Hyacinths are by far my favorite macaws! I will never own one, but would love to hold and interact with one! I fell in love with those magnificent birds when I was 13, and that love is still there and I am 41.
I binge watch Marlene and her birds. I love her & George and have fallen in love with all of her birds. I'm grateful for her and all that she does for birds in need. For some reason this video is my absolute favorite! Thank-You. God bless all of you. 🦖💕
I 💕 loved 💕 this video because I have never seen a Hyacinth Macaw. I can't believe how karge they are . Honestly, at first I thought that Caroline had a big stuffed bird on her shoulder - ya know- like most of us who love burds...LOL I'm in awe. Plus, this tiny women has these enormous burds and she must have nerves of steel to have them free flighted. I've watched the Channel with the training for free flighted birds and to watch the fun, freedom of true flight and the joy these birds experience overwhelms me with happiness. Thank-You Marlene, George( do you have a waay older brother ( wink, wink) and Caroline. Thanks to the beautiful, sweet loving burbs that I get to know and fall in love with every day. Marlene - you are the sweetest kindest person. George - Tight hug...I watched the video where you helped a family who needed $65.00 for a room because they were down on their luck. I was humbled by your kindness, generosity of spirit, and compassion. God will bless you! 💕 It's important to understand that this could happen to anyone of us. We or family could lose a job, sometimes just the loss a days pay could be the difference between having a safe place to live and being homeless. If you can't afford the $ - a bag with water, sandwiches,an extra blanket and towels will help that person know that they aren't alone in this world. It could mean the difference between being able to present yourself the next day at a job interview and being hired. 💪 God bless you all. 🙏💕
Hi Marlene thanks so much for sharing this wonderful video.i like to be around alot of birds when I was growing up my mom had all kinds of birds.she even had a pocket parrot a rare bird.it was a minture parrot and she had about 4 Amazon parrots, and parrolets, and conures, and cockatiels.people used to call my mom the bird lady.but now my brother has most of her birds.which is so nice.well you have a blessed evening with all of your birds and George.
Thank you so much Marlene for taking in so many parrots and giving them the wonderful life they deserve. As a parrot Mom, I can see that you definitely have a special way with these magnificent creatures. I especially love that you have a sweater on Jersey to keep her warm and to discourage plucking. My flock of 6 (2 parakeets, 2 cockatiels, Congo African Grey and my precious Blue and Gold Macaw) have been rescued by me. They are my world. I wish I had a beautiful, enormous house as you do, to rescue more! God bless you for what you do!
Your point about the bird having confidence in flight and balance/ landing is spot on! My BFA was re-homed from a breeder. He obviously had the opportunity to fly at some point and had never been clipped. His issue is with landing. I do encourage him to fly (indoors, of course) and I give him a lot of space. I can see that he's improving. I've had him for nearly 10 years. He is now able to land on the back of a chair- intentionally 😃. He will occasionally fly across the room, unprompted. He gets lots of praise and a big treat for that. He will also fly away from the cat (his friend, they generally ignore one another) they are never unsupervised....it is taking a long time for him to gain confidence in landing.
Hi Marlene, This was an awesome video, start to finish. Getting to meet Carolin's two Hyacinth macaws was fantastic. They are beautiful, I never knew that they are refereed to as gentle giants - it makes me want one even more. The bird farm we go to had one the other day; I wanted to handle it, but there were so many people around it I didn't want to shove my way in. You always want to know what we liked best, so: I really enjoyed the interaction between you and George and that George is becoming more verbal in sharing his opinions and knowledge about birds. As a couple, the two of you are becoming a more cohesive team in the videos. Next to the birds, I enjoy watching you and George grow together as a couple and bird specialists.
Thank you so much for noticing that❤I think we might be going back to do another video if she still needs more help. We talked a lot about glory and her issues off-camera but hopefully we can come back and do some more work with Glory, iit may help everyone❤
Aww Marlene is a great example of a true bird lover. She knows there are many rescues that need help and choose to take care of them instead of just buying a brand new bird from a breeder.
I have two of the most beautiful and pampered green parakeets,we love them so much they’ve got the biggest personalities. Anyone coming to our home is used to them running around playing ball and playing on their playground. Birds are awesome.
Totally awesome video Marlene. I Loved seeing you George and Carolin together with the birds. Love you all Good to see good responsible bird owners each in your own way like you said.
Nice video! Love seeing the care and patience you all have for the birds💙💚💛 Those hyacinths are gorgeous and Love is the sweetest I hope to just hold one one day. And George being sleepy throughout the entire video😂😂😂😂
I go to the exotic bird and reptile store every weekend and there are two hyacinth macaws and I totally bonded with the one and every time I come him we both get so excited. Definitely a dream bird of mine 😍
Wow, 2 Hyacinth Macaws !!! if I am not wrong I think they are the largest of the Macaws ? and I have to get me one of the Vinnie gang hoodies !!!! Carolin is a amazing lady and 100% about her birds. Just like you Marlene !!
@@MARLENEMCCOHEN I also really loved the conversation you had about adopting being the same as rescuing because the parrot learns how to live in their own world with their own parent. When the parents change their world changes so the adopting parents have to adapt to their parrot. I wanted to add that parrots are practically human toddlers! They have so many needs and the parents need to provide everything for their parrot as if it is a tiny person. Much love to you all, your video made me cry happy tears, you are all such kind devoted humans. I feel sad tho as so many of the hyacinth macaws are snatched from nests as babies n traded. Love how you call us sniffers, I'm such a bird sniffer too. My current bird is a canary and I have recall with him too. Thanks for your videos they are wonderful.
I have a 21 year old yellow naped amazon that we adopted 8 years ago. We highly believe in free flight birds. Unfortunately my amazon will never fly again due to the last person who clipped his wigs messed up and caused major damage. Clipped way to short. He has mastered gliding though.

We have 8 birds and they are free flyers. It took forever to train them, but our babies get to be free 24/7. We couldn't imagine life without them, even though they are very loud and love to do dive bombs on us.
I haven’t been to this store in years, it’s called Bird Crazy in Claremont Mesa, Ca. They had two of those Macaws in a large cage in the back of the store😢 Apparently they bit their previous owners. So Beautiful and so sad!
