i think Gene knows that he can cash in a shit load of money by selling to andretti. he probably made his chief technician the boss for a limited amount of time until andretti takes over. i guess these changes are just the first steps to get the team ready to be sold to andretti. contracts maybe needed to be changed in favor for andretti.
Only 7 races on RTL this year and 1 already passed last weekend. Günther is fluent in Italian, German and English as far as I know. I wouldn't be surprised if he could speak French though. Did you know Toto speaks French?
I think most non-english speakers are bi or multi-lingual. I can speak English, Dutch, German and a bit of Afrikaans and a few words of Indonesian and French.

I don't think he's the type of guy who just retire and do nothing. He worked his whole life in motorsports. It's a part of his life. I'm sure he still wants to be there instead sitting on his couch and watch it on tv.
