio, there should definitely be a "silent" option that is just an empty audio file
ACV rule of thumb: if you're not firing your weapons, you should be in scan mode.
Yeah the final boss made me realize that xb
Lol I'm honestly happy to see it go away. It was a whole skill on it's own to be able to switch back and forth from scan mode in the middle of a tense fire fight and looking back on it now, even though it was really cool in a way, it was also kind of an annoying mechanic to deal with all the time.
@@f0zzy0zzy i agree, its kind of cool when you get it right, but at the same i dont really like constantly switching between blue screen and run away or normal colors and attack xb
Generally speaking, I kinda realized quickly to have multiple weapon types seeing as there were 3, even before I saw how much less damage "ineffective" shots could make. My general ACs usually have a KE weapon and a CE weapon as main weapons, or CE and TE. I don't have any that has double KE weapons save for an Autocannon build and a a build that uses the Heat Cannon weapon arms but has gatling cannons as backups.
Keep in mind, you *do* have the ability to carry up to 5 weapons, plus the kick. It isn't necessary to botch a fight just to see what the enemy is weak to and it's pretty easy to have a loadout that does cover all your bases.
Also the game *does* have a more standard level select, it's just kinda... unnecessarily hidden behind Player Data.
Ill try to mix it up but i feel like the way things are designed, while it may br possible to equip for everything and whatnot... going in, basically commit suicide and then coming back with the best suited damage type still sounds like a pretty effective method of completing missions, in the easiest way possible xb
@@ruikiri Well, it is costly, and I do agree with some others that *is* kind of par for the course for most other AC games.
You'll change your tune about the UNACs when you actually get some of your own. I haven't really played the game in a while, but I do recall hearing a lot about how you could actually program them to be even better than actual human players and basically beat the game for you if supplied with the right loadout and programming.
I have heard the same but i still havent gotten into that whole thing :D
its tactical ARMORED CORE SERIES, and i love it
1. The game does tell you you can switch weapon and drop them in the tutorial
2. You can save your AC design. They even give you blueprint like schematic back in ACfa
3. You can see the type of enemies you will he facing in the mission briefing. Most of the time though they weak to TE. The Unidentified Weapon, those unique enemies tend to weak to CE dmg. And the AC is spend on their build something you can mix match what type you need
4. You have default melee weapon by using the quick boost. Hold the QB button and dash toward enemies to deal melee damage with kick some you don't need to bring laser Valdez if you don't want to
1. yeah its likely, but i checked the controls menu when i forgot and it was not clear on how to do it.
2. i might have forgotten about that xb
3. you can see enemy types but no weaknesses are specified which would be nice :(
4. i know but i suck at landing that melee attack xb
It occurs to me that the reason using two of the right type ends missions so fast is because the design intention is that you will be bringing a mixed loadout, so you have double the expected DPS due to having two weapons of the right type. You basically have 5 weapon slots (if you count missiles as one) and 3 damage types, after all.
I guess that is correct xb you can pack dual rifles plus a something for chemical and a laser sword for thermal... although having double of the most effective type will always be better/faster so i dont know if its good design or not xb
My first build was dual rifle/ dual battle rifle for a KE/CE combo. Didn't like energy weapons as they drained the same meter dedicated to boosting. Didn't use a shoulder as it was just extra weight that could be dedicated to more gun.
Ended up building an energy conservative big boi that can use energy weapons while high boosting for a short time, or keep high boosting forever, and can charge nearly instantly in scan mode. I called it "Jotun".
"I wanna drop 300 decals if I feel like it. Go for that Need For Speed livery editor." That line is PURE GOLD. And I do agree that it might definitely be like Need For Speed, but, not like you cannot do that in Trackmania (you can put millions of decals, stencils and actual text to your car).
i only played nations forever because it was free xb but NFS was always my bread and butter when it came to racing games.. and maybe a little bit of forza for the drifting :D BUT YES, i hope we get a sick Editor on AC6 xb
i allways use a build whit full movility
i forgot the resistence but the enemies cant reach me
i recomend you the legs inverted articulation and missiles AS
in weapon 2 rifles and 2 machinegun HEAT
Honestly you make me want to try verdict day as well, if only the multiplayer was available.
from what i heard it is still available on ps3 and even on emulator i think some of the functionalities are now accessible again :) but havent really played with it so cant really say for sure
@@ruikiri seems that pvp is possible but for coop someone would need to setup a server. Maybe after AC 6 is out, and the franchise gets more popular!
Entirely agree about the damage types, cool concept with unexpectedly antiplayer design. But I'd much rather return to the flying ACs instead of these grounded ones; seriously they removed flying because a thousand ton mech staying airborne is 'unrealistic', but they instead thought the same excessive machine can walljump like mario without even scratching a building.
As someone who's completed 3 4 & 5, I hope AC6 is more like 3 & 4 because man 5 is just frustrating and depressing compared to it's predecessors.
How to put your fanchise in a 10 year coma......
1. Borked Damage types and resistances to pad out gameplay.
2. Hardcore multiplayer focus that hardly anyone played.
3. Unbalanced economy and scoring system that hinders progression and parts unlocking.
4. Rediculous enemies that act like their on human plus, instakill damage, and dont follow the rules of the game.
Imagine if the armor in ARMORED Core actually did something, huh? Well, in Gen 5 it does.
I tried to like AC5VD so many times, but just got too tired of the RPS damage system. Armored Core is all about building your mech for your style, and overcoming missions with skill, not building for each mission.
i agree with the damage types, while i enjoy the variety, coming from souls, i just wish it didnt make as much of a diffrence as it does in missions, sometimes you really are better off just leaving the mission and coming back because you have the wrong weapon for the job and a lot of times its not even worth trying
@@ruikiri VD is the only AC game I've never beaten. It just took away every fun I've enjoyed from the AC series since AC2, and there's just no point in customizing your AC when the game itself tells you what to put on. ACV was fine until after a few patches when it got more stringest with RPS damage, and then it just got a lot worse with VD. I decided to stick with playing 4th gen instead, and I hope From Software won't bring this RPS system back in AC6, which isn't likely anyway. AC5 was created by a different person, plus in From Software's interviews about AC6, they said that picking weapons won't be about stats, but about how the weapons feel and what they do. They admitted themselves that they don't want players to pick the parts based on how high the stat numbers are.
not gonna lie verdict day had the most character to it in terms of gameplay. A scan mode that even showed the players emblem in MP( to me this is just gundam as fuck the scan system just had that larping effect that i like from gundam animes[wing gundam ,strike gundam scan mode]) , super weapons and even Crazy convertible arms. It may have been armored core's last breath before sleeping for a decade+ but it left character and just silly features that i liked.
Personally its one of my favourites so far :)
My generic ACV/VD loadout was:
Right Main: KE rifle/battle rifle
Left Main: CE machine gun
Right Back: TE rifle
Left Back: Laser sword
Mine was Sniper Cannon and reverse jointed.
I loved my Sniper Cannon.
For someone who doesn't want to play just Armored Core, you sure do seem to pull off the best AC vids on YT pretty easily.
That's not me blowing smoke either. If it was, you'd be high right now.
Thanks man :D
I swear ACV was a little more forgiving when bringing in the wrong damage types. Feels like VD forces me to create a new AC every three missions to survive.
that one handgun that looks like an UZI is OP as hell
"I Have a Problem with ARMORED CORE Verdict Day..." You and half the AC Fan base
Xb
Just use double gatling lol, resistant doesn't mean shiet if you have more than enough ammo. Otherwise use snipers, they usually have more than enough dmg value to overcome res. Also use boost charge(kick) they do a shit ton of dmg regardless of res.
Also changing loadouts every mission has always been the core experience, if anything most missions in AC3 and AC4A are too easy that there are barely any reason to change builds.
Dayum son, check your e-mails! 🤣
Sorry man xb i just did, ill add you on discord as soon as i get home xb

@@MistaFiOth i just forgot cuz i went straight to bed once i got home from work, but im already in your discord now :D
Yeah blades ate pretty damn nasty in this game
Personally i like the powerhouse blades xb
Damage types are somewhat part of ACV/VD lore. AC that we use in 5/VD are all second hand machine, I will called them Midget Core for easier explain. In the past before the story of V/VD, our midgets were mass produced to replaced the NEXTs, but they didn't have much protection cuz they had no Primal Armored (energy shield in 4/FA and they radiates everything near them) So corporations said fuck it, just put more armored on Midgets.
War go on, a lot of midgets were dead and the richs went to space then story of V/VD began
Back to damage types, they were tied to parts design.
-KE parts are angle to reflect bullets and space armor
-CE parts are blocky, have very thick armored plates, put nets and ERA (Explosive Reactive Armor) everywhere
-TE parts are similar to CE but round and THICC legs
Man I wish emulated multiplayer worked well for this game
Bro you playing this game makes me wanna go back to the ps3 and play it too lol
It is fun xb
05:24
it's me
I must be losing my mind, I thought you could save a bunch of designs and just load them in? It's been a while since I played but I remember having a bunch of ACs saved that were built for cosplay and unique mission types (like full power, mobility, etc)
You can
Hell, in this game you can even quick load a saved loadout or hop into your garage from INSIDE THE BRIEFING SCREEN
You can , i just forgot about that xb i actually cut that part out of the video because it was just misinformation
You at least can counter act the damage type resistances by bringing a different set(which would still force you to use a weapon type you might not enjoy).
The same cant be said for your own defenses since thats directly tied to the weight class.
Want to play light but have an enemy thats focused on CE or TE?
Well tough luck(its not quite as bad for heavies since they generally have higher def but still not great).
The completely artificial restrictions in favor of multiplayer balance felt horrible.
Remember that you can use the boost button to do a charge attack with your knee. Hold down your boost button and you'll do the attack. It does a lot of damage surprisingly
I would recommend, that you come back to the 1 vs 2 mission, to take a look at the HUGE wall, that there's in the area....
in verdict day you can "program" your own AI buddy, that can come with you on mission n stuff, ya should def give it a shot, and see if ya can produce something with it, was def a highlight of the game for me back then....
But will it turn on me later? :/ when i least expect it ? Xb
@@ruikiri thats for u to find out~
@@GunRunner106 sounds ominous xb
There is no diagnose of Skill Issues in Armored Core.. And the cure more time in the workshop.
Skill Solution
I was playing this recently and going in a mission without the proper weapons is more frustrating than dying in Dark Souls
By the way there are secret parts that can be found in missions
You can check for objectives and secret objectives in the main menu or at the end mission by pressing "Y"or even in game like if you were going to quit there list of objectives.
Just pointing this because i noticed you missed so on a few missions. Keep up great work i hope you try V at some point
I know about the secondary objectives but i was not aware there were hidden parts in this game, that is cool though :D
@@ruikiri If the mission has a sub objective that is scrap collection, it has a hidden part. You can check in the mission select under Player Data. You'll need to be in Scan mode but once you get close enough (not overly far away but not extremely close), then you'll see a distinct icon over its location.
How did you run ac vd with this fps
Check my first video on it, im using a Xenia build from the AC Discord that allowd you to play quite nicely
Also you actually have a multiple load out system
Yeah i forgot about the schematic/data thing xb
You should try boosting at enemies up close. It's a strong melee and scales with weight and leg type.
I have tried it but i suck at landing the kick xb
@@ruikiri I'd want to add there's bug with game engine, if you're running at 60 FPS you literally can't kick anything because the window for the hitbox is tied to the framerate except for tanks there still enough time but it's still longer than on console which ran at run 29/30 to max fps of 50.
also other weird design decisions in other gens but that's pretty much fixed in 5th gen
@@ruikiri the hitbox is a little wider than just in front of you, so there's a chance you can cause it as a reflex dodge to look around and 1-shot a man.
When you run out of content don't forget to compare daemon x machina. Game play wise I think I prefered watching you play For answer😅Actually maybe not, you seem to make it feel interesting, must be your charisma👍
Thanks man :D i will check ou daemon x machina too one day.. but probably only after ac6
I hope The damage types are gone in AC6
Restricts builds
I sort of feel that in a way, because you cant just use what you want, theres a certain necessity to go for the enemies weakness which means switching things around constantly.. but for a game with so many parts and weapons, i also kind of like that i am forced to use diffrent things :)
Doesn’t restrict your build, you just gotta understand how the system works and how best to mod your weapons. For example I’ll pair two CE rifles, one with high impact, slow fire rate and high acc with the other being high fire rate low impact. With this setup it’s doesn’t matter what your CE defense is it will melt any AC quickly. Consecutive hits reduce defense effectiveness and in time will guard break, high impact will stun and stopping their movement allowing for the fast fire rate to keep chipping away.
Damage types have been in literally every AC game.
And it doesn't restrict builds, it adds variety. What restriction is there to "Maybe try other weapons" unless you really don't like experimenting, you know?
Wdym it does not?
I played every generation
Only in AC5 did I consider having damage for every type
Usually I use what I want. I use what makes me happy
@@breaklpoint1008 So I guess it sounds like your builds aren't restricted, then. As I said, it doesn't really restrict builds unless you don't care to experiment.
And in previous games I've also considered having multiple types, so I guess I'm more used to the concept.
Try play AC1 and see how they handle dying and continuing. Its a great part of the story.
Do they acknowledge that you failed? In ac2 and 3 you can fail a mission and keep going unless its a critical one.. but in those games you die because you suck xb and not because you lost a coin toss..
@@ruikiri Ah yes I forgot you played 2. Yeah its the failure and debt to a massive corp until you have to given in and become a Human Plus to try make it forward. To me that was always very nice as it fit with the corporate idea of you being a piece of meat owned by the companies.
@@Prockski just like real life xb
Highly recommend V. VD is just a massive step down from V IMO. Best thing about V is that the maps were actually made with the movement system in mind, so there's tons of verticality.
I wouldn't say VD is a massive step down in general. VD is a much better game, it's level design just doesn't match V's.
On that ancient machines mission... I used sniper rifle and sniper cannon with deployable thingy for the suicide... squid... eye/s thingys :))
You know you can make your own decal too right ?
Some I think even uploaded their own images and added as decals :))
Love your build :) You gotta make a video about that too :)
Also, did you found some parts... scatter throughout certain levels ?
i found out like 2 days ago that hidden parts were a thing in this game, so no xb but ill be on the lookout from now on.
i havent made my own decal but ill definitely give it a try and see what its like :)
Idk if it works on VD, but on 5 you could gain small amounts of altitude by doing the knee bash attack while in hover mode
Works in VD, you can also do the opposite by Kicking downward to do a slam attack
Sounds like a skill issue LMAOOOOO
Also you can see the Weapon Change button (and input command) in the Button Mapping section of the options
Yes, while not directly addressed that is belived to be the semi-functional *wreckage* of the Spirit of Motherwill
Color sets were a thing in AC4 as well, and you could also save Custom Palettes just like in this game
The Decal and Emblem system for 5th Gen is INSANE, just look up what people can make with it
Going back and tweaking your build after getting your ass demolished IS the intended Armored Core experience, always has been, that's HOW you adapt to the situation bro what are you talking about.
"Shouldn't be part of the gameplay loop" BRO what the hell are you even TALKING ABOUT??? It's been a part of the gameplay loop in every single game in this series you've played!
Not really, you die because the game is hard but in every armored core game you could deal with the situation if you were good.. dying isnt something youre suposed to do, although it will happen... here though, you might as well just quit out sometimes xb
also the game does not tell you how to switch weapons on the menu screen! it has a button for "bay shift" but doesnt explain that you have to hold it and then press fire on the weapon you want to switch :)
Your problem is you don't quite know how to build an AC in this game. I'm looking at your parts alone, and all your body parts are made for KE defense. The only weapons you are resistant to are KE weapons. CE and TE weapons are hitting you for near full damage. You need to actually explore your stats in the garage, and see what your options are for resisting the other 2 damage types.
perhaps although most of my problems come from damage dealt to enemies and not so much with survivability, but i guess if i survive longer i can do more damage too... i will look into that :)
@@ruikiri from what I can tell, you have prioritized high rate of fire weapons over high attack power weapons, with the exception of using rifles. The advantages of this are obvious, but the disadvantage is that the majority of all machine gun type weapons is that they are most resisted weapons in the game. Even enemies with relatively low TE defense can shrug off pulse machine guns.
Try to think of defenses (both yours and your enemies) in caps. If your enemy has 2000 KE Def, your KE weapon would need over 2000 Attack Power to be an effective weapon against their KE defense.
@@adamsee4144 yes i have because it was easier to stay on target with high fire rate weapons which usually come with higher projectile speeds too.. while the harder hitting weapons used to have lower projectile speeds (except for maybe snipers) so this type of setup worked for me in other games but now because of the 5th gen damage types its.. confusing xb im still trying to wrap my head around it
@@ruikiri lol I can understand the confusion. Because the damage system in this works in 2 different formulas, it's much easier to just use high rate of fire to spray n pray. If you're good at dodging or have high defenses, spray n pray tactics mixed with hard hitting melee can serve you well.
