Lost her family, lost her home, got a new family and a new home, lost her partner, her sister tried to convince them to take poison to join the Undead, and soon, her home again. They need to give that woman a break!
Vereesa was always more or less a side character. She only became relevant, because of her novel, Day of the Dragon. Since her in- game introduction, she's been the Alliance representative in Dalaran, and the un- official leader of the high elf exiles. Many Alliance high elf supporters want her as their racial leader, but she's only the leader of the Silver Covenant, a militant faction of high elves living in Dalaran. But then again, the void elves were an even smaller group during their unlock quest. Vereesa is also hated among blood elf players for her active role in the Purge of Dalaran. A fair point, given most of the killings were done by the Silver Covenant. But Sylvanas was hated by Alliance AND Horde players alike during BfA and Shadowlands, yet she still had a sizable number of fans. While my blood elf side is still a bit mad at Vereesa for her actions in Mop, I do agree she (and her sons) needs a bit more character development. The War Within could be the time, but she hasn't showed up yet in the Beta, which means they're probably saving her for Midnight. They already teased Midnight will be about "bringing the elven tribes together", so this could be Vereesa's time to shine as the "high elf leader". There's already speculation about the Horde getting the Amani trolls as an allied race, so this could be the time to give the Alliance the high elves they actually wanted, with paladins (or just give the void elves paladins and more hairstyles).

I Love how this video makes CANON< the fact that Silvermoon used to be BLUE THEMED, until Kael'thas joined the Horde and pushed that whole BLOOD angle. That's when it was redecorated to all red... You can see the remnants of that decor in the Silver Covenant areas of Northrend.
Kael didn't join the Horde, he joined Illidan and later the Legion. It was Lor'themar that joined the Horde, at Sylvanas's urging. That was years after they'd already assumed the new blood elf identity.
Yep, just an animated show that covers the events of warcraft 1, 2, and 3 followed by a sequel series that goes over all the important bits from the books and finally a story mode in WoW that lets you play through all the main plot points. Make sure to bump the game rating up to M and set the show at TV-MA so they can include all the really dark stuff done to and by the orcs, trolls, dragons, undead, elves, and humans.
Feel like with her determination to sacrifice herself for the world she’ll likely get her wish at the end of WW, setting the stage for Vareesa to step up and make her sacrifice count next expansion. ~ The hour of her third death will usher their coming ~

I'd have loved for Alleria to change her gear after the fall of Dalaran, that would have caused Vereesa to die. She would have taken her colors, and it would embody her shame
I really hope they aren't going to rewrite Alleria and Turalyon's relationship to make them distrust each other, because this animated short sure makes it seem that way. They already overcame this issue when they returned to the story at the end of Legion and in A Thousand Years of War. Retreading the same path by changing it to make them more distant would be very disappointing. Vereesa just being a cameo character for Light knows how long by now is also sad.
I think this is where the distrust started, before it was resolved. I think they just show you this to show new players what's up there and to show old players what she's dealing with in her head.
The look on king Anasterian Sunstrider and his advisors when alleria forced them to aknowleg that the Horde (old one) were attacking the kingdome. Do feel bad for Sylvanas who had tried to warn her people and big sis had to help. And I do feel bad for Vereesa who is more in the shadow than an shadow priest.
There's a huge book that's three or four books combined that has this and essentially the opening to WOD the FIRST time, pick it up to read when WOD made it relevant and started listening to your videos then...... it's been a bumpy ride
I know that they once struggled with shadow and the light but in Shadows Rising Alleria and Turalyon seemed pretty in tune with each other using the light and void to torture people.... weird that she mentons pushing him away when we haven't really seen that much tension between them to be honest.
Yeah, this is and Vereesa being kinda sidelined were my two grievances with the animated short. I have not read Shadows Rising, but they made it pretty clear in A Thousand Years of War that Turalyon doesn't think of any less of Alleria, even now. "No matter what happened, he would always trust her. He would always fight for her. And she would do the same for him. He was certain of it. That give him peace." These are literally the last few sentences of that audio drama. Either they forgot about writing that or didn't care and are taking a different direction now, as they have so often. It really sucks being invested in characters and then having their core dynamic changed without warning.

BUT, not animated or live version... they should actually make one with the Hyper realistic CG they use when they anounce new expansions. I know it would take a long time and lots of money to make, but oh man. Imagine a 10 ep per season series with THAT quality! Oh.... and also... DON'T show us stuff we already know or played through... show us moments like THIS video! Moments we haven't seen or happened only in novels or behind the scenes THAT would be awesome!!! Millions would watch it!!!!! COME ON, BLIZZARD!!! TAKE OUR MONEYYY
i Wish they used a different motivation for Sylvanas to join the jailer and to control death. After reading the book id understand if her motivation was to get her borther (Lirath) back, if she wanted to use the jailer and maybe be a dubble agent instead of what she was in Shadowlands.

I can't help but feel they retconed Alleria and Turalyon relationship. So far Turalyon NEVER said that when Alleria embraced the void, their relation was still intact!!! And now you tell me it was fragile as paper?
You really need to listen to "A thousand years of War" its an audio drama on the World of Warcraft TH-cam page. He had his moment, he did say this, but their relationship, while it did take a "break" so to speak it was more because of Alleria not believing she could fully control her powers and wanting to keep Turalyon safe. She comes back and when Xe'ra the naru and "mother of light" so to speak tries to basically have Alleria killed he stands up for her and Xe'ra settles for imprisoning's her for a short time. Eventually he talks Xe'ra into letting her out because he trusts her. They are in a good spot in their relationship now and can even touch as long as she is not in Void form.

Waaay to much strong female char promotion who doesnt need a family or anything, and ofc would do it all again.. that might be how it is, but ahe could at least said at the wnd that she would have chosen differently or something, or that shes sad about it insteady of walking away for every single event appearing here with her back turned and stone face... Like sooo "cool"..It has also nothing do do with the nee fame and extremely crappy lore there, this is a video of things that has already happened, and people use it to promote the new garbage
This is actually an insanely good video and loads of my friends who dont read books or just dont get into lore really appreciate this sort of recap/summary of a character they know a little and love. Alleria is a single minded individual who has been a part of the lore for a very long time, this is her personality. She is a very much strongly pulled by duty type of character and she believes in her choices. Does she have doubt sometimes? sure! However she knows that every step she takes has purpose and she is determined to do what she believes needs to be done to protect the ones she loves. She is much like Illidan in that way, headstrong and willing to do what it takes, whatever the cost. The people that know her and love her understand her. Shes an awesome character.

i hate her new look. especially since there is no in-between look. for someone who doesn't know anything about wow, if you show him a side-by-side picture with the old look and the new one, he will think they are different characters. there is no consistency between the old look and the new one. hell. the tattoos are on the other arm now... that design might have worked on its own for a new character but as a new Alleria design it's really bad
She is a "soldier"... before sister, wife, mother... that sounds like ego to me, because the sacrifice involved is not only her own, but that of her sister, husband, and son. She is no more heroic than Illidan, perhaps even less so.

I can't help but feel they retconed Alleria and Turalyon relationship.
So far Turalyon NEVER said that when Alleria embraced the void, their relation was still intact!!!

You really need to listen to "A thousand years of War" its an audio drama on the World of Warcraft TH-cam page. He had his moment, he did say this, but their relationship, while it did take a "break" so to speak it was more because of Alleria not believing she could fully control her powers and wanting to keep Turalyon safe. She comes back and when Xe'ra the naru and "mother of light" so to speak tries to basically have Alleria killed he stands up for her and Xe'ra settles for imprisoning's her for a short time. Eventually he talks Xe'ra into letting her out because he trusts her. They are in a good spot in their relationship now and can even touch as long as she is not in Void form.

Very nice animation and effects and such, mid to boring way of lore/telling her story.. Waaay to much strong female char promotion who doesnt need a family or anything, and ofc would do it all again.. that might be how it is, but ahe could at least said at the wnd that she would have chosen differently or something, or that shes sad about it insteady of walking away for every single event appearing here with her back turned and stone face... Like sooo "cool"..It has also nothing do do with the nee fame and extremely crappy lore there, this is a video of things that has already happened, and people use it to promote the new garbage

This is actually an insanely good video and loads of my friends who dont read books or just dont get into lore really appreciate this sort of recap/summary of a character they know a little and love. Alleria is a single minded individual who has been a part of the lore for a very long time, this is her personality. She is a very much strongly pulled by duty type of character and she believes in her choices. Does she have doubt sometimes? sure! However she knows that every step she takes has purpose and she is determined to do what she believes needs to be done to protect the ones she loves. She is much like Illidan in that way, headstrong and willing to do what it takes, whatever the cost. The people that know her and love her understand her. Shes an awesome character.
