Thank you so much for your comment is very much appreciated as I do not get that many viewers. Being sober is the best thing that’s ever happened to me that I’m being drunk. What I mean is I met some of the most beautiful people on my crazy journey through life, so I do not regret the booze, only the final few years of it all. Maybe in some way, it is the drink that brought me to the Temples and I should be grateful. I hope life is kind. Take good care

For two years, I was embarrassed that I had done a disservice to this Temple by not knowing more about its history. I’m glad I went back to correct this wrong.
This is a brilliant return. I always thought the multiple arms were early animation 😂😂 never feel embarrassed about your work as it’s the passion with which they are delivered is what makes them so special ❤

Thank you for such an awesome BC temple video… one of my favorite temple in Cambodia… Jayavarman VII has a strong royal lineage, his knowledge and wisdom from his mother queen Jayacudarmani and father Dharanindravarman II. He also gave his highest respect to his ancestors and his practice… agree with you regarding alcohol consumption has been carved in a way to pass a meaningful message to coming generations, alcohol consumption will destroy a kingdom from grassroots, similar carvings we can witness in Bayon temple… beautiful…

I think alcohol is all good fun when you’re younger and you can bounce back when you’re older. It is nothing but a depressant one that too many lean on as a crutch to get through the grey days.

Mr B - good to see you back at Chamaar. It is an absolute treasure. Tough to get to - but isn’t that part of its current beauty? Those multi armed Avalokiteshvaras are quite simply National treasures of Cambodia. You are probably aware that it was a Cambodian army general who got an engineer regiment to build a road so he could rob them and sell them abroad. Their recovery is a miracle of luck and coincidence - I believe that a German archaeologist who did part of his PhD in Cambodia actually at Chhmar and had seen them in situ later came across one of them for sale in Bangkok. His persistence led to the recovery of I think 5 of the lost six - hence that gap still in the wall. They arrived back in Phnom Penh about 2 years ago and what you see was only put back there last Year. I was amazed to see them when I visited Chhmar last Easter. They had just been put back. Chhmar is a treasure just waiting to be put back together - although so much has been lost so much remains to be rebuilt - hopefully. There is a great book by Peter Sharrock on the site. I believe that parts of the North West walls are also being reconstructed with foreign help? Thank you so much for posting this. Regards from the UK.
No, I did not know it was an army general that built a road to steal them. I could not of mentioned that in my video anyway, because I do not know it to be fact, and I would not wish to misrepresent anyone. I think you know why.
As to them only been put back last year I can confirm that three years ago I was there at that temple and they were definitely there then because I filmed them. So they were put back a bit earlier than maybe some people are quoting
I agree, it’s an absolute miracle that they were not lost. It’s honestly would’ve been an absolute tragedy as they are so very beautiful and so very unique.

Wow thank you your first line is beautiful. My life is so much better now, I love life so much. I even got rid of my drama queen girlfriend, she was so selfish & so horrible. I dumped her & got a hamster I named Wilbert & now me & WIlbs are so very content. No more lies, no more drama, ❤

I’d really love to know why you decided to come to Cambodia in the beginning, of all the places in the world.
The wall iconography of the many armed Avalokiteśvara अवलोकितेश्वर(Sanskrit) or លោកេស្វរ Lokesvarak (Khmer) or Guanyin 观音, trad. 觀音 (Mandarin Chinese) meaning "the lord who gazes down" implying gazing down so as to listen to the cries of the people. In some varieties of Buddhism as is here is depicted as male and others (largely the Mahayana) as female. The many arms signify the help extended by the god/goddess. In other iconographies, there are multiple heads, eyes, and or ears to witness the plight of the people.
