It's an aviation buff thing. We all noticed the woman... but you see women every day, all day. Not every day do you get to tour the interior of a $3.5 million luxury turboprop airplane.

I have always enjoyed your videos Steve. Especially the ones where you give us an insight to what you do as a corporate pilot. The flight videos are always fun but following along with you as you do your work, pre flight, and post flight has always spiked my interest. Thanks again for all of your efforts and safe flying.

I have recently discovered your videos steveo, I have always wanted to be a pilot and I got a private license with vfr rating many years ago and stopped because I didn't feel like I had the skills to proceed. But watching your video's makes me wish you would have been my instructor! Your very patient and seem to be a great teacher. I have learned more from you in your vlog than in the $8,000 dollars I spent in flight school. Anyway, as long as you keep making these I will keep watching and who knows, thanks to you I feel some inspiration coming on. Might have to get back in the cockpit. Thanks steveo!

I have the same hot beverage issue with my thermos. Caused by the lid capturing a volume of cool air that is then heated by the coffee.
Really see the effect if you pour some hot water in a tupperware slap the lid on and give it a single shake, puff right up or pop the lid off.

I've often wondered if there was a conflict regarding irresponsible drone operation and commercial/general aviation pilots. Considering how popular drones are, I can't help but feel that it's a matter of "when" and not "if" a drone impacting an aircraft with dreadful consequences. I'm not a pilot, but I've always had an affection for aviation and aircraft. I enjoy you video's a lot. Thanks for bringing us along with you. I learned something new today; that drones aren't supposed to fly higher than 400 feet. Have a great day and stay safe. I always like seeing someone doing what they love for a living. :)

I can tell you from looking at restriction maps for the Greater Toronto Area that there is only a small patch (Less then a couple of square miles) in the far east end where I could fly a drone legally as a non-commercial operator. But I am still restricted from flying over populated areas or over areas where there are people not participating in the flight event are present. I actually have to be about 5 miles north of the GTA before there are any openings for flying.
Partly this is due to the three airports and one reserved field (Downview former militayr airbase) that bracket the entire greater Toronto area. Internet Speculation is that NAV Canada is looking at much stricter rules and possibly making it up to 20 miles around airports from the current 5. Makes sense since jets are so very much faster and much more numerous then drones on approach / depart to YYZ and can cover 20 miles in a very short amount of time..
That could wipe most of Ontario out for non-commercial flight of a drone and MAV Can may potentially require SFOC's Several days in advance of a flight for all outdoor flights, Operators licensing and $100,000 collision and personal liability insurance for all drone operators regardless of class for all outdoor / commercial indoor (Trade show) flights. (Nothing official on any of this , just net chit chat on this information above.).
You may be required to demonstrate Proof of Insurance and Licence in order to purchase a drone. Purchase would then be registered with NAV Canada to get an operators certificate plus a fee for the registration and administration (perhaps $100+ or so annually). Similar auto insurance can be $500 - $1000 a month here in Ontario. If you have no insurance record it could be $3000 a month for the first six months (I can confirm this figure having had to pa it when I returned back to Canda from the states after a year away)
Such changes could make drone operation very expensive. This would also apply to tourists as well crossing at the border with a drone. They would have to pre-register / qualify / insure their drones prior to travel and not at the border at entry points. There is also some talk of a 20 miles no-fly all along the Canada US border. We should know this spring exactly what the changes are.

Nice video Steveo 1Kinevo. But i suggest that next time you to please upload step-by-step procedure videos of how to drive an airplane i.e. 1. Tell us detail explanation of the buttons and others things in the aircraft cockpit. 2.How to start the engine of the plane. 3. How to take-off an aircraft. 4. Things to do while driving the aircraft i.e. how much height an ordinary aircraft should go and at what speed, how to respond to the signals etc.and most important how to drive it. 5. How to land an aircraft. Even if the video is in parts (Part-1(Cockpit), Part-2(Take-off), Part-3(Driving and other things). No Problem! Would be waiting for those video's. Thank You.

That's max cruise and true airspeed. The normal cruise for this older aircraft is 250kts true. It is pressurized but only carried five passengers. Think of it as a cross country cruiser at much slower speeds than a personal jet.

Sharath Balasubramanian check out Eastern Kentucky University. Offers all of the same pirks that other big aviation schools have (R-ATP, 100hr multi program, Alpha Eta Rho fraternaty, Living learning community for aviation, fleet of over 20 aircraft, and pathway programs with airlines, including the ap3 program with express jet (same exact program Embry Riddle has). Here's the catch, you spend almost $80,000 less than you would st Embry Riddle. Check them out. Also look at UND and EMBRY RIDDLE

I am 65 and retired and as I look back on my life, not learning to fly is one of my biggest regrets. I don't know what ground school and flight lessons cost, probably more than me 'vette, which is the only thing I can fly, but it never leaves the ground (it's preferred not to leave the ground over a couple of inches). Flying a plane is on my bucket list as I have Stage IV Melanoma. Remission right now but this one sneaks up on you without frequent PET/CT scans to keep on top of any tumors popping up. Just to experience home videos of the objects on the ground getting smaller as you take off and larger as you land, I'm taking up flying a drone with 4K video. The GPS is programed to not enter any military or civilian runway flight paths in the US. This would be something my 6 grandkids could enjoy with me. My 35 years with FDOT has required me to fly a lot and my two jobs in Civil Engineering afterwards did to. I loved it. I just subscribed to your channel and hope your other videos are just as good and interesting. please disregard any predictive spelling errors or grammar. Good flying.

sorry to here about ur illness i hope u get better and stay in remission.....if i may make a suggestion if u are in good enough health to drive a car u can get a light sport pilot license which doesnt require a medical certificate like a regular ppl does ur drivers lic. acts as ur medical cert.....cost wise u can spend anywhere from 3k to 5k to complete ur lic....light sport restricts u to flying only 2 seat light sport aircraft along with a few other restrictions like when u can fly etc.....some schools offer 99.00 introductory flights and its a good way to see if u really like it.....go for it

Jack! Go to your local municipal airport and find a flight school. Ask them about intro flights. Usually around $100 or so and you can go up for around a half hour. The one I went to a few years ago let me taxi, take off, fly around, and back to the airport. The instructor did the landing, but it was awesome. PPL around here is about $9000 and includes everything required, so it may not be out of reach. I'll hopefully be starting pilot school in the next year or two - I'm 32 and don't want to have a regret for not doing so. Best of luck to you with your health and flying aspirations!

Steveo, it looks like the GPU is a diesel powered generator that makes 28 volts. From your video it looked like on battery power you had 24 or so volts. I understand that you wanted to run the air conditioner and get the electronics running without running the engine as I assume that would be a waste of fuel, loading passengers would be unsafe, etc but I have two questions. 1. Do you have enough power at 24 volts to start the engine (or does the GPU have to charge the batteries up to ~28 volts) and 2. Do they unplug the GPU and then you start or leave it plugged in when you are starting and unplug it once you are good and running? I have watched many of your other videos but not all and did not notice much/anything about the GPU. Thanks for your videos they are so nicely done it is clear that you are a great talent in both flying and editing.

Enjoyed that. I like flying videos, but I also like this part of aviation as well. Most pilots just want to shoot videos of the flying. that can be rather boring. It would be cool if you were to select a feature of the plane from time to time to illustrate how it works. For example, auto pilot or pressurization etc. I really enjoyed the emergency flight simulator video when you lost elevators.

Steve, any chance that you could show us the pre-flight check on your TBM 850? I'm a beginning pilot and have only flown on the Diamond DA20. I'd be curious to see the pre-flight procedure on an aircraft of this caliber.

Dude, I love your videos! Hoping to become a pilot someday. Can you do a video showing the engine startup-taxiing-takeoff procedures? Cheers from Venezuela :)

Hey Steve-O have you done and vidz on preflight for the engine on the TBM? Better question might be do you have any preflight inspections procedure to perform on the engine prior to a flight? Thanks.
