Except she wasn't very wise at all if you watch this cinematic again. You realize that she never communicated anything with her daughter. All she ever said to her daughter was "LOL you're so dumb. Stop being so silly and dumb. You will learn one day". Instead of just explaining the black empire or the void and why she distanced herself from them, she just calls her daughter stupid. She is very unwise.

I would also like to point to the major difference between Xal'atath and the Jailer: They're actually showing instead of telling. They're showing us how she has been in the background for a while, showing us how she has manipulated certain events, showing us that she is pulling strings. They're not retroactively going "Oh btw, those Nerubians you just killed? Yeah, they were working for Xal'atath the whole time!" or "Remember how Arthas picked up Frostmourne? Well, who do you think told Muradin about the blade's location? That's right, that was her!" They're actively investing in her story, making sure she has a hand in the FUTURE of WoW, instead of trying to give her credit for all of WoW's PAST.
Another major difference between the Jailer and Xal'atah is that she actually has a personality and a cool looking design. The bar was extremely low tho almost anything is better than the bald man.
trying to connect new characters to old lore will never be anything but sad and desperate. believe it or not having a character you've never heard of or even hinted at before X point but then make them responsible for things before X is bad writing. there should've been hints or breadcrumbs since classic if they wanted to make a character like this. the smartest thing would've been to make Xal be a new old god that was launched at us by the void lords, have her smash into the planet and be like "okay y'all (old gods) sucked at this i'm here to take charge and f stuff up"

Like VanCleef and the Defias stuff, or Onyxia posing as Lady Prestor, or Arthas wanting only the greatest heroes atop Icecrown Citadel so he could raise them as his mighiest champions, or Garrosh wanting his "True Horde" at the cost of the other races within the faction. Has WoW ever had a "normal bad guy"?

Whether Blizz does good or not, they're going to complain. The WoW hobby is more about complaining and being a general complainer. It's just where the culture of this game is.

Literally in her backstory when she was introduced 8 years ago as a dagger, that's neither sad nor desperate, that's them making a character that is actually part of the world instead of a foreign thing that doesn't fit, complaining about that would be like complaining about Garrosh being Grom's son instead of a completely unrelated Orc. Every other connection that they are making is her influencing _current_ events like in BfA and Dragonflight.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but in early scenes Ansurek's gems are green and blue, but when she's talking with Xal'atath and accepts the deal the gems turn into the same purple of Xal'atath's jewellery. A nice little touch there.
"your line will sever itself" immediately plays out and comes true. Very much mirrors the Arthas terenas cinematic too, fun callbacks and fractal echos.
Surely the crab filter is merely a joke, and if it isn’t and there are actually individuals who are too mentally weak to see arachnoid creatures in a damn video game without being able to deal with it then they just shouldn’t play. My five year olds can see spiders or spider creatures in games or on TV and they deal with it just fine. How pathetic are so many individuals nowadays?

I love how Xal manages to look hot and creepy AF at the same time 😆 the way she Ringu-crawls out of the wall and her eyes moving, so spectacular and eerie!
I'm hoping for parallels with suramar and the faldorei and elves. They also became wretches, but only when they lost access to their font of power... also this spider-like fal'dorei faction... the arcandor mixing nature and arcane magic. There are already some parallels of course between the blood elves and the night born... but it seems the nerubians also had some font of power... maybe that crystal, where xalatath popped out. Im very excited to see what this expansions story is going to be like.

also one thing i could imagine happened when they severed their connection with the oldgods is that maybe while they were connected to the old gods they were more of a hivemind, obviously not a true hivemind but very close to that, and after they severed the connection they became much more individual than they were before, before everyone was pulling the rope in the same direction to get stuff done, but now everyone is pulling towards their own ambitions and goals

interesting that when nerubian "evolve" with blood of the old god they become more humanoid. its not the first time to, with the Quiraji the higher the caste the more humanoid they look, the twin emperors barely looked like bugs at all. but when humanoid mortal creatures are infested with old god powers they become more eldrich/insectoid.
The Gift of Flesh from the Old Gods is what made human and turned stone/robot construct of Titans into humanoid with flesh (dwarf/gnomes etc) too maybe it's a scale factor, lower creatures become higher and higher until loss control of it and become eldrich lol

That is a question I have also been asking. Old God corruption, Void corruption, lead to the Curse of Flesh bringing about the mortal races. Is this kind of thing similar? Turning the bestial spider folk into humanoid-like forms... I see fascinating possibilities.
Fun thing that I don't think anyone has mentioned (if they have, my bad) but after Xalatath speaks with the mother, when Ansurek comes in, her adorning jewels which had previously been blue start looking more purple, and whilst they do have a slight blueish hue after that, I think this is meant to basically hint that she had also heard Xalatath and readily accepted her deal.
They continue to use those those jewel tones. The buildings have that citrine orange present in the Maw and the Black dragon flight. The mother has green that was present in Maldraxxus, Zereth Mortis, and the Green dragon flight. Anub'Sakhet has blue which is present in Ardenweald and the Blue dragon flight. I think they are meant to be visual cues. The jewels were present in both SL and DF loading screens. There has to be a meaning. The orange seems to be a visual cue that its relating to something far below. Blue I think its like... the willingness to bend magic for the greater good. I think green is about someone with a behind the scenes approach to power. There is also an amethyst that's shown on both soldiers and Xal herself. Probably to show that the forces are under Xal's influence.

it's interesting that the Blade itself is present in the dream flashbacks. We haven't seen it since Wrathion used it at the end of BFA. Its presence here feels purposeful.
8:58 - 9:12 I immediately remembered the final BFA video, where bwonsamdi slaps the king on the shoulder and congratulates him on the return of the kingdom. Only there he had a face distorted with horror at the realization of the price he paid for such a victory - here we see this horror on her mother's face
I didn't see this in the comments, but the scene on the wall looks like N'Zoth is exposing the Faceless Ones and Nerubians to a source of power that they absorb as they worship him. That same "source", or one like it, is hanging from the ceiling at the beginning of the animation, but it doesn't seem to be glowing like the one in the mural is. This leaves me with a huge question: How does aging impact the Nerubians? Because this would give a definitive point in time that the animatic could have started at -- we know that the end has to be recent, but Ansurek could have been a little girl 10 000 years ago for all we know.
The Nerubians did not exist during the age of the Black Empire. They evolved from the Aqir after the great war against the Troll Empires. We know from the Mantids that the decendents of the Aquir do not life forever. Probably one reason all of the Aquir decendants developed a system of royalty.
I definitely agree that we should loose for once. I mean imagine the amount of people coming back to this game if ever left to avenge the Azeroth? Such a potential landslide and comeback for game. It would be kind of dumb not to take this opportunity.
I think the beginning was back when the Black Empire was around, and they refused to aid them. that's why the current queen was still a child. but after thousands of years, AFTER Xalatath was freed from the dagger and N'zoth let her go, and N'zoth died then she came to the old queen and jumped out of the wall here. that's what i think. Because Nyaalotha wasn't real in BfA, that was a manifestation of what it was back in the Black Empire.
Xal is life. Xal is Mommy but reminds me too much of orochimaru from naruto. I'm certain she will have her own path to follow and I'm pretty sure she is the world soul of karresh. She is too void neutral
Yeah I think you are correct. Given what we know about Nerubians it makes little sense that this would be the original black empire. The timeline just doesn't work if this is the old war. Signs point to this being the tail end of BFA after N'zoth returned.

This is a 3 expansion arc. This should follow the classic drama formula. The Fall, The Struggle, The heroic Return (No idea anymore what they're actually called and sometimes there's more arcs but you know what i mean :D). So basically, what they should've done with N'zoth but now with Knifu
Since War Within will lead into Midnight and it was hinted that in Midnight we will fail miserably, my guess is that: 1. In War Within, Xal'atath will manage to open a portal to the void lords, or something similar; In any case it will create a way for the void to reach Azeroth. 2. In Midnight, the void invasion will be in full effect 3. In The Last Titan, we will get help from Azeroth and repel the invasion
Its really cool to see Void politics. Xal being a creepy undead eldritch uncanny valley creature is really cool. It really feels like a puppet controlled by a thing not really fittung inside the body.
Is Xalatath influencing the past of the one true timeline that the Titans strive to preserve? How does she know that her actions will chain react all the way back to the future we are currently in, without it splintering like we see in the Time Rifts. It seems like those alternate futures/pasts are always just one little nudge in a different direction from our 'true timeline'. Even the old gods couldn't determine which future is the true one as they see all futures at once. Only when we went back in the bronze dragonflight quest did Nzoth see us and recognize us and knew which future was the true one to follow.
From just a nobbel watcher, this video highlights the difference between The Jailer and Xal'atath Xal will poke and prod. It will squeeze at your weakest moments. But, ultimately you have to take its hand. You and all your shortcomings and the ensuing fallout from your choices are the result of yourself and everyone around you. The Jailer came across as "you're all puppets for me" so, all the agency you though Warcraft characters had was just The Jailer.

That one that was destroying his old world. Might it be based on the disease Dementia? Kinda the same sound and especially with the pre event based on remembering stuff. That probably can not be remembered in the future because it will be feasting on it? Some thoughts on this one?
You've got to keep in mind that they came up with the name and character Dimensius back in the Burning Crusade. I think they just took a spacey-sounding word and made a bad guy name out of it. They might be retroactively making stuff fit like they did with the Jailor but I think Dimensius initially came from Metzen's showerthoughts
@Baboocha No..... it is more likely that Dimensius comes from the root word Dimension; not Dementia. Dementia is derived from Mental....as in.... "demented" and the prefix 'de' meaning "of" so dementia means "of mentality". Whereas Dimension derives from how early latin mathematicians were measuring out shapes and formulas with only 2 degrees of freedom to start with. What we now think of as 2 dimensional; and in latin "dimensios" meant "to measure out".
This video has made me so excited for lore again!!! It's been too long. Ack, I don't want to get my hopes up. I loved a lot of the BFA lore, but at the end I felt like they started wrecking Sylvanas's character. In Shadowlands the whole beginning with Sire Denathrius and finding out the Nathrezim had been infiltrating in so many ways (btw I want a questline to banish that filth, lothraxion out of the Paladin Class Hall!) was really intriguing to me, but as SL went on they destroyed so MUCH amazing lore from W3, Wrath and by then Sylvanas's character was a complete mess. But this is the first time I have been really excited to see how this story plays out. I would love to see them go back and revisit interesting stories that have loose ends. For instance you had Turalyon and Alleria torturing people with the void in Shadow's Rising and now Turalyon is sitting on throne in SW? That's HUGE. Anduin was already being turned before he got yeeted into the SLs because when Jaina warned him about what Turalyon and Alleria were doing, he just blew her off. I can't remember now, but there was also something else interesting at the end of that book regarding Anduin's demise. I think when they were in the hull of a ship and it had to do with some symbol on the wall and someone was imprisoned? Anyway, there were so many interesting stories that were laid out and then SLs took a very odd left turn and it felt like all these amazing threads were just forgotten. Well, blizzard has finally acknowledged there's a big ol' sword sticking out of Azeroth so maybe some of these cool stories will be revisited. Especially Turalyon. I mean, we can't just let that slide. I admit I'm pretty biased about that since I main a pally, but also a pally getting caught up with his void lover and torturing the shit out of people? That could be one hell of a story to finish up. At least get that POS off the throne.
Also interested in the reason the people were suffering, but I fear it was more of a "we need them to take this deal" so they didn't put any thought behind it. It is a bit weird how the queen calls her children "her people". Like the queens are the main egg-layers of the nerubian empire, but the relationship seemed more like that of a normal monarch and their people. :P
100% xals original body which got burried somewhere deep after the other old gods imprisioned her essence inside the dagger, so that she can't get revived back in the void realm. i said this the second i heard of her in legion when the priest oder hall gave us information about the weapon in their giant book.
IDK. Maybe I am too old for the level of story telling in WOW but why would an almost immortal queen not realize the old gods would work through her daughter? Like....seriously? These are void aligned beings and they don't know about how the void acts. Don't even get me started on the "thread" nonsense. Eris in Sinbad is the perfect villain. She is so well animated as well and Michelle Pfiefer is the chef's kiss!
Cant say i like how anthropomorphic the nerubians. I always thought their charm was a race that came from the old gods that were scary but occasionally chose not to kill us. Mostly for some ulterior motive. These guys just look to human. Definitely of those "doesn't make sense,but look how cool moments.
The difference between Xal'atath and Zovaal is that she's actually charismatic. I can believe her being a master manipulator playing 4d chess. Also, losing at the end of TWW would be pretty interesting. If we're looking at the titles of the worldsoul saga, it makes sense that Midnight is the middle part of a hero's journey style overarching story where we were just defeated and we're at the low point. And then Last Titan as the proper epic climax.
Check the body language of the mother and daughter. Furn off the sound for a better understanding of the message shown. At 0:25, the mother is holding her hands in a low steeple. Also, the second pair have their palms downwards. She is depicted as someone who also draws her power from her people as they are backing her up. She is confident and a ruler, and she is well aware of her people and what they are willing to do for her. However, they are foggy and blueish in color, and the angle at which they are shown is straight from the front while the people behind her are placed as if they are going lower. The number of forces behind her is also important when you compare it to the other picture. Now switch to 4:53. The new queen has her palms upwards, the "sky" is bright, not so "depressing" with an eery purple, she shows an upper steeple, the camera angle is slightly from downwards as she is shown in a "hero position". The colors are brighter, and the number of forces behind her is greater. They are also placed on the same level as her. Also, the changes in armor and clothes are pretty impressive. The mother wears a heavy crown, which feels as if it's too heavy for her. While her daughter has big shoulder armor and no sleeves. I could talk more about it, but that would be too much for here.
Why does the blood of the Old gods is making nerubians more humanoid? We had a good example with night elves turned into nagas with the influence from the old goods, but this transformation looks more like an ordering by an arcane (like with dragons in DF quests). Maybe Xal is feeding them something else
@@moprophet_509 That just made them flesh though, they didn't really change shape except for the Vrykul getting smaller. Whereas pretty much every other case of something becoming more humanoid seems to be a result of something being in proximity to the Well of Eternity or getting changed by the titans. I think it just adds more evidence to Xal being the world soul of Karesh or related to it some way.
@sweptay locus walker would have just told us it was there planets world soul as he knows who xal is in the rift quest line. I see xal as more of a silver surfer type character that shows up first before the big bad void lord dimensiious maybe she has alternative motives herself tho

My theory is that Xal'atath is behind the kingdoms suffering in order to get az´kahet to join her, she weakened them from behind the scenes to get Ansurek to accept the blood of the old gods. Ansureks mother would never accept so she manipulated the current queen. Gonna be interesting how this comment is gonna age :D

100% this is BFA that they wanted more bug bosses. Wouldn’t make sense as having been any other time given Nerubians only existing after the fall of the BE and spread of the Aqir.

Surely the crab filter is merely a joke, and if it isn’t and there are actually individuals who are too mentally weak to see arachnoid creatures in a damn video game without being able to deal with it then they just shouldn’t play. My five year olds can see spiders or spider creatures in games or on TV and they deal with it just fine. How pathetic are so many individuals nowadays?

I'm hoping for parallels with suramar and the faldorei and elves. They also became wretches, but only when they lost access to their font of power... also this spider-like fal'dorei faction... the arcandor mixing nature and arcane magic. There are already some parallels of course between the blood elves and the night born... but it seems the nerubians also had some font of power... maybe that crystal, where xalatath popped out. Im very excited to see what this expansions story is going to be like.

also one thing i could imagine happened when they severed their connection with the oldgods is that maybe while they were connected to the old gods they were more of a hivemind, obviously not a true hivemind but very close to that, and after they severed the connection they became much more individual than they were before, before everyone was pulling the rope in the same direction to get stuff done, but now everyone is pulling towards their own ambitions and goals

Just noticed Ansurek’s gems started out blue and became purple when discussing at the mural.
They've been fighting Arathi in hollowfall for 15+ years. The war has been draining on the Arathi, One would think it would be just as draining on the Nerubians too.

interesting that when nerubian "evolve" with blood of the old god they become more humanoid. its not the first time to, with the Quiraji the higher the caste the more humanoid they look, the twin emperors barely looked like bugs at all. but when humanoid mortal creatures are infested with old god powers they become more eldrich/insectoid.
The Gift of Flesh from the Old Gods is what made human and turned stone/robot construct of Titans into humanoid with flesh (dwarf/gnomes etc) too maybe it's a scale factor, lower creatures become higher and higher until loss control of it and become eldrich lol
Not to mention the Curse of Flesh made us more humanoid. And it came from the Old Gods. 😎

That is a question I have also been asking. Old God corruption, Void corruption, lead to the Curse of Flesh bringing about the mortal races. Is this kind of thing similar? Turning the bestial spider folk into humanoid-like forms... I see fascinating possibilities.

Fun thing that I don't think anyone has mentioned (if they have, my bad) but after Xalatath speaks with the mother, when Ansurek comes in, her adorning jewels which had previously been blue start looking more purple, and whilst they do have a slight blueish hue after that, I think this is meant to basically hint that she had also heard Xalatath and readily accepted her deal.
Nothing in this trailer is accidental - Xal emerging from the mural is definitely a hint towards something.

They continue to use those those jewel tones. The buildings have that citrine orange present in the Maw and the Black dragon flight. The mother has green that was present in Maldraxxus, Zereth Mortis, and the Green dragon flight. Anub'Sakhet has blue which is present in Ardenweald and the Blue dragon flight. I think they are meant to be visual cues.
The jewels were present in both SL and DF loading screens. There has to be a meaning. The orange seems to be a visual cue that its relating to something far below. Blue I think its like... the willingness to bend magic for the greater good. I think green is about someone with a behind the scenes approach to power. There is also an amethyst that's shown on both soldiers and Xal herself. Probably to show that the forces are under Xal's influence.
So it's basically just Orcs drinking weird demon goo again. Xalatath seems cool though

Only there he had a face distorted with horror at the realization of the price he paid for such a victory - here we see this horror on her mother's face

I didn't see this in the comments, but the scene on the wall looks like N'Zoth is exposing the Faceless Ones and Nerubians to a source of power that they absorb as they worship him. That same "source", or one like it, is hanging from the ceiling at the beginning of the animation, but it doesn't seem to be glowing like the one in the mural is.
This leaves me with a huge question: How does aging impact the Nerubians? Because this would give a definitive point in time that the animatic could have started at -- we know that the end has to be recent, but Ansurek could have been a little girl 10 000 years ago for all we know.
The Nerubians did not exist during the age of the Black Empire. They evolved from the Aqir after the great war against the Troll Empires.
We know from the Mantids that the decendents of the Aquir do not life forever. Probably one reason all of the Aquir decendants developed a system of royalty.
I definitely agree that we should loose for once. I mean imagine the amount of people coming back to this game if ever left to avenge the Azeroth? Such a potential landslide and comeback for game. It would be kind of dumb not to take this opportunity.
I think the beginning was back when the Black Empire was around, and they refused to aid them. that's why the current queen was still a child. but after thousands of years, AFTER Xalatath was freed from the dagger and N'zoth let her go, and N'zoth died then she came to the old queen and jumped out of the wall here. that's what i think.
Because Nyaalotha wasn't real in BfA, that was a manifestation of what it was back in the Black Empire.

Yeah I think you are correct. Given what we know about Nerubians it makes little sense that this would be the original black empire. The timeline just doesn't work if this is the old war. Signs point to this being the tail end of BFA after N'zoth returned.

Since War Within will lead into Midnight and it was hinted that in Midnight we will fail miserably, my guess is that:
1. In War Within, Xal'atath will manage to open a portal to the void lords, or something similar; In any case it will create a way for the void to reach Azeroth.
2. In Midnight, the void invasion will be in full effect
3. In The Last Titan, we will get help from Azeroth and repel the invasion
Its really cool to see Void politics.
Xal being a creepy undead eldritch uncanny valley creature is really cool. It really feels like a puppet controlled by a thing not really fittung inside the body.

Is Xalatath influencing the past of the one true timeline that the Titans strive to preserve? How does she know that her actions will chain react all the way back to the future we are currently in, without it splintering like we see in the Time Rifts. It seems like those alternate futures/pasts are always just one little nudge in a different direction from our 'true timeline'. Even the old gods couldn't determine which future is the true one as they see all futures at once. Only when we went back in the bronze dragonflight quest did Nzoth see us and recognize us and knew which future was the true one to follow.
From just a nobbel watcher, this video highlights the difference between The Jailer and Xal'atath
Xal will poke and prod. It will squeeze at your weakest moments. But, ultimately you have to take its hand. You and all your shortcomings and the ensuing fallout from your choices are the result of yourself and everyone around you.
The Jailer came across as "you're all puppets for me" so, all the agency you though Warcraft characters had was just The Jailer.

That one that was destroying his old world. Might it be based on the disease Dementia? Kinda the same sound and especially with the pre event based on remembering stuff. That probably can not be remembered in the future because it will be feasting on it? Some thoughts on this one?
You've got to keep in mind that they came up with the name and character Dimensius back in the Burning Crusade. I think they just took a spacey-sounding word and made a bad guy name out of it. They might be retroactively making stuff fit like they did with the Jailor but I think Dimensius initially came from Metzen's showerthoughts
@Baboocha No..... it is more likely that Dimensius comes from the root word Dimension; not Dementia. Dementia is derived from Mental....as in.... "demented" and the prefix 'de' meaning "of" so dementia means "of mentality". Whereas Dimension derives from how early latin mathematicians were measuring out shapes and formulas with only 2 degrees of freedom to start with. What we now think of as 2 dimensional; and in latin "dimensios" meant "to measure out".

This video has made me so excited for lore again!!! It's been too long. Ack, I don't want to get my hopes up. I loved a lot of the BFA lore, but at the end I felt like they started wrecking Sylvanas's character. In Shadowlands the whole beginning with Sire Denathrius and finding out the Nathrezim had been infiltrating in so many ways (btw I want a questline to banish that filth, lothraxion out of the Paladin Class Hall!) was really intriguing to me, but as SL went on they destroyed so MUCH amazing lore from W3, Wrath and by then Sylvanas's character was a complete mess. But this is the first time I have been really excited to see how this story plays out. I would love to see them go back and revisit interesting stories that have loose ends. For instance you had Turalyon and Alleria torturing people with the void in Shadow's Rising and now Turalyon is sitting on throne in SW? That's HUGE. Anduin was already being turned before he got yeeted into the SLs because when Jaina warned him about what Turalyon and Alleria were doing, he just blew her off. I can't remember now, but there was also something else interesting at the end of that book regarding Anduin's demise. I think when they were in the hull of a ship and it had to do with some symbol on the wall and someone was imprisoned? Anyway, there were so many interesting stories that were laid out and then SLs took a very odd left turn and it felt like all these amazing threads were just forgotten. Well, blizzard has finally acknowledged there's a big ol' sword sticking out of Azeroth so maybe some of these cool stories will be revisited. Especially Turalyon. I mean, we can't just let that slide. I admit I'm pretty biased about that since I main a pally, but also a pally getting caught up with his void lover and torturing the shit out of people? That could be one hell of a story to finish up. At least get that POS off the throne.

It is a bit weird how the queen calls her children "her people". Like the queens are the main egg-layers of the nerubian empire, but the relationship seemed more like that of a normal monarch and their people. :P

IDK. Maybe I am too old for the level of story telling in WOW but why would an almost immortal queen not realize the old gods would work through her daughter? Like....seriously? These are void aligned beings and they don't know about how the void acts. Don't even get me started on the "thread" nonsense. Eris in Sinbad is the perfect villain. She is so well animated as well and Michelle Pfiefer is the chef's kiss!
Cant say i like how anthropomorphic the nerubians. I always thought their charm was a race that came from the old gods that were scary but occasionally chose not to kill us. Mostly for some ulterior motive. These guys just look to human. Definitely of those "doesn't make sense,but look how cool moments.

The difference between Xal'atath and Zovaal is that she's actually charismatic.

Also, losing at the end of TWW would be pretty interesting. If we're looking at the titles of the worldsoul saga, it makes sense that Midnight is the middle part of a hero's journey style overarching story where we were just defeated and we're at the low point. And then Last Titan as the proper epic climax.
Check the body language of the mother and daughter. Furn off the sound for a better understanding of the message shown. At 0:25, the mother is holding her hands in a low steeple. Also, the second pair have their palms downwards. She is depicted as someone who also draws her power from her people as they are backing her up. She is confident and a ruler, and she is well aware of her people and what they are willing to do for her. However, they are foggy and blueish in color, and the angle at which they are shown is straight from the front while the people behind her are placed as if they are going lower. The number of forces behind her is also important when you compare it to the other picture. Now switch to 4:53. The new queen has her palms upwards, the "sky" is bright, not so "depressing" with an eery purple, she shows an upper steeple, the camera angle is slightly from downwards as she is shown in a "hero position". The colors are brighter, and the number of forces behind her is greater. They are also placed on the same level as her. Also, the changes in armor and clothes are pretty impressive. The mother wears a heavy crown, which feels as if it's too heavy for her. While her daughter has big shoulder armor and no sleeves. I could talk more about it, but that would be too much for here.

Making deals with the Void may "work" in the short term but in the long run. You will pay for it. Regardless the Void will consume you either way.
Why does the blood of the Old gods is making nerubians more humanoid? We had a good example with night elves turned into nagas with the influence from the old goods, but this transformation looks more like an ordering by an arcane (like with dragons in DF quests). Maybe Xal is feeding them something else
Humans dwarfs and gnomes became flesh from old god curse so that's not out of the ordinary that they become more humanoid
@@moprophet_509 That just made them flesh though, they didn't really change shape except for the Vrykul getting smaller. Whereas pretty much every other case of something becoming more humanoid seems to be a result of something being in proximity to the Well of Eternity or getting changed by the titans. I think it just adds more evidence to Xal being the world soul of Karesh or related to it some way.
@sweptay locus walker would have just told us it was there planets world soul as he knows who xal is in the rift quest line. I see xal as more of a silver surfer type character that shows up first before the big bad void lord dimensiious maybe she has alternative motives herself tho

My theory is that Xal'atath is behind the kingdoms suffering in order to get az´kahet to join her, she weakened them from behind the scenes to get Ansurek to accept the blood of the old gods. Ansureks mother would never accept so she manipulated the current queen.
