    I have an ‘06 VRSCR Street Rod and absolutely love it. It is my only transportation and commute over 150 miles round trip on it. The only mods that I am running are a V&H 2 into 1 with a K&N filter and Fuel Pack along with the Screaming Eagle Slipper Clutch. It’s an absolute blast to ride. Especially in high speed sweepers. The VRSCD model also comes with mid controls but doesn’t have the decreased rake of the Street Rod. The Street Rod also was the first model to have inverted forks, Brembo brakes and a 5 gallon fuel tank.

    Looking at the speedometer, it appears that the needle barely touches the 60 mph mark, but it seems on video like you are hauling ass like over 100 mph!!!! Is that because you are low to the ground?

    It's fuel injected... shouldn't require warming up for the engine to run smooth

      I had a black & silver 03 V-Rod with aftermarket exhaust and it ran perfectly hot or cold. Problem with this bike is that it was never tuned or tuned incorrectly after the stock exhaust was replaced.

      @@tomheringer2047 yes, exactly! That was such a salesperson line, while we all know there's a tuning issue... during a test drive you can always say "it won't do that once the engine's warm"

    • @alteredstateskustom

      Of course you have to warm the motor up.

    The Vrod is liquid cooled, which means that the engine can rev higher and go faster. All other Harley bikes are air cooled. Watch birth of the Vrod. :)

    • @Srkcycles
      @Srkcycles  8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      did i say that this was air cooled? if i did that was a mistake , yes these are water cooled but just because its water cooled does not make it rev higher or go faster. the over all design of the motors decides those factors(compression ratio, bore and strong, engines componets,,,) ,there are limitation on aircooled motors. but dont forget about all the high horsepower air cooled Porsches out there.
      thanks for watching

    I’ve been contemplating getting either this or the 2017 fatboy s for my first bike. I will be getting both either way. I’ve heard the v rod you can’t ride long because the seating position is uncomfortable and you get wind blasted to hell, but I’m not sure. I’ve seen some of these with fairing and the sissy bar combo, but it looks better without to be honest. Could just get one with those options and take them on/off at my leisure, if that isn’t a particularly difficult task, of course.

    • @GarlicKnot5
      @GarlicKnot5 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Considering this bike is going for a decent bit cheaper than the fat boy, I’ll be going for the v rod first. My neighbor growing up in Alaska had a sportster, a wide glide, an Electra glide, and a v rod. Always loved the v rod the most.

      I have a 2004 v-rod, and sure it's not the most comfortable bike for long haul trips, but it's not impossible to do it, I've done a couple trips from Mexico to Sturgis (4,500 miles round trip) in my v-rod. 😎👍

      techFALL11 For big guys the foreword controls make putting a foot down at stops slightly difficult because to bike sits so low with the early models. Also they have small gas tanks on early models and get bad mileage, especially with big guys, and you have to fuel up about every 80 miles at freeway speeds

    Which year was the worst for the V rods?

    • @bennavarrete2487
      @bennavarrete2487 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The "worst" it's supposed to be the 2007 year v-rod, that year increased the rear tire from 180 to 240mm making the bike heavier but keeping the 1130cc engine making it a bit slower.
      It's until 2008 they put the 1250cc engine, making up for the additional weight.
      So the 2007 v-rod gained weight but no power making that year the worst.
